Visionary Violet Gargoyle Bowling Ball

(11 reviews) Write a Review
The Violet Gargoyle is the newest in Visionary's line of highly successful Gargoyles. This Gargoyle utilizes a new solid reactive coverstock to start up sooner on the lane than the Green Pearl, yet maintain the highly aggressive snap on the backends. When the Green Pearl is going too long, pull this ball out of the bag and strike at will. ** The special coloring and blend of this ball results in lighter or even white spots and streaks (phazing) that is a natural effect of the reactive coverstock. You should expect these streaks may almost disappear in the heat and become more exaggerated in the cold. These streaks are intentional and simply a cosmetic effect of the material - not a problem with the balls strength or performance. Through all of our extensive testing we have seen no difference in reaction no matter how much or little phazing appears on this particular ball. Although these color changes may naturally occur throughout the season, please do not try to induce these change

This ball gets a 10 because of the amazing hitting power and readability on the lanes. I was amazed at the controlled breakpoint even as the oil breaks down. I am unable to use this ball in a flood or a sahara, but other than that this ball will get the job done. I have played up the boards and with a small swing around the 10 board and scored well. I have scored well with a swing and a tight line around the 15 board. I can also wheel the whole lane with this ball. The carry is excellent from anywhere around the pocket. Also, you won't leave alot of tough spares and splits like many skid snap balls becasue it has no over under

The violet gargoyal is the 3rd gargoyal series after my grey & green. Both works pretty good on specified lane condition. For this little violet,I can that I complete the arsenal requirements for current lane patterns. My violet drill pin up and CG in the center of palm. With 15lb2oz gross weight, 3.25 oz top and 3" pin layout. This ball is the great choice for mostly patterns I had met.Very predictable backend & large forgiving area for all kind bowlers.Even the lane start break a little, the violet works well on carry down zone and handle the pocket path still. This is one of MUST HAVE from VBP line up. Great Job,Jason.

Since I bowl the late squad, I do not get the chance to bowl on a fresh shot. This ball work great for med to light oil. I have been able to play this ball deep inside or down the 2 board. When it comes to swinging the ball, it works very well as long as you don't have a ton of carry down. Bowling in the PBA Experience league this ball comes in handy for spare shots. This is also a great ball for a short oil shot as long as you can keep your speed up. As for longivity, I will post more reviews as the ball gets used over time.

I love everything about the ball from the color to the smooth way it turns into the pocket (except when you hit a really dry spot). I can play inside with my Frankie May and when they start to hook to much for my liking I can switch over to the violet and stay where I am. I can play the same angle and not move for the rest of my game. This ball also works on a variety of conditions without being over powering an not having that skid flip mentality. I can play all over the lane when they put down different conditions, This ball should be one of the first ones out of the bag for a lane that is either just been oiled or has been trashed by the first shift.

14lb 7oz -2 1/4" pin-2.75oz top weight Drilled 4 1/2" stacked which put pin beside ring finger Ball is sanded to 1500, no polish I actually love the way this ball reacts. Med/light shot with a puddle of oil in the middle. Was shooting 17 to7 and the ball would just glide into the pocket. Have only left 2 ten pins in 9 games, which is a major accomplishment for me. The only negative was if you thru the ball out, it wasn't making it back to the pocket; but pulling it in worked out great. I have tried many balls over the last couple of years for this shot, and this one by far is the best.

I bought this ball and had it originaly drilled 3 3/8 X 3 3/8 and it had a strong roll and great finish. It was more than what I was looking for in a ball. I had it plugged and redrilled with CG 4 inches from the PAP and the pin under my middle finger. The ball skids through the heads and then rolls over and drives the pocket. There isnt any over/under, just nice smooth transtion and hitting ability. Really impressed by this ball. Plus the color, everyone looks at you funny throwing a pinkish/purple ball, then they dont expect you to shoot 225+.

Drilled this one up label leverage to complement my Frankie May Gryphon. This ball has a smooth look going down the lane all the way to the pins. This ball doesnt really have any over/under until the lanes start to carry down. When this ball hits the pins it truly like a high line ball not a midline ball, but beware of the nine pin. I have left at least one every night I have used it. Visionary products could possibly be on the verge of revolutionizing bowling as we know it. Everything they make hits like a mac truck. Give it a try.<scri

You'll have to forgive me on this review. I'll give you the specs now but this is more of a story and a testimonial than it is a tech sheet on how the ball responds to my style of play. pin is 4 inches from CG located about 45 degress out and above the right finger hole. ball was 15.8 pds. before drilling. not a cranker, more of an even flowed down and in shot...... okay, now the story: i made a commitment when i got the new Visionary balls to come in to the bowling alley an hour early and throw a few practice games on unrelated lanes to our league. it helps a lot. normally, ten minutes before official league play the lanes are turned on for practice. with ten people all wanting to get a shot on the same pair of lanes, you're lucky if you get two balls thrown on each lane. so while others are in the process of loosening up, i'm all ready to go. in practice, i was throwing the Violet Gargoyle. after two open frames i rattled off ten in a row for a 258. i felt that

Ball Specs: 15 pounds Top Weight: 3.08 oz Pin out: 2-3 inches Factory Surface Layout: 4 1/2" 105 degree This put the pin next to my ring finger and the cg in the middle of my grip. I did not need a weight hole Lane Condtions: Second Shift Brunswick Anvil Lane broken down heads and very minimal carrydown. ALSO...First shift simple 10 to 10 wall with a puddle of oil in the middle. My Stats: Power Stroker with around 10-30 degree axis tilt, around 15-16 mph off my hand and around medium revs Reaction: I've had my Violet Gargoyle for a few months now. I was really excited with the addition of the soild reactive coverstock. I've thrown this on two different forms of house shots. On the first shift that is walled up with squeeky clean backends, I have found this ball to be a monster. I know that every ball will look good on a wall but this gives you plenty of room at the break point no matter how you get it there. The carry on the fresh wall is nothing short of a

Drilled one of them 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 and polished it, the other 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 and sanded it to 500 grit abralon Polished: A very long ball on the house condition with a VERY strong arc on the backends. With the same layout and surface as my green gargoyle, this one played very similarly. I could stand and throw at the same spot on the lane. However, this ball goes longer and carries a bit more of the garbage. Of course, the greatest benefit of this ball is that the surface can be greatly altered and the ball still performs beautifully! Sanded: This thing HOOKS! By simply sanding the coverstock and drilling the ball with a stronger pin position, I got a completely different ball. This thing reads the midlanes much more and is about 5-7 boards stronger with ease. This is an absolutely phenominal ball and could easily be fit to ANY bowler's game.
