Visionary Centaur AMB Bowling Ball

This version of the AMB line gets down the lane further and easier than the AMB solid with a sharper break. The pearlized reactive cover would normally make this a skid/snap ball but the core forces the ball into an earlier roll – resulting in a strong, sharp break but not a true skid/snap. Usually pearls tend to squirt through the breakpoint when you get carrydown, but the Bronze AMB rolls sooner and recovers better than most pearl reactives. By using the AMB cap to create an Anti-Mass Bias (negative mass bias on the back side) it allows the ball to have a lower RG than the original DC core while maintaining a high differential. It also helps maintain more of the core dynamics for most drillings. In the case with most strong Mass bias balls, when drilling the thumb – you remove a large portion of the heavy core or cap used to create the bias, resulting in less of the core’s original dynamics. BUT, with the AMB core, you drill into lighter coverstock and save almost all of the original core shape – retaining the true reaction originally designed by the core. The Centaur-AMB uses a modified version of the Centaur core design, and a new line of coverstocks. *** This is a modified version – not the original Centaur core. The bottom arm was lengthened, the densities changed, the top flip cap was made heavier and the ultra-light “AMB” cap was created on the back side. The result is a very high differential core producing high flare (usually 5″ or more). The core produces much backend than the Green/Blue Centaur *** To Layout the AMB properly, you must first mark the "Virtual Mass Bias" by drawing a line from the 1/4" locator pin on the backside, through the 1/2" Black flip pin around the ball. Mark an "x" 180 degrees from the AMB pin (13 1/2" from the AMB pin which puts the "x" 6 3/4" from the black pin. This Virtual Mass Bias point can then be treated using the same general rules that apply to other typical mass bias spots. *** By using the AMB cap to create an Anti-Mass Bias (negative mass bias on the back side) it allows the ball to have a lower RG than the original DC core while maintaining a high differential. The Centaur Pearl is mainly my favorite bowling ball. I have won two tournaments with this bowling ball. It has really worked out for me in alot of tough situations such as this one time that i threw the ball near the gutter and it snapped back and nailed the pocket and got me a strike. Only once has it messed me up but I can't really blame it for my mistake of not having the right supply of bowling balls for use but now I do. I always use this ball on dry conditions. If the lanes are too oiled I find a ball that will dry the lanes quick so I can use this ball. I reccomend this ball to anyone that plays on dry lane conditions.

This ball was so strong that I was playing angles I couldn't adjust to. I polished it and gave it a try on medium volume THS. What a difference. I played 15 at the foul line 12 at the arrows and destroyed the pocket. Messengers were plentiful, but didn't need them. Tournament time is coming and this ball is a strong finisher, so it will definately be with me at tournaments. Now I just have to figure out what else goes with it. I can eliminate a lot of them because this ball turns the corner so well. If you need a ball that turns the corner, buy one of these, Try it and then adjust the surface as you need it.

3"pin above and right of ring finger. CG just right and above grip center. MB just right of thumb. Static weights 7/8 pos side and 3/4 finger. I started deeper than I usually finish and kept going deeper. Everything in the pocket carried with authority. Even when I fainally had to quit because I just can't play that deep, the ball would still turn the corner. I shot an even 200 with one open on a big split on a part of the lane I'm not comfortable playing. I will be bowling the next two weeks on a shot with a little more oil in the middle, and this ball should be a good match for me on that condition. The puddle will allow me to play where I'm more comfortable.

Visionary is a phenominal ball company that is underrated. This is one of many balls I have thrown from Visionary that far exceed the standards, price, and performance of any other balls I have used from other companies. The ball has exceptional backend reaction when you drill for it length. Angle of entry will never be an issue with how hard this ball turns. Once they get dry enough though the ball hooks to early and you may need to step down to the Ogre for more length. This ball is excellent on almost any house shotl Especially when the oil is carried down.

I had drilled 2 AMB Pearl for personnal use. Both works very nice & gave me a lot of spare room for miss release. Basically,I recommend the ball drilled as axis style for dryer lane & length style for mid-oil pattern.Since I am a stroker,it is very naughty & sensitive for me to use label drill.Besides, all works well. What the impression for me to drill 2 of them is because of the forgivness ability on mid-dry to mid-oilly lanes. With the nice pin carry, there is few corner pin to make spare.Mostly 4 pin or 9 pin appears. And if you do consistant throw, this AMB will bring you lot of strikes as feedback. It is rare to find a mid oil lane use ball with so big flare at current market. But if you are looking for, don't miss this baby!

Picked this one up used, in vg condition; drilled it up pin above ring, mb rt. of thumb; looking for something for length and strong backend snap. On our local THS, this ball is not a skid/snap reaction. Our house has little/no backends, so this one is a down-and-in monster. Glides through the heads easier than any ball I own and makes a gradual, strong arc to the hole. Can leave alot of 10's if you try to use on heavy oil. On medium oil, this one is hard to beat! Another winner from the good folks at Visionary! Highly recommended piece.

Fresh lanes are the best. Medium to longer length patterns, I can play - standing 30, hitting 19 and breaking around 8. As the shot begins to breakdown, this ball goes into the bag. As streaks of (fried) dry boards, this ball wants to begin the movement back. the energy is saved for the backend. once the move to the pocket begins it set-up and drive hard. I recently enjoyed this ball on the 42 ft sport pattern at my local house. I was able to move straighter (stood around 21,aimed at 10), catch the edge (1-2 board) and have an excellent recovery with plenty of power to hit the pocket.

First few games after ball was drilled was getting a very flat reaction, just didnt want to move.. after about 3 - 4 games and a lil bit of a track i am starting to get the backend i was looking for. Drilled with the pin in the C position. and the "virtual" mass bias in the leverage position.. My saturday night mixed league shot is a flooded christmas tree and was looking for a ball to get deep with. Starting this weekend I was able to get deep and keep this ball inside without losing any backend power.. ball hits VERY hard, sometimes almost too hard as I did leave a few 9 pins and some 4 - 9 splits. Overall I am well pleased with the reaction and hitting power of thes ball.. I will with out a doubt try another visionary product

This is probably in the top five balls that I have ever owned. I bowl my leagues in a house with a reputation for a tough shot and in the four person, four game scratch league I shot 898 with the first use and in the second league I shot 660. I have the pin 4 inches from PAP and AMB at 3. This ball goes down the lane and makes a hard turn to the pocket and just carries everything. This is my 7th ball since becoming a test staff member and for me this is the best yet!

Got my Visionary Centaur - Amb on Weds. and I am very impressed with this ball. Now on to the information. Personal Stats. Tweener with 40 to 35 degrees tilt. Ball speed 16 to 18 mps. Bowling center info: 5 yrs old Brunswick Guardian surface .. house shot 8 to 8 to 38 ft.Med. Backends. Ball Layout from the Visionary Drill sheet. Pin Placement C with Mb placement 3. Ball Surface Factory which is 1500 polished. Ball has a weight hole. First night with the ball used the ball after lane brake down 5 man leauge in gm 3 and this ball perfectly complimented my Burgandy Gryphon which is my benchmark ball. Where the Burgandy started to flat 10 switching to the Amb, I could play the same part of the lane without moving my feet which were at 17 and my eyes at 8. Great Carry. Second night, the center put new pins in ( Finally) and Started with my Alter Ego and didn't throw it well and swiched to the Centar and automatic started to stike. Once again great carry. Finally I can say

Ball Specs: 15 pounds Top Weight: 3.08 oz Pin out: 2-3 inches Factory Surface Layout: 3 1/2" 80 degree This put the pin next to my ring finger and the cg kicked out slightly towards my axis. I put the weight hole on my axis which is 4 3/8" from my center of grip. I took the side weight back to 1/2 positive Lane Condtions: Second Shift Brunswick Anvil Lane broken down heads and very minimal carrydown My Stats: Power Stroker with around 10-30 degree axis tilt, around 15-16 mph off my hand and around medium revs Reaction: This ball is one amazing peice of equipment. This was the first ball I recieved from my Visionary Ball Test Program and I couldnt be happier with it. I'm a power stroker, normally I don't move past 25 with my feet, well that all changed when I put holes in this ball. I have found myself playing angles that I could only have imagined. On the second shift league I find myself standing 35 throwing it over 15 at the arrows and letting it work out
