Columbia 300 Messenger TEC Bowling Ball

Columbia has combined the extremely successful Messenger Titanium core with their highly aggressive multi-color TEC (Texture Energy Control) coverstock. The Titanium nugget in the center produces more hitting power; the unique design of the core creates a medium-low Rg (2.547) and medium-high differential RG (0.042) for 4-6 inches of flare; and the modified TEC shell containing suspended glass particles adds hook. When you put them all together the Messenger TEC obtains an early arcing break point even in oil. The Messenger TEC is blue/red/yellow multi-color with gold engraving. The punch is in the mix. That's the success story behind our Messenger™ TEC. It teams up with our crowd-pleasing Messenger Ti™ core with our super-aggressive TEC™ shell. Suspended glass particles add traction to chew through oil. With plenty of high energy for a strong arc on the backend, it's headed to its destination. The message hits home.
Core Technology: (14-16 lb.) - Core-in-a core technology with enlarged flip blocks with a fired, undrillable Titanium ceramic core.
(12-13 lb.) - Inverted bulb shape/integral core.
Core Technology Benefits: This dense Titanium ceramic core concentrates mass at the center of the ball, generating more rotation off the bowler's hand, which equates to more hook potential.
Coverstock: TEC
Coverstock Benefit: Small suspended particles help the ball hook in oil but retain enough energy for a strong arcing backend.

When I first got this ball in 08/2000, I used its out of the box finish in a medium hosue. The ball has a nice, smooth arc to the pocket once it gets out of the oil. Currently using it polished for a light to dry lane house and it has a smooth predictable arc to the pocket. The polish prevents it from burning up before hitting the pocket like a train. I would recommend it to any one who does not want to spend full price for a top of the line ball. Great mid priced ball! Another hit by Columbia.

the first 2 month i played like a pro i went from 172.25 to 194 avg then for some strange reason it stopped its hook completly,(maby i am doing somthing wrong i might need to resurfece it) to strike with, however the messenger tec ball still is a great messenger ball it will keep pins low. i am currently trying out a predator from ebonite and it looks promising so i'll be back with a rewew after a couple of month i think everybody shoulh wait a couple of month when they review a ball happy hunting

I really like his ball... I have had it for about 3 months now, and it has been the first ball out of the bag. I bowl on wood lanes with wood approaches and sometimes when they let them go dry, I can't use it, but on a regular league condition, including second shift, I love this ball... Once I find my line, it follows it again and again. Definitely A keeper. If you get a chancet o pick one of these up for a decent price, go for it. The TEC Coverstock along with the Weightblock makes for a very hard hitting ball in the right hands. =)
