The ball was used when i got it but didnt have a lot of games on it, seemed like it died kinda quick. doesnt have the sharp turn on medium oil i was expecting. is great for my friend though. The ball crushes the pocket and when he tugs it, it holds really nice. doesnt come back when he lets it out but he shouldnt do that. The bridge cracked on the ball, dont know if that was the driller's fault or if any other balls have had that problem. Out of the 4 guys who have thrown the ball, 3 hate it and 1 like it. just matters whos hand the ball is in. i say defenitely try it if you are interested in it. Dynothanes a great company, good ball

This is my first Dynothane and all I can say is WOW! First game out of the box was a 279! First set was 775! Make no mistake, the THING RETURNS is incredible! I am extremely difficult to impress and this ball impressed the hell out of me! I typically average 220+ on normal league shots and I've never had a ball carry as well as this ball...it really carries from all angles - light mixers, high hits, flush hits, half-pocket hits, etc. Great pin action! It's very responsive to hand position changes and loses virtually no power when thrown well. I have used this ball on all lane conditions and the only conditions that it doesn't like is burnt conditions and heavy oil. The soaker coverstock works as advertised and this ball consistently outperforms all my other equipment on medium to medium-oily lane conditions. Get one before they're gone! Update: After 10 weeks of use on THS my average is 237! I know the shot is easy, so I wanted to see how much the ball has affected my sco

I recieved this ball used for free from my pro shop operator (much props to Tom Sheppard). I hadn't tried a reactive resin ball before so I was a little worried at first, hoping the ball wouldnt hook too much because I'm a stroker that plays down and in. So This time around I decided to drill it up a bit different going with finger inserts and a thumb slug both for the first time as well. Since the ball was previously used by a coach that moved away it has some small nicks but its cool doesn't effect the roll. After throwing the ball only 2 games I am amazed at the reaction I could get with it. It makes such a hard turn it almost always strikes when put in the pocket, I still haven't left a 10 pin. I hadn't really experienced carry this good until this point so this will definetely become the first ball out of the bag from now on. Dyno-Thane makes some quality balls. Update: Don't even attempt to use this ball on spotty lane conditions. I Tried to use it on a dry lane with carrydown

I have owned 4 of these balls over the last 18 months. I have drilled all 4 of them differently. All of the balls were pin out at least 3 inches and all had at least 3oz of top weight. This is the ball I start with in any house I bowl in. It gives a great consistant read of the lane. Unless the oil is very heavy The Thing Returns is the ball I will use. I will hit it with the scotch bright pad to get the desired reaction. The only complaint I have about this ball come from the factory finish. I LOVE IT, but I can not achieve the same finish once it has worn out or I have taken the pad to it. My Dynothane rep told me the polish they use. I have tried my HAAS machine as well as hand rubbing it on a spinner. It just never goes back to the original box reaction. The Thing Returns is a STRONG ball. On a league pattern it will carry the corners on a ball that is tugged in the oil. Yet will still come screaming back ffrom outside 5. In several houses I have been able to create a 10 board

This was my first Dynothane ball and it won't be my last. My benchmark ball. I can use this ball to read the lanes and now after 2 shots exactly where the oil line is and what adjustment needs to be made to get to the pocket. Most versitale ball I have ever owned and would strongly recommend this ball to any one needing a good control ball with excellent carry. p O O c O MB I typically throw an inverted track with heavy fingers and this layout has given me heavy roll. Adjust the tilt and ball will scoot 3 feet further down the lane and snap on the back end. Have been able to play down 5 or Swing from 30 over 14 out to 7 with good success. If you can't control this ball you need consider taking up checkers instead of bowling.

This ball is the best ball Dyno-Thane has out. I have had mine for about a year and it still reacts the same way it did from day one. I use this ball for reading the lanes. It is very easy to use and if you are looking for a ball from Dyno-Thane that can make you a better a player this is it. Dyno-Thane as really found a gem in this ball I'm looking forward to the next ball (Energy). If this ball is half as good as the Thing Returns everyone will be very pleased.

I bought this ball due to this site's recommendations. At one point, this ball had perfect 10's across the board. I had to figure that so many bowlers couldn't be wrong. It sat under my front table for about 6 months, until I felt the desire to drill it up. Our house has a fairly easy shot, and leans toward medium dry. The house oil graphs show 60 units in the middle (in the heads) and 10 on the outside, tapering down to 20 and 4 respectively. The length of the shot is buffed out to 39 ft. The back ends are squeaky clean. I drilled to ball to have some control with the strong backends, and put the pin close to the top of the ring finger, with the CG in the center of the grip, and the MB to the left of the thumbhole. The first few times I used it, I didn't really like the reaction, as it seemed kind of angular, and hard to control ... but with practice, I found a line that I could handle. I am somewhere between a stroker and a tweener (if that's possible), and throw th

A great ball for medium and light oil condition..So far I have been using it on sintetic lane with light oil..Haven't played it on wood lane and heavy oiled lane. Simply recommended it to all.Been using it for almost 100 games and still as snappy as ever. You need to slow the speed of the ball(for my case anyway). It is easier to convert splits also due to its 'snappy' nature. The ball simply roll and roll and at the and of the lane it simply snap and went into the pocket.99% chances of strike if it goes into the pocket..Another thing is that the pin reaction is a bit funny to the extent that even if the ball goes in light the percentage of strike is quite high.. This is the firs time I tried a Dyno Thane ball and I bought it caused I was influenced by the rave reviews in here and so far I did not regret following the advices posted by you all here..thanks!

Overall one of the better balls I have ever thrown. Gets great length through the heads. Super strong backend reaction. Carry and hit are superb. Seems to get stronger, the more games thrown with it! No complaints with this ball. Able to play up the boards with this ball on medium to medium heavy conditions. As the lanes dry up, able to chase the oil inside and continue to carry. This is definitely a stand out ball and one everyone needs to keep in their bag. Will work on almost any condition except the extremes. Should be able to use this ball all night long during leagues.

i would recommend this ball to anyone, great price and a hard hitting ball that can be used on meduim to light oil depending ont eh player or the drilling pattern! Mine was drilled stack to be used as a light oil ball and it didnt dissapoint. Right out of the box i scored awsome with it. The balls gives you the confidence to play differnt lines and angels so you can score big time! Plus it wont break your pocket book! so if you ooking for a great ball for eitehr medium lanes this is the ball to go with cause it works and it doesnt take all your cash! Way to go DT!

all in all this ball just flat rocks!! Very controllable hook and very easy to read!!! If you want a pearl bowling ball that doesnt overreact and carries everything this ball might be the one for you!! I drilled mine 4 x 4 and it goes fairly long and makes a very controlled arc on the back end. The surprising thing about this ball is that it flat rips the corner pin out and carries so well that I am still amazed after three months or more with it. So I can say that I highly recommend this ball for a medium condition. This ball was never intended for heavy oil so bag it and pull your animal out on that condition

i been shooting 700 after 700 with this ball, the carry is awesome, i love everything about this ball. i only had it for just about 2 months and i shot 6 700's and had come close to 4 more 300's with this ball. i never had a ball like this one before, it has even replaced the x-zone high differential as my new favorite and since i hate typing at least 100 worlds im gonna copy and paste this review again lol i been shooting 700 after 700 with this ball, the carry is awesome, i love everything about this ball. i only had it for just about 2 months and i shot 6 700's and had come close to 4 more 300's with this ball. i never had a ball like this one before, it has even replaced the x-zone high differential as my new favorite and since i hate typing at least 100 worlds im gonna copy and paste this review again lol

I have had my Thing Returns since the end of January (drilled 5" X 4 1/4", pin under bridge, mass bias in strong position). With it, I have rolled eleven ABC 700 series (highest being 792) and eight games over 275 (highest being 299, but I predict a perfecto is in the works!). For the month of March, I averaged over 239 for thirty-nine games (9,328 pins) over three different leagues. This ball is perhaps THE best one I have EVER owned and used (sounds corny, doesn't it?). Great job to Phil Cardinale et al. at Dyno-Thane!

Dyno-thane has really made me think again about even buying from another company. Was the 1st one at my bowling alley to try a product from dyno-thane. I had to take the chance but boy am I happy I did. Now everyone at the bowling alley wants to try more Dyno-thane Products. I have not tryed any of there other products but if this ball holds up like it has been I will never need to. If you were thinking about trying it I would so go ahead and try it and I highly doubt you will be dissapointed in it. Even if you dont have a lot of ball speed the ball does not take off on you.

I have put off writing a review on this one until I was very, very sure. Now I am. This is very good. Better than the Thing. 1. Length. Clean through the heads and midlane as long as there is a reasonable amount of oil. Too much on dry lanes. In essence, it allows you to take the first forty feet out of play. It is not the ball for heavy oil. 2. Move. Strong, angular, more than an arc but less than a prototypical flip. The way I would describe the move is clear, clean and hard. I have not had much of an overreaction problem though. Goody. And VERY good through carrydown for a pearl. 3. Hook. Loads. More than I expected. But you can't get lazy with it. While it is more forgiving than the Element or Vendetta, it ain't doing all the work for you. Give it some fingers and it'll move on a range of medium conditions. I promise. 4. Hit. Very good high, light and square. Strong through the deck. Pins fly around. Better than the Thing, comparable to the Ele

Its only an earlry report. 4 games giving me my highest series and highest game in this league. First Dyno-thane ball at my lanes and I dont think it will be the last. Reaction was well good. Miss a little outside and it came back, miss a little inside and it held. Played 2nd arrow out to about 5 and it was soooo consitant that its untrue. Stayed on my mark almost all night and only had to change by a board in the 4th game. I have mostly stuck with Storm balls because I like their shape, but this one has made me a Dyno-thane fan. I was so hyped up using this ball Ive got a sore shoulder from just 4 games last night. I did have 1 unexpected reaction in the 4 game when i let my speed drop a bit, but that was my fault. (WOW I didnt think I could hook a ball that much). I will give a more in-depth report when Ive put a few more games on it. But for now GO, D Y N O ----T H A N E! ! ! !

I in my 30 years of bowling have never had a ball with so much hitting power, control.. This ball is trully amazing. Added 15 pins on my 2 leagues the first week. Thanks Dyno-Thane. Beleive me guys, you will be hearing alot from these guys in the near future, if you have'nt already. They may not have the PR of these other companies, but they will very soon have the Rep. for one of the best in the bowling ball industry. This ball has helped me do something I have never been able to before, and that is carry a 200+ Avg. I have thrown 30 games with this ball, and have yet to shoot under 200. Remarkable

This bowling ball hes excellent length for a strong covered ball, which allows it to cut through the backends, even after the oil has pushed down the lane. I am really not sure if the oil was getting pushed down, or if it was just being sucked out of the front, which made other balls burn up, and that made the backends seem tighter with my other stuff. I feel really comfortable with my arsenal now and I know when to throw the correct ball. I guess I am finally getting the right equipment in my hands so I can read the lanes now.

I picked this one up to compliment my Thing, it is perfect...I expected more length and that is exactly what I got, I love the way this line of equipment has every ball in its own place. My experience with other companies is that they come out with too many balls that react exactly the same. Back to the Thing Returns, I bowl in a wood house that has a deep track, other bowlers are hitting real flat, but after 2 weeks, I have that problem licked, Thanks D/T. I hate haveing to write 100 words, its so hard to be long winded.

This ball has allowed me to play the part of the lane were the angle to the pocket has the highest carry percentage. It has opened up the pocket by carrying the off hits. I have it drilled with the Pin above the ring finger and the cg kick out with an extra hole. This lets me open up the lane, this drilling gets the ball to turn up down the lane and continue on the backends and not hook stop like many other balls that claim to be stronger down the lane. Since it clears the front so clean you can just let it go because you have the confidence knowing it will return on the back end. The most amaizing thing about the Thing Retuns is the performance actually has gotten better the more I use it. With about 30 games on it I still have not cleaned it because the soaker cover stock seem to perform better the more you use it.

This ball fits nicely when other balls start to hook early. A lot of the other high end balls hook at your toe and die, that is not the case here. This ball saves it all for the back. Plenty of energy left for the pins. The carry is great on the old wood surface. It also has worked really good on Sport conditions. The thing that makes sprort conditions tough is that the lane condition cant be flooded up front like a normal house condition, so its great to have a ball that doesnt need as much oil. I also like the fact that the cover is strong enough to hook on carrydown.

This is a great addition to the Thing line. Dyno-Thane has a winner with this ball. The ball clears the front part of the lane with ease and makes a real hard turn to the pocket. I have used it on a frsh house pattern and a house pattern that was broken down considerably. I was able to use this ball on both shots and open a very large area for myself. On the earlier shift I was able to play up the boards and the ball went real long for me and made a sharp break to the pocket. On the later shift, I moved my feet in and sent it right and this ball makes it back and doesn't lose any hitting power. Unbelievable punch at the pocket. It really gets those corners out of there with ease. This ball is unbelievable and will be good for all types of styles. Put one of these in your arsenal.
