Columbia 300 Ti Messenger Bowling Ball

(18 reviews) Write a Review

This ball out-hooks any of the previous Messenger balls. This multi-colored ball has the aggressive Super-Flex cover for maximum hook. It has a strong mid-lane arc for control with plenty left on the backend for a greater entry angle into the pocket. Columbia also included its Titanium ceramic core at the center for more hitting power. The ball is Red/Blue multi-colored with Yellow engraving. Pins quake when this seasoned warrior roars toward them. Armed with a super performing core technology, it shows off a higher rate of rotation and more hook potential than any Messenger™ that came before it.

Core Technology: (14-16 lb.) - Core-in-a-core technology with enlarged flip blocks with fired, undrillable Titanium Ceramic core.
(12-13 lb.) - Inverted bulb shape/integral core.
Core Technology Benefits: This dense Titanium ceramic core concentrates mass at the center of ball, generating more rotation off the bowler's hand, which equates to more hook potential.
Coverstock: SuperFlex
Coverstock Benefit: This aggressive coverstock produces a strong, arcing motion at the break point, yet still conserves energy to produce a good backend reaction.

i have owned the messenger ti for quite some time. i just got around to putting grips in it like 2 days ago and i threw it tonight for the first time in leauge. i ended up shooting a 607 with a 235 high game. this ball is great. in a house where there is virtually no room to play, very unforgiving, somehow i ended up with like 15 boards to play with. its like the headpin is a magnet and the ball is metal. i had 7 solid pocket shots in a row and didnt leave one 10 pin or 7 pin, only ended up tripping out the 4 one time. i swear this ball is like a godsend. i only wish i wouldve bothered to put grips in it sooner so i could average a little more than 180.

I start with this. My Tremor at the time was pretty beat up. I replaced it with the Messenger Ti. What a choice. I've gotten all my personal bests with this ball. It's drilled to go long and snap hard. It started out factory finish, because of drier wood lanes. Then I moved to Joliet, IL and sanded it because of a little bit more oil and carry-down. It is a great all around ball. I've had it for six years. It has @ 300 games on it, never been resurfaced untill it was repaired. The Messenger still hits hard. The coverstock and weightblock are perfect for my game. It's good on any shot heavy, light, long or short.

loved it great ball for the price i got it. i have owned and used green messenger, messenger ti, messenger ti pearl blk/gold, messenger tec, and most resently messenger ti pearl b/p/s. the normal ti was great it hit hard and moved well. it gave me the ability to do my famous gutter to gutter 7 pin pickup. I used it at 14lbs for 3 years till i got my hands on a icon then everything changed but untill then this was my ball. never had any bad things about this ball. if i had one still drilled to the way i had it i would be set.

I like the ball very well. I have seen alot of people use it and with various bowling styles. Many of you say the ball is horrible in heavy oil, I would have to dissagree with the statement. Sure it does not have this huge hook, but if you play the lanes correctly, you can get it in the pocket in any lane condition. If any thing, the ball hooks too much in dry lanes, but I do not like a ball that hooks alot. Even though I don't like it in dry lanes, I use it any ways, I just take a different approach.

I bought the ball about 2 years a go and it still moves like new. I bought it and rolled a few games on it, didn't like the surface so i had it resurfaced with a red scotch brite and polished and it was like night and day. It did what I needed it to and got my love of bowling back. The ball just goes down teh lane and just breaks hard. It takes a while to figue out how to throw the ball so you dont leave those pesky corner pins, but when you figure it out the ball is just amazing.

i had the ball drilled diffrent than my other onesw for a reason and it really payed off. I can take out this ball when the carry-down starts to take hold and i can really muscle my way threw it. pending i make a few adjustments with hand position. it really is nice to have. it really snaps hard after going very long. i actually used it one day for a gutter shot when the lanes were solid carry down and i needed the ball to go very long. might i add it worked extremly well. enjoy a very versitale ball

Good ball and recomend it on medium lane conditions. In oil the ball will have a nice ark but in dry may snap a little hard. The ball is one of the best columbia balls made, ecxept for the pearl beast. Would not recomend it for a begginer. I won a tournament with this ball, I was play fourth arrow and was getting some good carry with the big entry angle in the pocket. If you play down and in your may leave some flat tens. When the heads break down it is time to put this ball away because it will start to hook early.

Okay, I bought this ball to replace my REALLY old Columbia Pirahna and was pleased with its reaction and movement out of the box. I bowled my only 700 series with it, but haven't been able to do anything with it since. It's now my second choice out of the bag, used only in dry conditions or when I feel like swinging the ball in very light oil. There are a lot better balls than this one, but I feel I got my $140 use out of it after a year and a half. It payed for itself after several tournaments and will remain in my bag as a viable second option.

Well, Ive had my Messenger Ti for 3 years now.. Its still kicking butt. But it will very very easily get cuts on the ball. Will strike on pocket. Very forgiving, but not for heavy oil. Its controllable, after awhile youll start seeing 10 pins, just a little step back adjustment will fix that though. However the ball will last for a while if properly taken care of.. This ball sucks the big one on heavy oil, dosnt really have a chance. But when the lanes are wet i pull my Icon 2 out, that ball works well on heavy oil. I use my messenger on light to medium oil. Hasnt done me wrong yet. Highest game i could break with it was a 279. But the highest i could break with my Icon 2 was a 300. :)<scrip

This ball is a great ball, but there are better. It is still my first ball out of the bag, but only because the house I bowl in finally started oiling heavy before our league. It makes a good early move with plenty of power in the back. Its not overpowering, but it definitely gets the job done. I have well over a thousand games on it, but it has never been a problem. It still goes log on drier shots, but there are better pearl balls with a stronger move that this one. All in all it is a one of the best I have had, but with more money there are better balls out now.

The ball has a terrific impact and good hook yet it has awful consistency. The ball is rated as a yellow dot yet my predator which is a white dot, is more durable. My messanger is lined with scratches, cracks and chips although I took great care of it. It has terrible response to oil and if it hits a patch of dry forget it. you might as well be throwing sand paper down the lane. Considering the price and it's durability, it is awful. If you are a beginner learning to hook, it is a good ball. If you like to throw hard, stay away because it won't respond

Good ball for all conditions but doesnt tend to do good if u like to hit the pocket high.Leaves lots of 4's. Forgiving if you hit th pocket light but if you hit it high hello 4 pins. Overall it is a pretty good ball and i would recomend it to someone who wants one ball to stick with for a while. Lasts pretty long, about a year. Doesnt reactas well when it is in heavy oil far down the lane. Good snap at the backend and slides far down the lane before it starts to hook. GREAT BALL!!!

Overall, this is and i think will be the best choice i have ever taken in choosing a bowling ball. I have had excellent results with this so far, and i plan to have even better in the near future. It is the best reactive ball i have ever owned. If you like a ball that is easy-to-read(in finding the shot), has excellent hook, and holds great power within, concider choosing the Ti Messenger from Columbia 300. Trust me, this ball is excellent and should truely be in everyone's arsenal. It truely sends the message to pins.... FALL DOWN !!!<s

This ball will work for anyone who has enough power to get the ball out fine on the lane. But unless you can get good ball speed I wouldn't recommend this ball for you. Do to the fact that if you do not get enough speed when the bakk breaks to hit the pocket it will leave a lot of 5, 7, or 10 pins standing. Best to ask any local Pro Shop what type of ball would be good for you. So overall I would give this ball a 9. It is the first ball out of my bag and the last ball to go in.

For a ball that is sold for under $150, this ball is hard to beat. It rolls very even and hits like a mac truck. I have found that you do not have to have a lot of hand in this ball to make it work for you. I love the fact that i can fluff the ball and it will still move and hit. Great ball for a new bowler or someone who is not necessarly a power player. For a power player who wants a ball that can be controlled and tamed, this may be a wise decision, I have been able to play deep inside with it and have sucess. This ball will give you the most bang for the buck.

15#, 2.5oz top weight, drilled stacked leverage. The ball is highly polished (2000 grit) out of the box and will make a good skid snap ball for medium conditions. I wanted it for med/heavy oil, so I dulled it to ~1000 grit with liquid sandpaper. Not nearly as squirty now, rolls with more of an arc. Left polished, it gets a lot of length. I threw quite a few games with it on wood lanes that are dryer than the lanes I wanted it for. The backend and hit are unbelievable for a ball that costs around $80. I don't throw that much new stuff, but this is the hardest hitting ball that I've thrown. If you want a ball for clean backends, the Ti-Messenger is hard to beat for the money. Dulled, it is much more predictable. It will get into a roll much earlier and arcs instead of snaps. No hitting power is lost by dulling the cover. You could keep one shiny (maybe drilled 5x5) and one dull (leverage) and cover 90% of the conditions the average league bowler will see.

I bought this ball because it got good reviews on the internet, was very popular in my area(philly), and the pro shop recomended it.It was drilled 16lbs pin under ring finger. If i threw my normal ball speed it hooked to late leaving many 7 and 10 pins. In box condition I was averaging 6 nine pin counts a game and one 7-10 split a game. I averaged 20 pins less with the TI then with any other ball I had. I polished it for dry but it hooked to much. I sanded it for oil but it wouldn't hook enough. I finally sold it for $30. I was happy to see the ball go. It just was a disaster for me. LOUIE

Can you say flip...wow can this ball turn. This one is drilled with the pin above the fingers and the cg slightly kicked out (this on is pretty much drilled under my palm). This one has 5,000 squeeky on it. It cleans the heads as well as any ball I have and when it hits the dry takes a turn left harder than any ball I have every thrown. If you dull this one down it will give you an arcing motion to the pocket and is much more controlable. The factory polish does not work well with this ball. This surface will also allow you to throw the ti on a fairly heavy shot. All in all this is a very versitile ball. 7 out of 10.
