Columbia 300 Reaction Ricochet Rebound Bowling Ball

(5 reviews) Write a Review

You asked for it! You got it! The Ricochet is back ... as great as it was before. It's still a winning formula, a perfect match of coverstock and core. This champ was just too good not to make a rousing return. The Reaction Ricochet was developed to provide maximum backend reaction on most common lane conditions. Its pearlized reactive coverstock was enhanced with an explosive combination of TEC and Holo-Flex particles. Now, add one unbelievable feature that it didn't have then: A lower sales price. The Ricochet Rebound is competitively priced in the center of the performance ball market. Check out this return to glory of a champion.

Core Technology: Dense core body. Dense energy flip.
Core Technology Benefits: Concentrates the weight near the center of the core for more roll in oil. Add flare potential to the ball for more hook on the backend of the lane.
Coverstock: TEC2
Coverstock Benefit: TEC2 + Holo-Flex: This particle combination creates a controlled midlane roll with significant backend reaction.

As I said I couldn't carry with any 12 pounder I bought. Cost me a lot of $ and couldn't strike. I have a strong release and averaged 207 a few years ago. I bought ths ball cheap on a hunch. It is a blend of resin and particle and supposedly a big back end. Man, was I surprised when I started throwing it. Had a 209 lst game & have been striking like crazy ever since. This hits as hard as some of my 15 pounders if you can believe it. It doesn't roll out though I throw it slow because of my injuries. I have gotten my confidence back because of this ball.

I tried this ball out and was expecting a moderately flippy ball on medium to medium-light oil. This had way much more of a snap than I would ever expect. When it comes to amount of oil, the Rebound can handle medium-heavy quite nicely. This ball made a really hard turn. The only downside is that it does not get very good backend even when it flips hard. to let you know on how much ball this flips, the Rebound flips harder than the Eraser Blaze. I recommend this ball if your a cranker who needs a ball a little stronger than your benchmark ball.

A lot of my bowling buddies have drilled these out with good results, so I decided to try one of my own. Drilled a 15 pounder with about a 3 inch pin. Drilled it pretty much label with the pin just to the right and even with my ring finger and the CG on my grip center shifted about a half inch right. When I first threw it, I expected a bit more reaction, as it made a strong move, but didn't cover a whole lot of boards. Played around with it in league for a couple weeks, but didn't like how inconsistent it was in the backend. Sometimes it would jump early, othertimes it would skate by. Threw it on the Haus machine and hit it with some grey scotch brite pads. That brought the break point in quite a bit, but once it got some oil in the cover, it was perfect. Still makes a strong move, but the break point is earlier and much easier to read, and the ball is much more predictable. A very good ball from Columbia, with a great bang for the buck.

Drilled pin 3 inches north of finger holes at 12 o clock. The ball arrowed for 45 feet then made a left turn, plus the new ball syndrome meaning pins are resting in peace. New bowling ball just show no mercy right away then it seems like they got a mind of their own. Just like job interviews, Once they get a new job they are so hungry to prove themselves since you sink $$$ into them, later as times goes on the ball seems to lose its touch, hopefully this ball has alot of mileage on it. For the price several people have been happy with it, sold 2 of them in a week. Furthermore the ball I drilled was an X-out. Imagine if this ball was first quality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This ball is an x-out due to a color blem and low top wt.It came pin-in 1" with a LOW top wt(less than 1oz.).Nothing fancy with the drilling, just a label drill.Pin is approx 4" from PAP in the center of my grip right above the cg.I didn't expect the backend move this ball gives me,especially since I can get in and play a five to seven board swing(15-10,13-6) and this ball recovers beautifully and just "pops" the pins.I practiced at the house I shoot leagues at after a no tap tournament(4 games). The heads were kind of burnt so I figured this ball could get through them with ease and still have energy for the backends and I was not disappointed. This ball definetly fills a void in my bag and bumps my fantasy X out.It not only goes longer, but it also finishes stronger than my fantasy X.I also used this ball in a tournament and did very well with it.I don't know what the original ricochet was like ,but I love the sequel!!! Thanks Columbia for bringing this one back.
