I BOUGHT THIS BALL WHEN IT CAME OUT WAY BACK WHEN IT WAS MY FIRST HOOK BALL ITS BEEN SITTING IN IT BOX FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS SITTING NEXT TO MY NEW HAMMER OFFSET. I WAS BOWLING DURING THE WEEK AT OLD SETTLERS IN UNION DROVE WISCONSIN AND NOTHING WAS FINISHING RIGHT TO THE OCKET MY MACHINE BIG BULL MEAN MACHINE AND EVEN MY NO MERCY WAS NOT FINISHING RIGHT EVEN WHEN I THREW IT AT 10 MPH AND LOWERED MY REVS SO LAST SUNDAY I BROUGHT THIS BALL WITH ME FOR A TOURNEMENT AND IT WAS AMAZING ONLY LEFT ME ONE 10 PIN AND ONE SOLID 8 PIN I LOVE THIS BALL NOW

The ball is absolutely great. Its my go to ball on all conditions. If its a longer sport shot I can play up the outside and crush the hole all night. If it gets drier i can move inside and it still hits like a champ. I drilled my middle finger through the pin and put the cg jus outside of my ring finger. The ball can be thrown on anything. The first night i drilled it i shot 300 on a burnt out shot. The ball cleared the heads like no other. I throw it on all the sport shots long short and medium its rolls great on all three of them. It is the R&D version that was not for resale. It replaced a cracked ball that was discontinued. One of the greatest balls i have thrown.

With todays house shot they putting on the lanes its better to play inside the lane than swinging the ball across the lanes like normal. This ball gives you great length and allot of backend. Playing this shot has elminated allot of the of the 10 pin problems I have been having.. Most important u can change the cover stock on this ball and make it stronger or weaker. This isn't a jumpy ball, but a smooth arching ball and would recommend this ball for any and everybody.. GET ONE BEFORE THEY ARE ALL GONE AND YOU WILL BE VERY SATISFIED <

Good for maybe 50 games beyond that its not gonan do anything. Had it sanded, would hook again for a few games then die again. Overall not what i expect from Columbia 300, If u uses it for down and in shots it is a good ball. Id ont recommend it for crankers or someon who is looking to hook the lane becsue its just not gonna happen. Like i said before it was great at first, but i got annoyed wiht it very quick. One word of advice if u get one and wantt oto hook u better have it drilled up very aggressive otherwise it wont move like u want it to.

I purchased this ball to update my old Cuda/C's and that it did. So far, it's been a major improvement. I wanted higher games of course but I also wanted (needed) more consistency from week to week. Scores have increased and I've nailed about 20+ dueces in only 2-3 weeks. The factory finish should NOT be messed with until you've rolled enough to warrant a change. I couldn't imagine sanding this ball. I bowled an Open Scratch Tourney with oil pattern "C" (long) and it required slowing down ball speed until the 4th and 5th games, then it came alive. Overall I love it and wish I had it much sooner.

Well, I recently got this ball in trade for a 15 LB Inferno. It is drilled stacked with a weight hole. I haven't had this ball long enough to pass too much judgement on it. I'm only going by what I have seen so far. One night, the conditions were basically medium to dry and the ball skidded down the lane for about 45 feet before making a strong snap on the backend. Revved up very nicely and the reaction was very predictable and controllable. The following night, dry again with some carrydown. The backend was basically completely gone. If I played straight up 10, I could barely get the ball to the pocket. Tried it again today and same thing. Carrydown and my Triple Threat outhooked it. There isn't too much else to say about it. I wouldn't invest the money for one of these new in box. This is a good 1st game ball, but once the lanes carrydown, put it away as hook is nowhere to be found. I'll write another review after throwing this ball in a dull finish.

i love this ball it is the first ball out of my bag and the last to go in and that says a lot because i carry 5-11 balls with me at a time(u never know what the lanes will toss at you.). i mean it is what they said it is multi ball it can be the late hooking backed ball when polished and then it can be the early roll ball when sanded and then it can be the mid-perfomace ball when in box condition. if they didnt discontinued it i would buy another one. cant wait till they make a limited edition one.

This ball is one of the few balls when sanded(220 grit) it and it won't over hook on a med oily condition. A very steady ball arcing ball. Just don't let the ball go too long or you will have 9 counts. Medium speed( 14- 16 mph) , is when I had the best carry. I made enough money the first night for the ball to pay for it's self and then some. shoot over 700. Best ball I have used since my Track Triton Heat. I was not too crazy about the color though. But whatever works, is fine by me.

I hesitated on getting this ball because of the bad reviews I read. Finally I got it, I wanted to see how it was for my game. Very consistant roll, dull and polished. Very strong contact with the pins. This is probably the first ball that I have thrown that comes with a polish on it, and it actually hits harder with the surface sanded. The only factor that keeps this ball from being a 10 is that in the factory condition it is supposed to react like a reactive ball, it does to a degree, but it does not handle carry down well at all. I have a Track Voo Doo that handles carry down better, and that ball should not be nearly as strong as the Icon. This is the only ball in the Icon series that I have, mainly because the other 2 did not interest me at all. I picked the right one out of the 3 to get.

I tore my bicep bowling two years ago. When I came back last season I was a little nervous about getting back into the swing of things. (Ha!) I wanted to make sure I had good equipment, so I purchased the ICON. This ball has singlehandedly raised my average from a 170 to a 185 in one season. I am a stroker and this ball really hooks into the pocket on the backend. The backends are dry at my home lanes so I love the reaction that it makes and really slams into the pins well. Recommended! The only bad thing is that it leaves the 8 or 9 pin really often for some reason.

Overall i think it is a really good ball and that if you like a ball that moves this is the one for you. i think it was a good use of my money. IF you have a chance to buy the ball you should buy it. it is really good and i think anyone would like it. It is my favorite ball and i am planning on using it a long time. BUt overall it is a really good ball and you should buy it. the nine counts can be picked up so don't be scared of that. "a good bowler picks up the spares and strikes are just extra." (just a quote from me). i am also looking for a new ball b/c i have over 200 games on this one but my average has gone up 12 pins now since i started using it. i would like to have another columbia. i put a post on new balls under columbia message board if you have any suggestions. thanks. later

RIps the rack, Consitent, and the Cover stock seems to be holding up well. Sucks in Heavy oil Bag it in the desert The color is really ugly!!! After a few games, some patience, and some consulting with my coach, I've been blowing away the competition. My average jumped from a 193 to a 206 and I held it all year. Altering the cover stock on this baby isn't too hard either!! This ball loves room (atleast for me), don't be afraid to play a huge line with it, this bad boy will still have enough energy to get nestled into the pocket and decimate the pins!!! I like the Muscle Cover Stock, I think Columbia did a descent job of finding the right combination so that it doesn't break down after 30 games. Also, I was happy to finally find a ball that does get tremendously knicked up. My last two Storms, the Tour Power and Lightning Flash knicked up like mad.

My cousin and I decided to trade bowling balls for awhile. I got his Icon and he got my Trauma. I couldn't believe how hard this ball hit. I'm notorious in most of my leagues for leaving the 10 pin during a good string of strikes. No matter how many people yell BOOM!!! the damn thing stays up. This ball trips out MOST of them...but not all. I tomahawk the 10 pin a lot more when I should leave a weak 10 but the six chops it down. Plus I can play various shots with this ball. I can play the Norm Duke outside line like when he shot his 300 on TV or play the deep inside line. It all works out well. I recommend this ball to everybody.<sc

this ball is really a hard hitting ball....if you want powerful backend this ball would be right for you. even though it says this ball is for heavy oil..i would say that its more like medium to heavy...it can play heavy oil very well..but then youll meet that 45 ft of oil... even though my warrior brusier and addiction can outhook this ball..it still beats them all with the control, backend and reading... m m m m m m m m m mm dfz f f ff f asd z z z z z z zzz z z z z z z z z zz z zz z z z z z z bah bah bah bah bah ....can you tell im trying to reach 100 words . . . .. .

I bought this ball yesterday and so far Ive played only four games with it using only this ball by itself. At first I wasnt really impressed for two hundred dollars because I bought my Classic Rock for only one forty and It has a stronger backend reaction.... well that was my first imipression until of course I adjusted to the ball and started stroking It right at which point I found that the ball has an amazing back end and great power. My only real complaint is that in heavy oil I feel like I have to slow it down alot and rotate the ball alot more to get a good reaction out of it which is pretty labor intensive. All and all I say this is a good ball which is worth its money but If you can look for an older classic rock for cheaper which is basically the same ball but I like the tec 2 coverstock better.

I didn't here anything good about this ball but I figured what the Hell why not I like my messenger Ti. when I got this thing I was struggling to find a ball that would work on that shot. my blade wasn't strong enough and the fuel was to strong. so when I through this I wasn't sure what would happen but it smashed into the pocket. and when I looked up their wasn't a pin left on the deck. I think this is the ball that Columbia 300 should measure all of the rest to. if you have this in your arsenal you'll be a force to be reckoned with every week.

I shot a 690 series with it and won the monmouth county chamipionship! I've seen two 300 games thrown with this ball as well. Heavy oil is a little too much for the ball to handle though. Medium oil is or the house shot is great for the ball. I was pleased to see my high game thrown-268. I thought i was going to get a 300! Once you find the right mark you'l be hitting strikes like mad!!! This was one of the best ball I have in my bag and i always take it out during practice.

This ball only works on certain conditions it seems. There needs to be decent back-ends, and a good amount of head oil for this ball to even have any reaction. Otherwise it hits like a powder puff. When it's on the right shot, I crush 'em. I haven't shot any huge numbers with it, but I've shot a few high 700s at Milford, and some high scores in the summer time. I, otherwise, I have to give this only a 7, because it's not a good all-around ball, and you can definitely live without it in your arsenal.

Huge, and I mean huge backend. Not flippy but a continuous arc to the pocket. Once this ball makes its' move, it better have room because it is coming back a long way fast! Doesn't seem to roll out, even on drier lanes. Hits hard and drives through the pocket. Perfect ball for wet lanes with outside dry boards. Needs to find the dry boards to hook but once it finds them, it is coming back with power. Not the biggest hooking ball out there but more than enough to get the job done. Sanding the ball will increase the hook, but will also tame down the backend. On most conditions, just get this one "out there" because it is coming back.<s

I've yet to shoot a 700 yet, but with this ball, i've knocked on the door with a 687, 676, 670, and a 693. This ball is my old-reliable, and i'll never get rid of this thing. when it dies out, there isnt a doubt that i'll get another. On heavy oil it skids a little, and on fryed lanes it'll over react. and it makes no difference, synthetic or wood lanes, it works like a charm. for the 7 pin (im lefty) it may be a little tough if your on dry lanes. but otherwise, its easy to make. this is the best ball i own so far, however, i am only 14, so i haven't owned many balls yet. its well worth the price.

I got this ball laid out to go far and push at the last second. On a house shot this layout is perfect for this ball. It absolutely crushes the pins. I've left fewer 10 pins with this ball than any other ball. I'm probably going to get another one and lay it out to hook earlier so I can play it on sport shot conditions without leaving incredible splits because it hooked too dramatically. You can play on almost any oily lane condition, but never on dry lanes. This ball needs oil somewhere. I'd recommend this ball to everyone. Great job Columbia!!!

This one was drilled straight -up label drill. Not as strong as expected. Has good length and mid-lane for me, but needs dry backs to be the ball of choice for the condition. A good down-and-in choice on second arrow as well as third-forth area when you have to move left, but if or when it couldn't finish hard enough there, just put it away or prepare for corner practice. When the condition is right though, know your ring size. All-in all, I do like it (except the ugly color). The cover is real easy to change, works best for me with slightly less than box-polish .
