Ebonite Matrix Trimax Bowling Ball

(6 reviews) Write a Review

The Trimax blends a single density, mass bias BOMB'S AWAY core with the ultra-smooth Trimax Reactive Resin to produce a ball that is clean through the fronts with a powerful, predictable backend hook. Excellent on the lighter to medium oil conditions, the Trimax has something to offer every style of bowler. More strikes.

I used this ball after Shickdaddy, just plugged the thumb and redrilled with longer span. On a Friday 2nd shift league, I kept the pins low and scored like crazy until all the head oil was gone about the end of game 2. If I had more speed, I probably could have used it the entire league session. Ebonite had a winner with this ball, but they just had to make a series II and III. This is one of those balls that people would still be using, except everybody that I know had the bridge crack out of the ball. The first night I used it I won enough in jackpots that I could have paid for the ball new! If you find one grab it.

I drilled this ball up to go long and snap hard and it definitely delivered. The amazing thing about this ball is that Ebonite said that the ball would carry better because it kept the pins low on the deck and I think it actually did. I wasn't able to get in really deep with this ball but I usually didn't have to. I could stay between the 1st and 3rd arrow most of the time which is where this ball seemed to have the best carry. I also noticed that this ball read synthetic lanes better than wood. It would hold more energy on the syntetics and hit with more power than on wood lanes

I have always been leary of Ebonite (even though one of my heroes Earl Anthony was an Ebonite man) because I had so many flops from them. To date, this is my best Ebonite ever. This ball made a smooth move to the pocket and just exploded the pins. Of course it is not a heavy oil ball, but on those light to medium conditons it is fantastic. I wished I could find a new 15 lb one (my 16lb one cracked all the way around the ball. Why I don't know. I think one of my kids dropped it, but they won't admit to it). Anyway, I loved this ball.

I got this ball when i turned 15 from the owner of my primary bowling center, I was still learning how to bowl at that point, but it helped....i shot a 298 with it when i was 16, ended up with a 730 series (my highest series). I quit bowling by the time i was 18, so it sat in my room alot, went open bowling and it gave out, cracked down the middle all the way around the ball...sat for about another year, and its cracking again making an L shape. I will never get rid of this ball, as it is a reminder of Maple leaf lanes in Norwalk, Oh. It is also a reminder of how close I came to perfection the last year of bowling there. Ebonite needs to remake this ball, I would buy 10 of them

For the money, it's one of the best light oil balls out there. I love the length, and it can be flattened out enough to hit the 10 pin. The coverstock lasts forever! I have had it since '99 and it's seen probably 5,000 games, cleaned after every series, and resurfaced twice, but it still hooks like a pro. Also I love the look of the ball, it's simple, and you can see your grips spinning very well. I would like to see what the Trimax II and the Trimax III can do, so if anyone has them please let me know.

The matrix i have was owned by a friend previously, and when he first got it, it was a very good ball for him, but he made a mistake by sanding it, which is dumb because it has a reactive resin, but luckily gary fixed it. It still works pretty good. If the lanes have light oil, you can play like throwing it over the 3rd arrow, but if the lanes have heavy oil, you can basically just throw it strait up 10 or throw it at ten pins, but overall it is a good ball, and a sentimental favorite my friends because he threw 298 with it. AND IT WAS OWNED BY BLAINE GRAN
