Switch Blade is the best choice for an all-purpose ball in the Blade Series. Featuring the classic Hammer core with added flip block and the same Power Grip reactive coverstock as found on the original Vicious, Switch Blade delivers strong mid-lane motion with an aggressive backend.

When I got this ball I could not be any happier. The ball reacted great off the dry and exploded in the pocket. After about 30 to 40 games the reaction completely went south. I could have gotten the same reaction out of a White Dot. I tried the usual methods of rejuvinating it... soaking in hot sudsy water, baking, altering the surface and finally resurfacing but nothing. The reaction never came back. I still have an old Purple Reactive Hammer that reacts just as if it were new. I guess Ebonite / Hammer builds in planned obsolecence for their products so they can maximize their profits. Makes me wonder what will happen to Columbia300, Track, and Dyno-Thane products now that they come under the Ebonite umbrella. I guess I'll have to go to Visionary products if I want the true Faball / Hammer quality.

this ball is good on medium oil.....hits hard but not always hook....if u throw outside this ball is not comeback but great impact....if the lane dry...this ball is too much hook....cannot play it on dry....good for medium and light....hook too much on wood....nothing is good if u play on heavy oil..the ball not hook....u must play slow speed to hook the ball.....but this ball better than razor blade.......good for stroker......less of controlabble...need to surface......good for inside angle....this ball will become crazy ball if u throw it with fast speed......not hook ...but still roll.....

Well what can i say about a ball that i payed 20 bucks for hmmmm. I will sum up my review in well atleast 100 words. This ball is a BEAST. The kid i bought it off of said it barely moved for him. Well i am glad he got rid of it. Throwing this ball makes me feel like im in heaven. The power on the backend this ball has is amazing. I really dont know how to describe it. AMAZING ball. A must buy for medium rev players and good ball speed. Nothing hits like HAMMER and I mean NOTHING.<scr

This is a very cool ball for the money. I had it drilled to go long, and it really finishes and carries. Violent snap and viscious messenger action! Not quite the strong power move of the Brunswick Inferno series, but I can chuck the Switch Blade out there when the Absolute Inferno runs out of lane. Seems like the youngsters can't get it to work, but I had this ball for 2 weeks and shot a 278 and 279 with it. Makes a nice contrast to my Absolute Inferno - Might come in handy for the King Pin Lanes regional...Bring it on, "MO is for ME!" See you in 2 weeks?

I love the ball i'm glad i pick it up it compiment the sling blade very well. I got the ball drilled pin above and between the fingers and cg under the ring finger that made the ball very predictable and versitile. With drilling i can play my normal inside lines and when the time calls for it i can move outside and shoot down and in. It's predictability allows for smoother adjustments from ur starting point. This ball is a great overall ball great for just about any shot. Once u own it make sure u pick the right drilling espesially with this ball. Quite a few other guys on other college teams throw it and have some good games with it

I had it drilled with an agressive pin placement to get the ball a little bit farther down the lane and a stronger backend. ON the right lane conditions it does that but once that ball hits oil it is not going to do anything. It is not a good 2nd ball after carrydown. But I guess that the ball does exactly what I told my driller how I wanted it to react. The ball reacts better when it is polished, not a good ball when it is sanded. This was the first hammer ball that I have had drilled and I would consider drilling more hammer balls and also more from the blade line.

This ball was meant for a heavier oiled shot and somone with a moderate ball speed and moderate revs. It clears the front end very easily and has the explosive back end of the original vicious, with the big hammer hit. Pin carry is fantastic as always with blade and it has a sharp but controllable reaction. The ball was drilled stack with a half inch kick out, a 3.25 oz top weight and 2-3 pin. You can really open the lane with this ball and what it rip back. Just make sure you hit your mark because the chances of getting good brakes are slim.<s

I went to a Hammer demo the other day and tried out a few new balls. The first one was the Switch Blade, and I was very pleased with the performance. The ball was drilled in the typical strong pattern with the pin slight below and to the right of my ring finger. I threw on a pair of freshly oiled house shots as well as two different sport patterns. This ball was great on all patterns as long as you made the necessary adjustments in hand position. I was able to throw many different lines on the house pattern with excellent results. The ball slid easily through the fronts revved up in the midlane and made a smooth, predictable move to the pocket, crushing the pins mercilessly. Shot after shot the ball came back from almost anywhere, provided I adjusted my ball speed accordingly. On the sport shot I played more directly up the boards and let the ball finish on the backend. This ball gets through the oil very cleanly and reads the midlane nicely, producing a great finish on the backen

i was looking for something to go to when my blade reactive was too much and my sling blade was not enough. i had this ball drilled exactly like my blade reactive which is a standard label drill. The switch blade worked great on medium oil whether you like to play inside or outside, or swing it. as long as the backends where dry it would come back from almost anywhere you put it. As the lanes really burnt out i found myself having to play 20 to 5 or more. Not the dry lane ball i was hoping for. Possible length drill could correct that thou. The true advantage to the switch blade is that it really opens a lane up to the bowler using it. the polished finish allows you to get out where you want to be and the coverstocks amazing backend hook(when the ends are dry) provides a great recovery from anywhere. it works equally well for those who like to keep their lines tight inside aswell. But if you are looking for a dry lane hammer i would suggest the sling blade or pure hammer. More hook

this is the 1st blade i've drilled and i'm very happy w/ the balls reaction. rolled earlier and w/ more forgiveness than the deal i rolled or the big block diesel. drilled ball w/ a 4x4 layout w/ the pin below the ring finger.this ball is a winner! glad to see hammer has changed their hook rating scale to match ebonite's. hooks a little earlier and smoother than a show time prl. the ball's colors are bright and it really stands out ! good job hammer, i'm impressed w/ all of your new release's.

First off, the ball looks sweet, with the dark blue, purple, and light pink swirl. When it is rolling down the lane, it looks amazing. The ball will go straight through the oil, then release all of its energy in the backend, mostly on the pins. Another plus is how it is very cheap. You can search online, and get the ball for like 90 bucks and then all you have to pay extra is for drilling or shipping, it comes out to a total of 120-130 dollars. That price is included with fingertips and or thumb slug. That price is a lot better then most of the PERFORMANCE balls out there. What a deal<s
