Visionary Centaur AMB Solid Bowling Ball

(11 reviews) Write a Review
The solid AMB will get through the heads much easier than the particle AMB while still handling oil due to the React-A-Tack cover and the high flaring core. Although it won’t handle nearly as heavy of oil as the Particle AMB, the Pink/Blue AMB solid provides a much stronger break on the backend. By using the AMB cap to create an Anti-Mass Bias (negative mass bias on the back side) it allows the ball to have a lower RG than the original DC core while maintaining a high differential. It also helps maintain more of the core dynamics for most drillings. In the case with most strong Mass bias balls, when drilling the thumb – you remove a large portion of the heavy core or cap used to create the bias, resulting in less of the core’s original dynamics. BUT, with the AMB core, you drill into lighter coverstock and save almost all of the original core shape – retaining the true reaction originally designed by the core. The Centaur-AMB uses a modified version of the Centaur core design, and a new line of coverstocks. *** This is a modified version – not the original Centaur core. The bottom arm was lengthened, the densities changed, the top flip cap was made heavier and the ultra-light “AMB” cap was created on the back side. The result is a very high differential core producing high flare (usually 5″ or more). The core produces much backend than the Green/Blue Centaur ***

I find that the ball works best for me if i have oiled lanes that my Centaur pearl can't work on. I do wish that it would hook more like some of the other balls I have. I also wish that it had come in a different color (haha). I found that after about 10 games with it, the surface smoothed out, and didn't hook on oiled lanes anymore.( I did not resand) I reccomend this ball mainly for people who play on light oiled to medium oiled lanes. Although when, and if you get this ball to hit the pocket it will carry well and keep the pins low for good carry percent. the ball is a good ball to start a set with so you can adjust to more or less hooking equipment. It is a good ball if you only want to carry a couple of balls.

Drilled 4.5 from axis.I used this ball on a second shift shot because the carry down gets really bad.I was sliding on 25 and putting the ball at 10,11,12 and it gives me a predictable break point. When the ball hits, it sends pins flying.Even on heavy carry down the ball seems to slice right on thru the slop.I have used it on a fresh ths and if you maintain a good speed it holds and makes a strong move on the pocket. My stats, right handed, pap 5 7/8 up 1,speed 15,16mph.release 45* This is my second ball from Visionary ,the first was the Immortal Pearl and i am really liking the way i score with these two balls.

layed this 1.5" pin ball out on a full roller pattern to give me descent length with backend (and keep me off the fingers). the pin is set just above my thumb center of the span and the CG is at 1:30 from that point. we finished the ball with a light polish to give me just a bit more length. overall, the ball rolls 30' before it gets into a roll and it strong archs from there to the pin deck. i normally have to play this ball 18 out to around 7 for it to roll strong to the pocket. this layout was the only way i could achieve the desired reaction on the house shot with my 6.5" PAP. took it to a PBA qualifier and it performed phenominally. we were playing on the PBA Chamilion oil pattern. i kept the ball outside, playing 10 to 6, with the light polish making it skid a bit more and the backend arch that it gets, it matched up great on this pattern for the first 5 of the 6 game qualifier. i would highly recommend the purchase of this ball. out of the box it is a great ball for medium

SWEEET ball. worth the money in my opinion. like how it recovered in my opinion, even if i missed the mark by even a few boards the ball had the energy to get back to the pocket somehow, and managed to hit hard, REAL hard, kept pins low and carried every ten pin so far, but i only have a cuple games on it seeing is how i have an arsonal of over a hundred balls (father owns pro shop) still cant beat the new fury or ultimate inferno. best balls ever to be made, also, this ball didnt track out after a few short games were put on it

Started on fresh condition, played up 10 and had a couple of boards. as the night went on I just moved my hand around the side alittle and moved 2 or 3 boards left with my feet. Used the ball all night and just went from up the boards to a little swing. Stayed in the pocket, and carried like I was young again. 10 pins didn't even look like they would stay up. Tripped a bunch of 4 pins when it crept high. All in all, an awesome ball on synthetics with medium oil. Will try on wood and report back later.

This is my second VBP ball on hand.I had drilled it as maximum roll position. My ball weight 15lbs3oz, Top 3 oz , Pin 3~4". I had used this ball for last tournament. In the beginning, the solid Centaur can move very smooth & deep with crazy huge backends just like my Centaur Pearl.Hit pins very hard & won't make you suffer for the pins fly away.I can say that the AMB core is the best hitting core in my bowling history.Always keep he pins low & spinning on the rack.Which means more time for pins stay on rack, more strike percentage can be made!! After 3 games out,I started feel not easy to go original line.Even make some horizontal movement was not enough to kept pocket route.Over hit & missed pocket several times. Then I put it back.Then.....I switch into my Centaur Pearl. HO HO HO!! Strike again!! Just enjoy the tool from VBP.You will see some difference compares to other brands.

15 lbs, 3 inch pin Versatile Tweener Pin above ring finger, MB about 1.5" right of and below thumb Drilled to go long and then rev strong on the backends. With the cover in OOB conditions, it revved just like expected, but never found enough friction to make a strong move. I barely touched the cover with 800 grit abralon and got the ball to read a little sooner and make a strong move at the breakpoint. I plan to dull it just a bit more to handle a little more oil and / or carrydown. I love this ball because it reacts extremely well to hand position and speed changes. This ball hits like a truck! The last set I shot with this ball, I had 28 strikes, and 25 of them were 10 in the pit! The three shots that left anything laying on the deck were not flush in the pocket, but the ball still sent pins everywhere and carried some half-pocket shots. Definitely a 10 in my bag! Thanks Visionary! Can't wait to try the Ogre line that I've heard is replacing the Gargoyle line! <scr

Another HOME RUN from Visionary!!!! If you bowl anywhere there is a trace of oil upfront, this ball is for you. I polished mine because of my revs and speed and I can throw this one on a fresh shot out side then move inside and play the second shift slop. I have mine drilled with the pin above the ring finger and the MB right behind the thumb. This combination allows the ball to read the midlane extremely well and a very strong reaction on the backend. I am not a big fan of solid reactive balls, but I must say this one is a WINNER!! I take it with me everywhere I go and it is my starting ball because of its predicatability. This is my favorite AMB ball by far!!! I may be predjudiced towards Visionary equipment, but they really seem to have it right!!! Thanks, Visionary!!! Jack Hoskins - Baltimore, MD Visionary Ball Test Staff

If you read one of my earlier posts about the MoRich Shock & Awe, you would know that I loved that ball but do to stupidity, I Killed the cover with 180 degree water in a bucket! I tried drilling a few other Shock & Awe's but could never get that save everything for the impact reaction - Until now, The Visionary AMB Solid is to strong to replace the Shock & Awe, but it may be closer to the reaction of a Total Shock & Awe! I drilled it the same way as the Morich balls thinking there was no way a Visionary could out react the Brunswick covered S&A, but I was Dead wrong, this ball is way stronger! The out of box condition of this ball is 1000 Matte, I coated it with Magic Shine and it damn near turns left as soon as it hit the drier boards at 38 feet, I am going to sand it finer to 2000 grit Abralon and then recoat it with the Magic Shine, if it is still to strong, I'm going to buy a AMB Bronze and drill it tamer! Medium to Heavier oil is what Visionary claims, unlike other ball companie

Drill: Pin: 4 3/8 form PAP MB: 45 dregree to right This is a heavy froward roll and curve drill. Shot: All wood lanes oiled to 38 buffed to 40' Heavy oil from 10-10 tappered off to 5 with O.B. outside 5 Where I play the lanes: Slide 20 laydown 15 out to 8 at break point. Review: This ball hits like a mac tank. With this drill this is the first ball I pull out when I hear that the lanes were just oiled. Ball sails through the heads with easy picks up a nice roll in the midlane and rolls heavy to the pocket distroying the pins. High hits look out 9 and 4-9's but the light hits this ball carrys makes up for that. I just stay light in the pockets and carry every thing. No 7's or 10's just flat out caryy the world. When the heads start to go other people grab for a ball that will get throught the heads easler I'm able to stay will the AMB soild due to the finish on this ball and continue to strike. Carrydow does nothing to this ball unless it 60' down the lane. This is my

This ball is quite simply awesome. I have always had a soft spot for Visionary, and this has just enhanced that. Once word spreads, everyone will want one of these balls. I have played first, second and third arrow and it ALWAYS recovers and just smashes the pins. My frinds are always giving me a hard time because I bowl with Visionary and not one of the bigger name brands, however I am kicking their butts with monotonous regularity which I attribute 110% to this great ball. Do yourself a favour check it out, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Keep up the great work Visionary!!!!!!
