Hammer Sharp Blade Bowling Ball

(10 reviews) Write a Review

While the entire Blade Series is known for a hair-raising hook, it's the Sharp Blade that delivers the most hook for the money, and it makes the delivery with a razor-sharp angular motion. Sharp Blade bullies the lane and the competition, using the Classic Hammer core, which is the same core used in the Sling Blade. Thanks to the high performance Power Grip Particle veneer, the same strong veneer used by Vicious Particle, Sharp Blade goes long and stays strong - even under tough conditions. Sharp Blade delivers the most hook in the Blade series. Using the classic Hammer core shape and Power Grip particle coverstock, Sharp Blade provides an incredible hook in heavy oil.

Scored one ot these on ebay, never got to try one when they were being made. i drilled this one 4" Pap , Cg 5" Pap, no balance hole needed. ( label leverage ) i left the ball in out of box condition and OH MY. This ball out hooks all my other hammers, my Black No Mercy, Both of my Widows (org and pearl) i have not seen this hook out of hammer since my real deal. Unfortunately after 4 years of being an oily house my local alley shortened and lessened their oil pattern so i rarely get to throw it these days. Like most of my hammers the carry is second to none. For a particle cover it is angular and if not used on the proper condition abit unstable at times. For those looking to use this ball on lighter conditions i would definately recommend 4000 abralon and coat of polish before use. In the oil it gives a strong midlane read and quite abit of backend, more than i anticipated. one of the last true heavy oil balls from hammer. if you get the chance for the dollar value you canno

I bought this ball discontinued from Buddies Pro Shop. It was a steal for 50 dollars, and they did a excellent job in setting it up for me. I've never had so many people come up to me and ask what kind of ball I was throwing. If i had known then how great this ball worked for me I'd bought a few of them. I play this ball anywhere from the first arrow to a few boards to the left of the first arrow. It goes down and in better than any ball I've played on that shot.

For about 2 years this was my go-to ball. Again im not sure as to the top weight of this ball. All i know is that its 15 lbs and has a 3 1/4 inch pin. This ball was drilled the same as my High Rev, stacked leverage with a 1' shift to the right. Pin next to ring. This ball was the ball that could do all. No matter where i used it, how i threw it, and no matter what i did to it it would always hook, it would always score, and it would always be the first out of my bag. Not super clean through the fronts, but a big midlane and a nice arc in the backend. The best ball that ive ever thrown. Im sad to now say that this ball of mine is dying, and cant cut it anymore. Ive dont everything to it, minus a resurface, and i think it will be retired. It has served me well, 2 years as a go to ball, a consistant 190-200 average. I might just buy another one though

the best hammer you can have when you are short in cash, i buyed because Hammer discontinued the Vicious Particle and this ball is the most like that ball; have a very similar core and the surface is the same strong veneer that have the Vicious Particle, the ER Power Grip veneer; here in México the lane conditions provides a great game for this ball, is like have your old Blue Hammer, with a strong veneer that make the ball do the same performance in today's lane conditions. This ball still hits hard and in my hands hits ever harder, thats why proudly say NOTHING HITS LIKE MY HAMMER

I had this drilled to go longer, with the pin above and between my fingers and the CG kicked out a few inches. I bowl in a 9 pm league, and usually the lanes are fairly broken down by then, so I needed a ball that I could use on those lane conditions. I realize that not that many people will drill this ball in this fashion, but it works great no matter how badly broken down the lanes are. I am able to throw this ball on a variety of lines depending on what is required. No matter where I throw it, it seems to read the lane great and finish with authority. The fun starts when it hits the pins; I tend to leave 10 pins and over a 5 game series I left only one all night. Stop reading this review and go out and buy this ball.

This ball is hard to beat for the money. performs very well for the price. It hooks hard and it hits hard , turns the corner and demolishes the pins. works great on medium oily to oily lanes will get erractic on the heavy stuff. Color scheme is not the greatest but i can't complain much at this price and with this kind of performance. Another good ball from Hammer. etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.<scri

This is a 14 pound ball with a 2.5 inch pin. I placed the cg on Pap and there is also a huge weight hole on Pap to make the statics legal. The pin is at finger height, The cover of this ball was too strong for the amount of oil I see, so I polished it up. The ball gets through the heads okay, then it revs up in the midlane and arcs into the pins. Very controllable ball with this drill. It works great on a wet/dry. Very little over reaction off of the dry boards. The ball loses hit as the lanes dry up as it doesn't like dry heads or carrydown. This is probably just due to the weak drill. I like this ball a lot on a wetter house pattern with clean backends. It is easy to keep in the pocket and will still hit.

Wow. This ball hooks a lot. It suprised me I thought it would be more like the Sling Blade. Can only use it till the mid of second game on overlay shot cause lanes dry out. Can't use till 3rd game cause i have to wait on the carry down. Clears the deck like no other. Great Ball. Shot 805 in league sunday, just got it friday(2/6/04). i carry 3 200+ averages and 217 tourney avg. This is another great ball from hammer. You got to have oil to throw it. I have a 2-3 pin. Wanted 3-4 but they didn't have it. I throw a swingers shot, about 25 board hook. Carry is outstanding with this ball.

Very nice hook… drive straight through the pocket for a strike almost every time... it is an easy to get used to ball. Very versatile... Excellent ball... it is a ball everyone should own... you are missing out if you don’t... it is very easy to read... it can be the greatest ball for medium-heavy oil… the ball is nice in color feel and reaction… the lanes can be horrible and it will still work wonders… Excellent ball... from one of the greatest names in bowling… HAMMER … drive straight through the pocket for a strike almost every time… Excellent ball!

The Sharp Blade was drilled up for length configuration and delivered solid skid/flip performance on long - 52, medium -48, and short -36 oil patterns. The Sharp Blade went longer on heavy oil but snapped back sharply and predictably into the pocket, clearing the deck. Even adjusting foot placements and ball speeds on heavy oil, I found it easy to find the shot to strike at will. And the sound it makes as it hits lets a blind man know all went down...hard! The Sharp Blade made it easy to adjust on medium lane conditions with minimal efforts and cut through the pins with little to no deflection. The Sharp Blade does not look as colorful as the other new balls while rolling down the lane but hits every bit as hard...REAL hard! Why? Nothing Hits as Hard as a Hammer!
