This was the 1st ball I ever owned. I bought it used and pre drilled. pin under left index finger. I used it for about 300 games over a 5 month period. (99cent tuesdays, and all you can bowl sundays) It arcs really nice, and will come off the gutter. (unlike my new bully) I used it for spares and it worked great. It hit hard, but does not hook hard. I had a really hard time rolling strikes with it on oily lanes. The ball does not need to be cleaned that often. This is a very controlable ball. Overall it is a good ball and i liked it alot.<scrip

The ball has amazing comback throughout the mid-lane and the backend. This ball seems to come back in a very heavy oil condition. You can throw multiple shots with this ball and still have it come in to the pocket. Trust me, if you are looking for a little more umph on your ball. Take the formula. This ball will just keep on impressing you although I have found it rolls a bit awkward but not enough to effect the shot you make. Don't crank this ball. This ball is for a average speed bowler, not a cranker. Good luck with the Formula.<scri

The Formula is an excellent ball for heavy oil. It can play deep inside or up the boards if needed, so long as there's oil where you roll it. The ball definitely has a bit of a niche because of it's aggressive nature. There isn't much of a skid snap reaction. The break point is a bit earlier than some balls, but it always powers through the condition. Certainly not an everyday ball, but when oil is heavy and hook is sparse, the Formula is unstoppable. It probably won't last the whole day as it absorbs alot of oil, but for what it does, there's no better.

The best I can compare this ball to is the Rock On but just a little stronger. If you drill it right it will not disappoint. The second drill I did was pin under my ring finger with the CG kicked out to one ounce side, then a weight hole to bring back to 1/2. This ball just screams confidence. Can't miss with this ball. The only thing is like I said before hits too hard. I leave so many nines, and eights that it brings my sets down lower then they should. If you like a ball with a nice midlane roll and a very big bend I recommend this one.<scri

The most important thing about this ball. You have to get it drilled perfect for what you are going to do. Good for med-hvy oil patterns. A constant release is good idea also. I got it couple months ago and I got a unique drilling on this ball, which works for me. Has a strong hooking motion when it catches some dry boards. I used this ball at a open house tournment, the oil pattern was type B. It left some corner pins and few split. For the most part a good ball and a good tool if you know when to put it up. If it's to oily it won't grab and get a very light shot, if any. To dry and it moves couple feet early which is not a good result. I do not regret buying this ball, good for the money, or as they say 'more bang for the buck'.

THIS BALL IS A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. COLUMBIA IS RELEASING 1 TO MANY BALLS A TIME. THEY NEED TO GO BACK TO THE DAYS OF RELEASING SOMETHING AND IMPROVE ON THAT BALL PENDING ITS SUCESS. BUT NO... THEY DO JUST THE OPPOSITE. REMEMBER THE ICON, NOW THAT BALL WAS GOOD, THEN THE ICON2, THAT BALL WAS EVEN BETTER, THEN THE ICON300, WASTE OF MONEY, THE TRIED TO DO THE HOLE HEAVY PARTICAL LOAD THING AND IT SUCKED, THE COMES THAT HOLE THROTTLE SERIES, ONCE AGAIN WASTE, AND WHAT WAS REALLY FUNNY THEY TRIED TO MAKE A BALL LIKE THE BRUNSWICK INFERNO..AND THE FAILED AGAIN. WHAT EVER U PEOPLE TRIED TO ACCOMPLISH W/ THIS FORMULA. SCRAP IT AND TRY AGAIN. YOUR BEST BALLS HAVE BEEN THE CHAOS, THE MESSENGER LINE, THE SCOUT, THE ORGINAL WICKED, AND THE ROCK ON. START OVER. MAKE BALLS THAT WORKED WELL FOR EVERYONE.
