If you have a budget where you buy bowling balls all the time or need a bal for a specific shot then this is it. If this is intended to be your major ball I would look elsewhere. The shelf life of this ball is around 75 games. (wonder if this is common with Ebonite products, because the vortex sanded was known for the same problem. I have evemn tried to bake it with no avail. k this is filler because I do not have the exact number of words to post this review. Ok a few more words I guess....blah blah blah

Drilled ball with the length layout. Pin just up and to right of ring finger, CG is directly below just above centerline. Needed a ball with a length layout., and found a keeper. With this layout I can play deep inside and give it just a lil room. Ball finishes with a nice smooth arc and destroyes the pins. Even after middle starts to break down can add touch more speed and get the same ball reaction. as with any particle ball i would avoid playing outside in the dry, once it catches dry will start to move left. Overall another fine hammer ball.

Just got the ball drilled yesterday. I threw my league and had a little trouble with adjusting to how to shoot it. The ball is very agressive which i love. It goes long and has alot of backend. the pins had no chance against this ball. I figured out the shot and everyone on my team could not believe what i had changed to. then i shot a tournement right after league and shot a 766, a 252,246.268 made the cut and shot another 246 and placed. I have nothing but good things to say about the ball and NOTHING HITS LIKE A HAMMER! 1/23/06 i shot a no tap tournament and didnt do so well, but the shot was a sport shot and no ones ball was moving an inch. I adjusted as best as i could and missed the cut by 2 pins the first cut i have missed in months needless to say i was not happy. the ball still had great pin action so i still love the ball and it would have been different if there were people that could hook the ball but if i couldnt hook my razor blade no one was going to hook anything.<s

I think the Hammer Razor Blade is another solid addition to the Hammer line-up. The Razor Blade seems to work best on heavier oil partterns. The ball was clean through the fronts, and then picked up at the midlane around 36-42 feet. it has more overall hook than any of the other Blade series. This ball doesn't even seem like it's rolling down the lanes, however when it makes it turn into the pocket it blows the pins away. The ball motion of this ball seems to be sharper than the other Blade series balls such as, the Sling Blade, Sharp Blade, Switch Blade, and Saw Blade. If you are looking for a mid-price ball that can cut through the heavy oil, make sure you have a Razor Blade in you arsenal.

Overall, this ball is a great choice if you need a ball with power and hook. Goes down smooth and comes back to the pocket powerfull, the pins never know what hit them. WHY DIDN'T I BUY THIS SOONER?! I've bowled more 200's than I ever have with this ball in only 2 weeks. 6 200's compared to 2 without, enough said. If you are going to buy a ball with power, precision, and comfort, this is it. Don't be discouraged if you need to tweak the way you throw to get the best out of it, I had to move outside one arrow to get the pocket and the power.<scr

This ball has a 3 1/2" pin Drilled 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" with the pin 1 1/2" above the VAL and 2 1/4" above the midline. I only threw 8-10 shots on a sport shot that had appx 16 games on the lanes. Playing up the boards the ball got good length and made a huge move to the pocket. It Carried some light and heavy hits. I only threw a couple shots on a deep line and really can't give the ball a fair review for that line. . More to follow once I use the ball in competition. I used the ball on a league shot tonight7/28, shot 686. I was impressed with the reaction of the ball . Played 14 to 8 and the ball makes a strong move to the pocket. I only had to move 5 boards deeper all night. Came back and bowled league 7/29 played the same line I played on 7/28 opened up with a 237. Decided to play a little deeper for games 2 and 3 (17 out to 8) and the ball seemed to have trouble kicking out the 10 pin. Needless to say my sparemaking left alot to be desired but I ended up + 15 for the night

i have had such great success with all the blade series that i decided to try this one out.... i used a hook set leverage layout. This ball gets solid length for me and great backend reaction. on the heavier oil i can stay in the middle and still have enough to finish on the end. On med heavy to med oily lanes i can swing the ball out further and still get a get reaction back to pocket. For the price this ball is better than my Real Deal. very similar in ammount of hook but much less out of my wallet. definately is the most hooking of the blade series. last night i rolled 300-248-223 with it in the heavy stuff. need i say more.

The RAZOR BLADE will be the best oil ball for a mid price you can buy. This ball is not afraid of oil and does not quit when you get into the dry. Buddies Pro Shop.com drilled this one for me as well and did a great job. I have left the cover alone so far and used it on the heavy oil with great results. I also have the BIG DEAL and the RAZOR Blade is probably 2 boards less which is awesome for the money. The Big Deal starts up sooner, so if you like an oil ball that gets going in the midlane and keeps going, then the RAZOR is for YOU><sc

I drilled up the Big Block Diesel, Razor Blade, and the Vibe with the same layout. I put the pin 3 1/2 inches from my PAP (positive axis point) and the cg 4 inches. I found the Razor Blade to work best on heavier oil partterns. With the layout that I used, the ball was clean through the fronts, then picked up a midlane around 37-40 feet. You will have the familiar roll pattern of the Blade series, but with more overall hook than any other to day. The ball motion at the break point is sharper than other Blade series balls that I have thrown. I used this on a 43 foot Heavier Oil Sport pattern and this ball was very good. It was able to handle the heavy oil volume and still give me the bit that I need at the pocket. The Hammer Razor Blade is another solid addition to the Hammer line-up. When you need a mid-price ball that can cut through the heavy stuff, make sure that you don't over look this ball. Any questions, please email me at Bill@BuddiesProShop.com Thanks; Bill

LAYOUT: 4” Pin, 45* with X-hole on PAP This is the strongest layout I have ever used in a ball. Condition 1: 36' 10-10 THS This ball surface and layout are really aggressive. I will be keeping this ball as a condition specific ball. I will most likely try another one with a longer pin to PAP, 90*, and polished for the THS shots. Reaction- the ball burns up very quickly due to the cover/layout. I was not really able to tell much from what I was bowling on. Condition 2: 43' Flat pattern 2000 ABC Masters pattern With the balls surface and layout, this ball works well on this pattern. The pattern was laid down in a Summer sport league on Wood. Therefore, there wasn't much friction. This ball worked well when thrown well. When I finally made the right move coupled with the right hand position, the reaction was the potentially the best in the league. The ball reved well in the mid lane and continued incredibly off the back of the pattern. I did brick a 9 on one shot. There
