Picked this ball up a few weeks ago. I had it drilled pretty much straight up because I was tired of the inconsistent reaction of my Vertigo and needed a ball for average house conditions. This ball hooked hard and consistent so I picked up the speed and have been having a great time. Hits hard and lets me adjust to its consistent reaction. I think if I coud generate even more speed, this ball would still come back. This ball has good looks, strong roll, and will keep hooking. It allows you to play anywhere from outside to inside depending on the pattern. Recommend this ball to anyone if you can find one.

This is the best ball that I have ever owned, by far. Picked it up used, online for under $10. Had it re-drilled, baked and resurfaced and it has become the first ball out of my bag every week. No matter what lane conditons I bowl on, light, medium or heavy oil, it hooks. I cannot miss the pocket with this ball. When it hits, it just drives through the pocket, and drives the pins to the deck. What an incredible ball. I have never bowled with another ball that I had such incredible confidence with. When I got it, I definately didn't think it would become the replacement for my ICON 2 which died, like everyone said it would.

Fantastic Ball!! I bowled my first 300 with it on a fairly dry and broken down condition. Drilled straight over the label to go long. Bought it second hand, it had about 30 games on it and had been resurfaced. It worked the lanes beautifully but lost some sting and needed repolishing after about 50 games. Used it pretty regularly for about 8 months until I bought a new ball and it became reserve. I bought ball spinner about 6 months later and as a test gave this ball a light sand with 800 grit and polished with ebonite factory finish. Threw 300 with it that night.

This ball is great for dry lanes. I like how when they are dry I can move really deep and get a great reaction. It doesnt seem like a typical dry lanes ball, but if you play deep it will do nothing but good. I bowled my second highest game, a 223 with this ball on dry lanes. All you have to do is know what a good shot feels like and throw the ball like that over your mark. It doesn't usually get all jumpy so you don't have much margin for error either. The reason I don't give it a 10 is because its hard to get a good amount of revs. I find my self having to force the hook too much on medium oil.

Basically, this ball I got from my friend with plugged twice. In the beginning stage,I only demand one dry lane ball for some extremely dry pattern games. Then I did find the messanger works well as my request. Moreover,I tried to throw it on mid to heavy oil lane patterns to see what going with itself...Then I was suprised that this ball can also works well on mid-oilly lane & still carry pins hard.Messanger Ti is great coverstock with core design for all level bowlers to play. You will not disapoint with Messenger Ti!! But one thing you need to remind is Messenger Ti will need often clean the surface.Otherwise it may not move well when dirt or belt residues remaining on it.

This is the best ball I've ever owned. I bowled my first 300 with it and missed an 800 series by 7 pins. If you're bowling on a heavy oil shot it won't hook but it's perfect for a mid to light oil shot. Had mine drilled to go long and it got through the heads very clean with a nice snap to the pocket. If I'd have known it was going to get retired I'd have bought 4 of them when I got my frist one. Thankfully, it's back!!! Columbia, please don't ever retire this ball!!!

drilled this on 4.5 x 3.5, has some pos static, got this one mainly for dryer shots, turns out it really turns a corner in the back end, ( as long as there is no carry down), so it is a medium condition ball. Heavier oil, goes to long... dryer shots, over reacts... but on all medium shots, if thrown reasonably well, is a good ball... hits good, I do tend to leave alot of 4 pins(rt hander) with this thing, is a little strong on the back end if dry down there. I throw MED. speed, rev's, tilt, axis rot.

Now read this very carefully because this review should make all of you understand this ball and others like it. First of all the ball is drilled with the pin over the ring finger and the cg kicked out about an inch. It has a 3 inch pin by the way. Now, I've used this ball on dry, medium and oily conditions so far. By far, for me anyway, it's best on the medium oil. Why you ask? Simply because I throw the ball between 12 and 14 MPH. If I threw faster, let's say around 16-18 MPH or more, then I would be able to play dry lanes better with it. But at my ball speed, it hooks over to the opposite gutter on the dry (I put alot of hand in the ball by the way). I tried this ball on a lane that was freshly oiled and it slid and slid and slid without much turn even at 12 MPH. But I think if I could slow my ball speed down to about 8 MPH or so, I could probably get it to hook on heavy oil as well. Of course if you don't put much rotation on the ball, and you throw say 20 MPH or so, then you could

great ball from columbia300. you can play just about any line, up the 5 or 10, or you can play deep with it. i always play deep with it unless the condition calls for a straight-up approach. i shot 279 with it and it should hav been a 300 cuz i left a 7 pin. ive shined it up before and its not recommended if it goes long already. also you can use it for a spare ball if u calm it down a little bit. my friend who is also a lefty agrees that my messenger is a bad ball and he throws mostly columbia to.

this is the first reactive ball i have owned and it did me pretty good. it took a few times to get going but it has paid off. i have relatively dry lanes where i go but its no biggy it still handles and when it becomes insanely dry dont get discuraged just move to the left and raise your backswing. in fact i liek it better it leaves alot of power on the backend the pins just x-plode. this is truely a well-priced, well-performing beginners ball. and i just luv the color black and gold is the way to go. i dont like how when they over-oil the lanes juss a tad it slides into the gutter. i dont know if it is just the alley i go to or time but my ball has picked up quite a bit of battle scars. ok spare ball juss turn your wrist and you're good ta go it juss needs help on ten pins sometimes<scri

I'm sure this ball would be great for someone with low revs, just not for me. I have had this ball for about 2 years. I throw medium speed with a lot of revs, so when I saw that this ball was a pearl, I thought, 'Wow, this ball will get down the lane, and it's pretty cheap too.' I think my ratio of pocket strikes to brooklyn strikes with this ball has been about 1:5. I was thinking about having this ball redrilled for length, but I have already bought a Storm Eraser P/P for that niche. If you're looking for a ball that will curve regardless of conditions & revs, the Messenger Ti Pearl is your ball.

A buddy of mine had some trouble with this messenger and gave it to me for FREE. I threw it and man was I shocked. I was wheeling the lane with a mid range ball in a house that was having trouble with a hugh out of bounds. I know why so many people throw this ball and it got voted best ball of 2000/2001. This is a great ball and if you don't have one go out and get one. Just beware that it does hook and can be extremely over-under. You get what you throw so be consistant. In my opinion this is a good ball, but Storm's Trauma ER has a similar reaction that carrys better and is not so speed sensitive.

I nearly purchased this ball from this sites commercial partner, BuddiesProShop.com, but my dependable and savvy coach wuz looking to get rid of hiz barely used 4 a pretty price. Many people had recommended this ball 4 me 4 medium-light synthetic lanez, az I had complained about my stronger, particle equiptment hooking 2 early and having nothin left in the backendz. Thus, I had my mentor plug and redrill hiz, with a more aggressive layout than he utilized. The pin iz just above the ring finger, with the CG slightly kicked out (I think . . .). Anywayz, it sure-az-hell equalz the best skid-flip ball I've ever thrown. This ball TOTALLY ignores the headz, no matter what the kondition, then just plain unloadz on the backendz, turning the korner without even signalling. The only true nemesis of this ball is neglected lanes (i.e., ludicrous carrydown), which will take some of the punch out of this ball. This should come as no suprise to anyone who throws/has thrown mid-level equipment

Not too great with every drilling pattern, but I'm pretty sure this has a stacked leverage drilling. I've had this ball for over a year now, and it still leaves me confused somedays. I've shot most of my highest games and series with it. When the condition permits, this ball carries really well. When there is a fair amount of carrydown, just put this away. I'd say this ball is for medium to light oil. For the price it is quite versatile. On really light oil i can usually play up 4th arrow and it will carry pretty well. On medium oil i can play up 2nd arrow and can make it to the pocket alright unless the backends are soaked. The oddest thing about this ball, many times this ball just won't seem to cut it. It will hook, but be very inconsistent. I'll end up using a ball that's way too much for the condition and just have to make drastic adjustments. Overall, I give this ball 8 pins out of 10. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. MrH

I think Columbia 300 has struck gold with the messenger TI pearl version this is the most predictable and inevitably hard hitting ball in my arsenal which consists of five balls. I was really impresed with this ball especially on the whole bang for the buck aspect. I cant say Ive bowled a 300 with it yet or anything like that because Ive barely used it ( The lanes at my local bowling alley are usually pretty oily :P) However so far everything I have used this ball for I am fairly impressed and I believe this ball will stay in columbia's arsenal for 2004

The Ti Messenger Pearl really surprised me. I was expecting a Pearl Pulse like reaction which got down the lanes well, then smoothly arced into the pocket. Instead, I got a ball that got down the lane well but jumped when it encountered dry. This extra pop is awesome because it hits very very hard and has a good amount of entry angle and carry. I have mine drilled 3 x 3 with the pin below my ring ringer (to cut out some of the sharpness at the breakpoint). It is a great ball on heads that are drying because it gets through them with ease. It also allows me to move inside because it will comeback strong provided it comes accross a dry board on the backend.

Like I said this will compliment my new FLIP SLIDE WOW. After the lanes dry up a little I put my WOW away and roll this ball over the same spot and stay there there the rest of night. This ball has a nice backend when it makes the turn it hits hard. Im a lo rev player and I had this ball drilled lable with the pin just off the pinky. It has 4oz of top weight with the pin 3" out. I love this ball Im going to buy another one before they stop making it. Try this low priced ball you wont be sorry Tom
