Visionary Centaur AMB Particle Bowling Ball

(7 reviews) Write a Review
Designed with the extreme oil patterns in mind, the Centaur-AMB Particle will chew through the oil like it’s not even there. Using the high flaring AMB core design in combination with our new high load particle coverstock, this ball will hook when nothing else will. If you are in need of a heavy oil ball, than look no further. You will not find more raw power in a ball anywhere. The AMB Particle generates an extreme amount of traction on the lanes and therefore will roll sooner and not have the backend snap like the Bronze AMB. This ball is designed for oil, Oil, OIL !! By using the AMB cap to create an Anti-Mass Bias (negative mass bias on the back side) it allows the ball to have a lower RG than the original DC core while maintaining a high differential. It also helps maintain more of the core dynamics for most drillings. In the case with most strong Mass bias balls, when drilling the thumb – you remove a large portion of the heavy core or cap used to create the bias, resulting in less of the core’s original dynamics. BUT, with the AMB core, you drill into lighter coverstock and save almost all of the original core shape – retaining the true reaction originally designed by the core. The Centaur-AMB uses a modified version of the Centaur core design, and a new line of coverstocks. *** This is a modified version – not the original Centaur core. The bottom arm was lengthened, the densities changed, the top flip cap was made heavier and the ultra-light “AMB” cap was created on the back side. The result is a very high differential core producing high flare (usually 5″ or more). The core produces much backend than the Green/Blue Centaur ***

I really like this ball. Before I got my Centaur-AMB (pearl) it was my favorite ball. I still use the Centaur Particle for lanes that are really oiled. It will hook when other balls go straight. I am able to move deep inside into the oil and still create area and enough drive to carry. I feel I strike when sometimes I may not deserve to. I am able to throw the ball my normal way on oil and not worry about trying to make it hook. I would reccomend this ball to anyone who bowls on heavy oil or needs to create more hook on oiled lanes. I do find that I need to sand the ball to 320 after about 12 games to get the grab back. The ball flares big time! overall- Great Ball, nothing else like it out there.

Yes this ball hooks, a lot! Tried it on flooded synthetics and it looked like a yellow dot from the late 70's. On flooded wood lanes, it read sooner but broke less sharply. I could play my "A", "B" or "C" game, and the ball went to the hole. Only good for about 2 games though, by then the lanes have dried up and you have to switch. I wish I had gotten this ball when it was first released, it would have won me one tournament for sure, and maybe another Great ball for heavy oil. If you ever bowl on a flood, this is the ball for you!

The AMB Centaur Particle is an unique ball I never see before.Because whatever I did, this ball is non-polishable!!Best surface condition is #600~#800 sand paper like. I tried just 3 times, one for tournalment shots, two for house play. The tournalment shots,I can play deep inside and hit 7 pin directly.(next shot with same direction & release for my Reactive Centaur.Only can hit 3-6 pocket.) I drilled it as length layout but still rolls a ton! What I can image is if I played on a 60' oil pattern, maybe I can get a not bad score. Therefore,I tried to polished it with my best treatment. But results brought to me a disappoint answer...This ball is un-polishable!! But,if you are a bowler who always saying that : "My Reactive/Particle balls just doesn't hook on the lane!! ".I will suggest you to have one & enjoy the ride you had ever seen before~

Have you heard of HOOK IN THE BOX??? Well Visionary did it here!!! This is without question the largest hooking ball I have EVER thrown!!! I threw it on my fresh oiled house shot......didn't like it very much. I am bowling in a sport league this summer. We have one condition which is 43 ft flat, close to the US Open condition. I was hooking this ball were NO ONE else could get it to wrinkle....oh and this ball hits great!! If you any hand at all, this ball is not for you. if you have low revs you might be ok on a fresh shot. All in all, not a bad ball but STRICTLY a ton of oil ball. Ok basically this is only ment for sports shots or extreemly heavy i couldn't even get the ball half way down the lane which out turning off. considering it was hooking in oil is amazing. basically if u get this ball i would say drill it not agressive and to polish it unless u got no hand at all :) and i got a ton of hand :) freaking craziest ball EVER ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya

i dont thinks it a good ball for someone who puts too much hand in the ball. this ball for me rolls out way too early and its not really that consistant of a ball. ive tried it everywhere and i even tried it in indianapollis for junior gold nationals and it didnt do squat. i think if you were a straight up bowler or someone who throws the ball incredibaly slow then u might actually like this ball or maybe u just bowl on a walled up shot u can use any ball u want. u might like it then cause it does hit hard.

Love it. Got it drilled by Brad Cerealo @ AMF Winston-Salem and went out on league pattern, ball burned up at about 30 ft. still hit like a mack truck burned out. Had the pleasure of getting to bowl on a 37ft. sport pattern later that evening. Ball worked great no burn out just pure hook and traction. When I had to play inside (15-20)with the Hammer Hawg I could play outside (1-8) with the AMB Particle.Could play areas where I couldn't with my other equipment. Drill- pin below fingers bridge.cg-about 2 O'clock Style-18-20 mph, about 250-300 rpm, tweener
