Visionary Ogre Solid Bowling Ball

(8 reviews) Write a Review

Using state of the art coverstock technology and the OGRE core, this ball is a must have for nearly all bowling styles. The OGRE solid utilizes our Eradicator coverstock; a strong solid reactive shell that cuts through the oil, and handles carrydown extremely well. While the coverstock is designed for medium to heavier house shots, it is very user friendly and can be easily adjusted to cover a wide range of oil patterns. The OGRE line is powered by a symmetrical, dual density core design without a wrap. This allows for a thicker, more uniform coverstock for extra resilience and energy at impact with the pins. The dense flip cap helps create a strong move at it’s breakpoint, while the body of the core helps to provide a consistent reaction without the typical over/under you see from many reactives. The OGRE core is a modification of the design used in the Centaur/AMB/Immortal lines. Anyone who’s thrown the Green/Blue Centaur and any of the AMBs or Immortals would have experienced first hand the tremendous differences created by the placement and densities of the various caps. The single flip cap design produces more flare than the Green/Blue Centaur but less than the Immortals and AMBs.

Before I purchased this ball I did a lot of research. I called Visionary for some additional information and I was able to speak directly with one of the owners. He kindly answered all of my questions so I decided to purchase. I just played 7 games with this ball and I have to say that I am very impressed. It does exactly as advertised. Great job on a great product! Strong backend reaction. Great turn to pocket at the breakpoint! No questions about the pin action. Great length and continuation of hook.Moderate backend and hook reaction that makes the ball versatile. Easy maintanance and durable coverstock

when you feel a bit inept - normal arsenol wont hook - embarrased because you keep pounding the 3 pin square in the face - or just squeezing the life out of the ball to hit the head pin - PULL THIS OUT AND FORGET THE TROUBLES!!!!!! this ball will solve your little issue of struggling on oil. heavy rolling ball. heavy rolling ball. heavy rolling ball - by the way did i say HEAVY ROLLING BALL. great when you need to just square up and not give the hole away. amazing thing is that it still hits. not like some other cream puffs that start up and croke at the pocket. if you just use it when needed you will like.

To some people the ball is ugly, but people say that I am strange, and thats because I am. So I like the dirty pumpkin rolling down the lane, and it annihilates the pins. I can see that the ball is workable as the lane conditions change, I also use my strike ball as my spare ball, I just flattten shot and throw hard. The Ogre covered the 10 pin easily with a flat hard shot. I wish I had drilled it in time to use it at Nationals, maybe I could have had a board or two of room as the equipment I used at Nationals was all skid, flip drilled. Still bowled ok though !

So far, on 15 games, averaging right at 225, even with a horrid 577 last night. The pin carry is great and this ball really reads the lane. I have the CG in the palm, pin is right off the ring finger. Its drilled to really read the mid lane and it does a great job. As the first Visionary ball that I have tried, I am extremely impressed. Big tourny coming in a couple weeks. I am really looking forward to seeing how this ball does. It does eat up a shot quick, if I have to play way out. 6 or 7 shots on an extreme outside line are about all I can play. After that, I have to look for some oil. I love this ball. One thing. Keep It Clean!! Use a good ball cleaner after every round. I have a little cleaning station set up in my garage work area and I have to pass it on the way in the house. Thanks Visionary!! You have a winner here.

This is one angry ball that took some coverstock adjustments to get the look I needed to tame the beast within. Mine is now at 4000 ab and the smoother you go the more it kicks at the back. With the oob surface this ball was a snarling beast that just had a bad attitude. Now it has bad intentions. Gets into an early roll the just keeps going downhill to the backs, zeros in and wreeks havoc at the rack. Not a flashy ball just all business. Way more ball then I thought at the time of purchase the #'s will fool you. This is the most hooking ball at this price point bar none. Visionary is probally the best kept seceret in bowling today. What's in your bag ?

Nice ball right out of the box for tourney conditions 9++. At Reno. I rolled a 196 ave for the first three games. Not bad for 179 lifetime ave. I was looking for a ball to hit the pins at National it it did just that. The staff at Visionary took the time to talk to me and in no time I had a killer first shot. It has taken a few games to get use to a house shot at home but as a 179 ave bowler I have been ave 195 so farthis fall . I Will add another ogre in my bag. The pearl next??

This is the first Ogre & just drilled last night.I had used it directly on the local tournalment. I found this ball moves a very different way compares to my gargoyals in bag.Basically, this ball is much more like Immortal solid. But with lighter backends. I had tried to find the way out for it to use in the mid-dry condition.(The reason why is I had polished it too shinny!!) However, why other balls cannot conquer lighter oil with a bit carry down...It just fit my ogre to stand!! If you are a tweener or stroker,I suggest to re-organize the surface into 600~1000 grit with light polished. This may allow you to extend the pocket window as well. Keep on good products,Jason.

The OGRE solid utilizes an newly designed coverstock Which a symmetrical, dual density core design without a wrap It’s interesting and easy to drill and set up. The OGRE core is an modification of the design used in the Centaur/AMB/Immortal lines. The single flip cap design produces more flare than the Green/Blue Centaur but less than the Immortals . This is a good Ball to fill your Bowling equipment variation Zone. The Orgy has a nice, smooth move to the pocket. Reads the midline and make a strong but smooth turn on the backend. I shined the ball from box condition so it would retain more energy From Finish: 600 Matte to 1500, This ball is clean thru the heads with a earlier read then the Immortals As a Mid- lane reader this ball was much stronger than I had thought it would be. I tried the Orgy in multiple houses and different lane Conditions still the ball had Positive movements Impact is resilience leaving much needed energy at impact with the pins.
