    Hammer has made a pretty good ball here. I've had it for awhile but didn't throw it very often. Took it out when i was struggling with my other ball. I had great results, i don't hook the ball at all, but with this ball i was forced to move a good 10 boards right, and hooking it from about 15 to 5, that dosn't seem like a lot for most people but i don't have much hook, hits pretty good, but what i love about it is its versitlity, you can miss your target right but it will some how come back, its helping me not to point the ball because if i did i left splits galor and it will hit very badly, but i do love this ball :]

    I originally wanted a 15lb Sling Blade because I was throwing 16 and 15 at one point. I got a 14lb one by accident and it's too light for me. I eventually got a 15lb one, but after buying it, I decided to just stick with 16lb stuff. I had this drilled to fit between my Doom and Cherry Vibe, which was a little bit more of a weaker drill. Didn't carry the ten pins well at all, but I think that was because it is a 14lb ball. I'd love to get one in 16lbs, but it doesn't look like that will ever happen. This has a little bit of midlane movement with quite a bit of backend snap. I am gonna give the 14lb one to my mom when she starts bowling again.<

    Last night, March 14, 2006, I rolled a perfect 300. The Sling Blade is great to medium-shorter length patters and lanes with burned heads. My drilling is CG on PAP and the pin within two inches for maximum control and consistent reaction. Like its cousion, the black PURE Hammer, you get a controllable ball with excellent pin carry. The Sling Blade delivers a stronger backend reaction and more length than the black PURE hammer, but they are excellent compliments for medium-light conditions. This was another closeout special from Buddies Pro Shop that I'm glad to have pounced on!

    Well, like I said I'm a cranker that throws well over 20 m.p.h. i tried this ball mostly as a last resort. I was having trouble finding a ball for wood lanes, with scorched heads, so I figured why not. Nothing else had been working. This ball allowed me to swing it out to about board 5, and still came back hard to the pocket. Then to my surprise I tried it on synthetic lanes with a medium oil pattern with medium length, and although I obviously had to move right on the approach, I could still swing it out, and it came back great. I average about 190, and I haven't shot less than 650 since I switched to this ball. I'm not sure why they discontinued it, but I stocked up when they did.<s

    Nothing I have in my bag rips the rack like this Sling Blade. This ball will change your third game on league night when those heads start to dry up.This ball is what you need when the lanes start to dry up. Or when your on light oiled lanes.I put this ball on the second arrow on synthetic lanes and man did it hook. I had to move all the way left and throw this ball across the middle arrow, and man did the baby hook back and rip the rack. On light oiled wood lanes, it is the answer for me. I bowl on second shift league, where the heads are burnt. And this ball can handle it with no worries. I threw my first 600 with it this year. The picture does this ball no justice. It is impressive going down the lane. This ball has possibly turned me into a hammer head. In addition this ball hooks a lot more than the stats imply. For the price you can afford not to have this ball in your bag as the go to when the heads dry out. Get this ball and watch you score sore.

    I have been rolling my dads which I liked but hes a right and im a lefty and he's hands are bigger so I had to grip it. I got one for me and drilled lefty and fingertiped bowled one nite so far and it is awesome I stand mid dot throw to left and it hits every time! I Love it! I cant wait to go bowling again! I'm on a high school team and Ive been looking for that little edge well I think I found in this ball. And to think i got this ball off a friend for $22.60 which that was just to resurface it and plug and drill. Greatest buy Ive every made. Slingblde is a DREAM!!!

    This is an awsome ball hooks the entier lane. When there is no oil i have to loft it over the left gutter cap. On an out of bounds shot i play down and in and it holds line. But on a house shot it is to easy. I also love the Bolt that ball goes long and then snaps. If they make a new ball they should name it hook with a vengence.     Just got a Sling Blade off Ebay for a little of nothing, had it drilled straight up. On light oil or burnt conditions, it does exactly what its supposed to do.........go long and hit hard. It mixes pins up really well on light hits. It fits in my arsenal in between my Diesel Particle Pearl and my Faball Blue Pearl Hammer.     I just recently purchased the Hammer Sling Blade. The only practice I had with the ball was the 10 - 15 minutes before the league started. I bowled above my average all 3 games. My average is a 202. The ball played great everywhere I wanted to play. It was great on freshly oiled lanes and it was also great on them when they started to dry up, since the ball is pearl. It's great for picking up the ten pin also, or seven pin if you're left handed. This ball also has great pin action. I recommend this ball to anyone who has trouble adjusting to the lanes when they start to dry up, or anyone who would like to improve their average : )

    I bought this ball on pure impulse. I was going to get the V2 Sweet (which I still plan on getting) but it was on back order. I couldn't wait a couple extra weeks for a new ball so I decided to give Hammer a whirl since the Sledge is the newest Hammer anyone around my area throws. Hammer is non existant in my neck of the woods. Boy has this ball changed some peoples minds. It's a pearl and gets through the heads very clean. Totally takes the first 30 feet of the lane out of play. Dry heads or oily heads it'll slide right on through to the backend. I got this ball drilled pretty aggressive so it's mainly for medium oil. The pin is right below the bridge of my fingers. The drive of this ball is unreal though. My old Trauma was a pearl and it never hit this hard. My Icon doesn't even hit this hard. It sends messengers flying at the 10 like no ball I own. I'm not a one brand kind of guy and this ball sits perfectly next to my Ultimate Inferno and Hot Rod. We've now got a cou

    Always the " Go To " Ball after your lane reader ball says the lanes are snapping on the backend from boards 1 to 18..( Lefty Side ) Sit back and enjoy the next few 220's to 270's games that will follow. Tested this Ball when Hammer came to town with their " Demo Days ".. What a Great event... I tried this ball on six different pair of lanes and threw 10 out of 12 strikes across the different lanes and could play 3 to 4 totally different lines.. Just a pleasure to watch it leave your hand when the conditions are there for it and per it's name, you will find it works Incredible when you actually " SLING IT " hard and can play a variety of completely different lane areas..

    This is my third ball, but my second new ball. Only the use for lanes with volume oil medium and medium to long length.This type of lanes allows me to make a launching of moderate speed. The same then strikes strong in the pocket for 1-3 and 1-2. In lanes oil short length, its very difficult to have control of the trayectory of the ball because the hook potential in teh backend is very strong. its very easy to do split of different type over pin-deck., then Its better to play with another ball. Medium-light oil, medium oil, medium - heavy oil doing changes of place to go.<scrip

    Likes, Hooks like crazy, almost to much. Goes long but hits strong. Dislikes, Hard to throw due to its entense, late hook. Its inconsitant with very little leverage. Due to the fact that my bowling ally has had a tourny going on for almost a month the lanes have been bone dry. When i throw the sling blade i throw it 15 boards over from the 5th dot and throw to the 5 board at about 18 mph. Its crazy how it hooks. The ball in my opinion is alot better in heavy oil because it hooks late. Another thing i didnt like about the ball was the fact that it hooks a lot more than the specs say it does. Don't get me wrong I love that ball and its one of the best i have ever had i have been bowling for over eight years and i have had ten balls. I know what i see and this is a great ball, one of the best Hammers ever made in my opinion!<

    I found this ball, and I KNEW I HAD TO HAVE IT! It fit me perfectly, and it only cost $60! Now, i dunno all the lingo for ball drillings, but this one was pin under my ring finger. So i dunno what that means. I played w/ it and it is very versitle... All that a warn is that, you must keep a constant speed, or else it over-reacts. This ball is a good complement to the Hammer line, since i didnt have a good first experience w/ the Blade Reactive(Solid) So GO HAMMER! And keep on making those good bowling balls.

    I freaken love this ball. Shot two 279's, in tourneys and a 277 in league. Shot two 298's and a 300 with this ball as well. Left two pocket 7-10's. Shot a 859 series as well with many 700's. This ball goes real long with great backend. Infact it goes too long sometimes and comes in to late and you will leave a lot of 10 pins with an occasional 7-10. TRUST ME. But all in all this is a great ball. Love it. Works real good on a freshshot but have to play down and in when there is a little carry down. I usually throw a swingers shot but for this ball I will make an exception.

    The Sling Blade is a very decent ball. I bought the ball and had it drilled 10 minutes before a tournament. I went into the tournament and right out of the box i threw it and it hit the pocket and left the 7-9 :O This ball has really good reaction out of box but the more it gets oil into it and you break it in the ball may become too inconsisitent for what you may need. Like i said the ball just launches the pocket into oblivion and it leaves no prisioners until game 30. The Sling Blade is ideal for fresh shots but i would not recremend you use the ball after open bowlers have burned up the heads.

    This ball does exactly what it was made for. On drier conditions this ball glides down the lane with a nice look than slings back to the pocket. Put away when there is oil or carry down. This is probally one of the best additions to the Hammer Blade series. Hammer did a great job on creating this ball and its core. When polished which is should always be, this ball will carry almost every time flush in the pocket or a lighter hit, it has even carried my brooklyn strikes so far. This ball even has a great look to it on and off he lane. This ball looks like it is going to hit the 10 pin on drier conditions than just out of no where takes a left turn(righty)

    This is a very good ball for strokers and beginning finger tip bowlers. I am a cranker so it was definately a different experiance. I think in the future this ball will only be used when the conditions break down in the 3rd game. This ball will not have the awesome backend on a fresh shot. That is ok though because I will be able to bring out the deuce or reloaded in the beginning. For the price this is a superb ball for light oil and broke down conditions. Well I guess there is not much more to say.

    The ball was drilled up for length configuration and delivered pure arcing performance on long - 52, medium -48, and short -36 oil patterns. It was also used on various medium to light oil pattens. I found it has a mome on light oil or fried head configurations. The Sling Blade has a very predictable backend with its pearlized coverstock (which makes it easy to maintain!). Throwing the ball hard is not required to maintain control, so this is the third & fourth game ball when the lanes dry out (and one is too tired to really power the others down the alley!) The Sling Blade also looks very cool as it rolls down the lane for the asthetic enthusiast. Making adjustments with this ball is very easy since the roll is very predictable and forgiving, especially on light hits. As long as the speed is watched and consistent, this ball is truly the one to want. Hammer (Ebonite) has done it again!

    one neat ball. this thing is stonger in the back part of the lane than i exspected. on a fresh house shot with desent back ends this thing is a monster. its to strong for me to play it straight down and in but i am able to play a good swing shot with it. to day i go 254-203 -176 the more carry down i got the more over and under it seemed to play. i get good carry with this ball. i also noticed this ball keeps the pins down low on the deck.. its another great ball by hammer .

    this is the best light oil ball i have ever thrown.It is just what hammer needed to fill in the gap between the blade pearl and the urethane pearl.I cant wait to see what blade they will come out with next.I cant say the sling blade is the best ball in the blade series because i have not thrown the particle yet and the sling blade hates oil.it is not verstle like the blade pearl.But both balls are definatly worth the low price of 150 dallors drilled and plugged.The thing i liked most about this ball is that it has just enough backend to get through just a bit more than light oil.And still not over react on dry-extremly light oil.

    I just got this ball and had it drilled with a weak mass bias drilling to go long and make a strong move on the backend. I am left-handed tweener with medium speed and revs. I am planning to use this for a second shift league where the heads are dry and I did not have anything that retained enough energy at the pins. I used it for the first time in my Thursday night second-shift league where I had struggled the first three weeks with mid 500 sets. This time I shot consistent scores of 199, 201, 206 for my first 600 of the year in this league. While I am not overly excited about my scores, I am impressed with this ball and how it reacts. It does what I intended - it goes down 3/4 of the lane before making a very strong move (not quite skid/flip, but close) toward the pocket. I did not miss the pocket much and when I did not strike I left corner pins (7 or 10). I was able to play from 10-12 out to the gutter and bring this one back with some punch!     the ball is drilled with cg on my center line with 3/4 oz finger weight and no side. the pin is just above and alittle to the left of my middle finger. this ball goes really long! the drilling allows it to save alot of energy and this makes the backend really strong on the drier lanes, but it allow you to play deep. of course as always this ball will just skid on oil but if the backends are fresh and dry it will break hard. i have found success on the drier lanes because the ball has allowed me to open up the lane unlike any ball i have thrown before on dry lanes.

    This ball is the perfect fit in my hammer bag.(Vicious Attack-Blade Solid-Sling Blade). i drilled mine with the pin in between the finger holes to increase it lenght. i bought it for the sole purpose of dry lanes and i got just what i wanted. I used to use my Blade pearl on dry lanes but frequently had to swing it do to the incredible flip in the backend. But now the backend is gone. The Sling Blade fixed that. On dry lanes i was able to play down and in. Which is an incredilbe achievement for me. Normally i could hook a square on dry lanes. The Sling gets great length and then a nice controlible motion to pocket where it explodes just like the rest of the hammer line. No losse in power without the fllip block. Since i finally decided to go with nothing but hammer equiptment i am down to 1-3 corner pins a night instead of the often double digit from my older equiptment. i would reccommend the Sling Blade for all hammerheads that are looking for a dry lane ball.     Imagine bowling a tournament, when all of a sudden the oil just vanishes. Everyone is searching madly for another line, while you reach into your bag and pull out your slingblade. The competition is scratching their heads while you are murdering the pins. This ball is a must for any arsenal. It is a really cool colour too, which always draws attention from other bowlers which makes it easy to spread the Hammer word. This is the third of the new Hammer balls that I have purchased, and they just continue to produce well priced high quality balls. Well done Hammer Bowling!!!
