Have my personal best game and series with this ball even though i dont care for skid/snap reaction. Has strong recovery for misses to the right and doesnt lose hitting power. But with such a strong reaction once it hits the dry can leave big splits on a miss left

This ball was a hand me down and decided to experiment with it. Set up to dive in hte back it can be used to arc in hte back and eventually open up a shot. The ball will set up properly, similar to a crash. Howeer once you use it on a house without head oil, look out, you look like a dive bomber in a WW II plane. Too much dive and you are on the history channel documentary, they will be talking about you as if you were a relic, in their war battle blunders, big mistake. Keep this in case you have oil carrydown, you will still back end reaction that will know when to turn off the turn blinker.<

I got this ball for use on lighter oil and it is perfect for my game. It will skid forever and has a great backend when it hits the dry boards. The ball has awesome carry on light hits and much better power than I would have expected from a medium reactive ball with such a polished cover. I have even had problems with leaving some solid ringing 8 pins some nights (right hander). It is not a good spare shooting ball if you are aiming to the outside since it snaps when it gets out on the dry areas. I would have given it a 10 pin rating but it is a little too snappy sometimes if it hits clean stripped backends.

It is definitely a condition specific ball but when the condition warrants it is a nice ball and carries pretty well. It seems that my Storm equipment kind of died after about 100 games or so but the Columbia keeps on hitting the same. I should probably have the Storm resurfaced. Oh well, I really like the Rip for a usual league shot and it seems to carry pretty well. It does have a tendency to leave single pins or maybe it's just me. I have more confidence in this ball than most of my other equipment which explains why I go to it so quickly when the other stuff isn't working.

I drilled my ball with a 3-4 inch pin. And had a half inch negative cg. I am a big cranker. It can do everything. I can throw it on any type of condition. The best condition that I like throwing it on is heavy oil on the inside and medium oil on the outside. I shot my first 300 about a week after I got the ball in April. Since then I have had 2 others. Since I have had it I have averaged a 208. I would recomend this ball to anybody who is consistent on throwing the ball.

The ball has been good since I first threw it. I have not altered the surface except for cleaning and I don't think I will ever need to. The ball goes long for me and holds true to the line that I put it on. I was able to play 5th arrow on a demanding PBA regional shot consistantly for 5 games. It also mixed the pins well when hitting light, and crsuhed them when flush leacing minimal 10 pins. I wouldn't reccomend this ball for someone who plays on heavy oil though. It wants to skid very long and had little to no recovery. It can however be used as a down and in ball in heavy oil if that's your game.

would reccamend this ball to anyone who needs a hard finnishing, hard hitting ball. it gets through the heads smootly and breaks late and hard. seems to stay cleaner than my Ricochet. this ball will come back fom the gutter.. lost one shot and the ball looked like it was half in the gutter, still made it back to the pocket. had to move shot five boards since the Pro Tour was hear in september. but have only had one bad nite since getting this ball. lane machine was not stripping the back ends. will give a second review when season ends.<scrip

First ball out of the bag. This ball spoiled me on my accuracy because I stopped aiming for only one board....sheesh. For the current price of this ball, you will not find a better performer. On medium oil the Rip stores up so much energy...the pins will dance. Ignores the first 40' then snaps. When dry enough to throw 15 to 7, the ball will whip back. I have never had this ball roll out. Drilled pin high. Do not use on heavy oil... it will curl a little but won't set up for the seven pin.

This is my 2nd report on ball. About a year ago I got this ball and it was perfect, good for almost any shot. But Ive bowled over 300 games with it. I was so surprised, Ive never seen a ball that dies this fast. Before, it had a super backend, even on carrydown, but now, it's dump. No hook, no power, no nothin except for control. Im a power stroker with 20+ revs, just can't get the damn thing to move! But I still think this is a good ball =) Just don't bowl too much with it.

This ball is sweet. I bought it from my friend for $80 and it is the best investment I have ever made. It is drilled with a thumb slug and no finger inserts. This ball absolutely destroys the backend of any condition. I seldom leave corner pins and they are few and far between. This ball has so much room for error that you have about 12 boards to play with on just about any condition. I would recommend this ball to anyone but especially to the high rev players because of the ability to get through the heads and make it's move to the pocket like it's on a string.

Just a great ball over all. If you want something that will travel wide but will come back on the outside this is it. I got introduced to this ball about two months ago and have bowled some of my highest games ever I am telling you that this should be the ball on everone's christmas list this year. i love this ball and i will almost promise that if you like the wicked your love this ball from the first time you throw it.Way to go Colombia you score another 10 with this one. a great ball!! controllable but still gives nice shape!!! amazing carry!! love it!! cant go wrong with this ball!!! best ball i have bought for a long time!!! its great!!! i think you just need the righht ddrillin maybe a little bit too aggressive for dry lanes but on oil gives great power consistancy and not to forget that awesome carry!! say good bye to ten pins!! only fault i can find about it is sometimes skids too much and can end up sliding past the pocket. also if slightly patchy it loses its consistency and get irratic results!!! all in all though a great ball!!!

This ball is great! At first when I got it I was just more or less a rookie. I didn't really know how to use this ball. One of my earlier coach told me to throw it straight at the pocket, didn't work out. Later on I changed my ball roll and I just coudln't believe how strong this ball is. "Before I thought this ball was CraP" This ball brought my averaged from 145 to 195 "with help from the Track Money ball" I suggest people that is lookin for control, alot of pin action and somthing that won't distroy your wallet then the Reaction Rip is ment for you.

I posted a review on this ball with the pin 4 inches from the PAP, and the CG was kicked WAY far out next to the PAP. I knew this ball was capable of a better reaction, and I went to no grips, and no thumb pitch, so I thought I'd go ahead and plug it. Kept the pin 4 inches from the PAP but swung the CG back to under the bridge. I knew with the CG right there, I would have a load of finger weight, 7/8 oz. on the dot......WHEW daddy's good! Didn't pay much attn on the side weight, just did enough weighing to make sure it was under an ounce. Didn't even bother thumb weight. Static weights arent very important anyway. Walked out to the bowlin alley, threw it, just what I expected, slid thru the heads, strong snap on the backend.

If you want rooster tails thru the heads, buy a Roll. If you want them while picking up a 10 pin, buy a Ricochet. But if you want them thru the carry down, buy a Rip. I traded my Super Power for this ball after qualifying at a tournament, considering I won my Super Power, it was a kick @$$ trade. It's drilled 4 X 2 with the CG next to the weight hole. I was looking for something that didnt have as much backend as my Voodoo or skidded more. Even though they are made by Columbia and Track, this ball is an awesome compliment to the Voodoo. When its rolling early or having a tough time fighting thru the carrydown, pull out the Rip. Strangely enough, this ball has more backend when there is carrydown. This ball would have gotten a 10 if it snapped more.

This ball was suggested to me by my boss at the Strike Connection. He usually picks good ones, and this one is no exception. My 15 lb. RIP (pin out 3 inches, 3.25 oz. top) is drilled 5 x 4 1/2. Pin just above ring finger, cg 3/4 inches right of grip center, mass bias just right of thumb in strong position. Simply a weak leverage drill. I've tested the RIP on several conditions, but mostly on a normal 7 to 7 house shot with semi-clean backends. This condition is where Columbia's "high performance 2nd shift ball" is in its prime, in my opinion. This ball clears the heads easier than any ball I've ever thrown, and makes a strong, but not unpredictable move on the end of the lane. The pin carry is also very good. The entry angle produced just throws pins around. Plus, after the heads break down, you can move in and still use it, because it recovers so well. In a tournament in Des Moines, I used it for 8 games straight, with an 8 board total move. A must have for tournament

THE reaction rip definitly does what i want it to.. i drilled it 12:00 pin about 2" about the fingers.. this ball goes super long an doesnt over react which is why i drilled it-- i needed a ball that will glide through the heads with eas an have some hitting power left for college tournies around game 5-6. if there is oil all i can say is i have purchased a 200 dollar spare ball but on dry lanes that 200 dollar ball pays for itself. also i dulled the cover of the RIP to about 1000 so i wouldnt have the snap on the backend

Top weight-unknown Weight-15 Pin-2 1/2 inchs Drilled with pin 1/2 above ring finger cg slightly kicked out. Small weight hole needed. Factory Finish Pattern-oiled down to 35ft buffed to 37ft outside 3-4 boards are wet inside tone down a little bit. With a lot of carry down from previous use of the lanes. To start off I stand at 27 board, toss it out to the 12 board and swings to the 5 board. Very vestal in changing the break points of the ball can cup the wrist and make it roll up early or can flatten out and make it a very controlled backend. The other day i was practicing and couldn't carry for nothing so I pulled out this ball and it had so much energy at the pin deck I had no more problems carrying anymore.

Can't get a ball to go long enough for ya? This one will. This ball is very eye catching great green you guys < Columbia > . This ball has all the length anyone could ask for. The only thing I see that could cause problems is the violent turn it makes when it does turn. That isn't always a bad thing either. Stay away from wet dry leave this one in the bad untill the heads blow up and the carry down seems to be to much. The reaction line was lacking till thay made this one. Capt. Trplx Son of Jor-el
