Pro shop recommended this one when I went to get the EFX T1. Don't usually like purple balls, but took their advice. Good thing I listened to what I was paying them for. I can use this ball on medium all the way to heavy oil, and it will carry from (for me) all but the deepest angles. On a flood I use the Ernie Schlegle shot and it looked like 1960 again. On a medium condition I moved inside the 3rd arrow and threw it out there. Skid, roll, hook, and 10 in the pit. This ball is probably too much for medium and probably not enough for the heaviest patterns, but it will work.

this ball hits quite hard. I stand left of center and throw between the 2nd and third arrow on a normal day (i average 200+) and this ball turns and nails the pocket. The ball will sometimes leave a ringing 10 pin or leave a 9, but thats probbaly more through the fault of the bowler than the ball. However, the light hits i've noticed aren't as succesful as my other balls. I roll an Icon 2 and that'll carry the 7 pin an every single light hit, but my actin tends to leave that pin standing. Overall this is an excellent ball. I consistantly roll 200+ with it.

I've tried the Action both polished and sanded and got nice reaction out of both of them. With the polished it tends to be a bit squirty on the oil but playing it on wet/dry conditions and fresh house shots it really starts to show its potential. With it sanded, it can handle alittle more oil on the lanes but tends to burn more energy that way. The only downside was that I had it drilled label leveraged (4 x 5.5) and though it really tamed the backend reaction of it, it left alot of 9 and 10 pins on solid pocket shots. Other than that, a nice ball.

There is no way you can be disapointed with this ball. It hits great. No matter where you throw the ball outside of third arrow, it always flushes the pocket unless you slow your speed down a little, then it goes thru the nose. If my Black Widow isn't biting the lane hard enough, I go to my Action cause this ball bites a little more than my Widow. The ball also looks great going down the lane. If your looking for a ball that you can find used cheap and that curves a lot, go grab a Action.

Don't know much about ball drillings and I am left handed. Ball out of box 3-4 pin out and 1 3/4oz. Top weight. Ball drilled with pin at 10:30 position. Ball rolled out badly. Polished it two times to get ball down the lane. Hit with no power. Local pro Aberloned with 2000. WOW. Awesome now. Now ball goes through the heads real clean. Very smooth move to the pocket with lots of DRIVE and good carry. 1st game 279 left 7-pin in eighth frame. Fresh oil on syntheic lanes. Moved to lane with carrydown. Came back with 227 even with carrydown ball hit with lots of power and drive. LOVE IT NOW.

This ball is so versatile that you can play it up second arrow, mid second, and even up third arrow while standing on different boards of the approach. Being left handed has its advantages, but throwing a ball and not having to exert too much effort to get the ball back to the pocket, PRICELESS!!!! Its even that much better watchin it exit after the dammage is done. Right behind the five pin or just to the right of it. You know that you threw a good ball when the ball exits behind the fifth pin door, or the carry takes it just to the right of the five pin. I currently average better than 220 in league play and this ball has taken me to the party time after time with high games and high series over and over. To date I have had numerous 700 games with this ball... too many to count to be honest. With high games of 289, 288, 288, 279, 279, 277, 277, 276. Still working towards the 300. It will be coming shortly.

i would reccomend this ball to ANYONE if you bowl straight, or if you like to put hook on the ball. It is just a very good, reliable bowling ball. when it hits the pins, i seriously think that it dents the pins. even if you dont hit the pocket, the ball is so powerful that it hits all of the pins, and really throws them all around, so you get ALOT of pin action. I mean last year i got a ball for $110, it was alright, but then i saw reveiws and heard people talking about the action, so i got it and wow a huge improvment. last year it was just bowling for fun, now its serious becasue im actually good, and have agood and reliable bowling ball

FOR A BALL TO RECOVER ON A SLIGHTLY BAD ROLL. A BALL TO HOLD ITS GROUND ON OILY LANES, YOU COULDN'T ASK FOR MORE! THIS BALL ALONE MAKES BOWLING THAT MUCH MORE FUN. MY BALL HAS A 3.5 INCH PIN AND A HOLE DRILLED ON THE SIDE FOR BALANCE. BEING LEFT HANDED HAS ITS ADVANTAGES AS WELL. I DONT HAVE TO COMPETE AGAINST OTHER TRACKS LEFT ON THE LANES FROM OTHER BOWLERS. I STAND WITH MY LEFT FOOT AT THE 8-9 BOARD AND ON OTHER LANES SUCH AS AMF I STAND AT 3-4. IF I LEAVE RINGING 7'S I JUST POSITION MY FEET 4" BACK FORM MY LAST FOOT POSITION AND STRIKE! KABOOOM! COLUMBIA300 ACTION BABY! AT IT'S FINEST!!

I've had the ball 6 months now and it's lost a bit of zip on the finish, but not too much. What stands out is its reliability. On a house condition, it's nice to see it drift down through the oil, then make a committed turn to the pocket, which is really does seem to "read." Once the oil breaks down about five games after oiling, the shot becomes more difficult, of course, but I'm learning how far to move left or, like last night, to move right. Considering that my average is about 190, it's surprising how many hight 260+ games I've had with this ball.

first of all im a cranker. aprox 22 revs 17mph axis rotation 45. average 201 ball drilled like this o o p cg O normally i play in a center with med-heavy oil 40 feet with 27ml kegel kustodian ion, and brunswick anvilane. (thinks thats the name) this ball wont go long polished it with ebonite factory finish and i turns ealy but a very flippy ball still. need a lot of oil 2 handle this one. ¨very deep lines or oil carrydown helps it 2 go longer get jinx and hyjinx this week i will post a review next weekend after the turnement on a difficult sport shot<scr

first of all im a cranker. aprox 22 revs 17mph axis rotation 45. average 201 This ball is drilled like this: p o o cg x O dont know the specs. normally i play in a center with med-heavy oil 40 feet with 27ml kegel kustodian ion, and brunswick anvilane. (thinks thats the name) i only take this ball out of the bag when there is starting to come carry down or els it hooks to much. but for sure this ball is a heavy oil ball and i love it. it hooks alot more then the ultimate inferno and is more consistent tha any other ball i have ever thrown

HAVE NOT TRIED IT ON HEAVY OIL BUT I CAN GUARANTEE IT WILL COME BACK, IT HOLDS LINE NICE, VERY CONTROLABLE BREAK POING. I AM USING LEVERAG STACK DRILL PATTERN AND EVEN WITH THAT, THE BREAK POINT IS TRUE. I KNOW OWN THE AMF TERMINAL VELOCITY AND THE ACTION, ALL I CAN SAY IS, IN TWO BALLS I HAVE ALMOST EVERY PATTERN COVERED. BEATS THE HELL OUT OF CARRY 6. I USE TO BE AN EBONITE DEVOTEE, BUT THE EXCEL 500 REALLY DISAPOINTED ME. I NOW HAVE THE HOTS FOR COLUMBIA AND AMF (ALTHOUGH IF I UNDERSTAND IT RIGHT, COLUMBIA MAKES AMF BALLS)

I found this ball very forgiving. It reacts very consistantly for my game. Mine has a very controllable, strong break point. I had it drilled for maximum hook, so it is drilled strong for heavy oil. The pin is above and right of my middle finger. I'm a right-handed tweener and I usually struggle on soaked lanes because I have to slow my ball speed way down to get it to hook. With this ball I can keep my ball speed up and still get a great reaction on the back end. I have thrown it 15 games on synthetic and 3 on wood. It worked better for me on the typical house shot, but I always bowl better at home on wood than in tournaments on synthetic. I replaced my Ebonite One with this ball and I like it a lot more. I found that I was able to use this ball much longer than usual in a tournament when the lanes started breaking down. I switched to the One when it started hooking too much and I left back to back 4-9's. I got two nasty light hit splits with the One and put it away. I moved left

3.5" pin with 2.5 oz top weight Pin above ring finger cg kicked out to the right Start off with the likes.... this ball is simply amazing with pin action and how hard the ball hits, if your in the pocket you can pretty much turn ur back its going to strike, if you tend to get a little to far out it usually make it back if you have the revs on it. This ball is a great ball to get a read for the lanes with, its clean through the heads and has a great mid lane roll. Now for the dislikes, the problem with sensitivity with the release, its is a rev sensitive ball, if you flatten the shot out a lilttle bit its going to die on the backend, but dont go crazy with your rev cause this thing will fly back on the backend. Another thing i have noticed is that this ball seems to die down a little on the backend, like its burning up...it needs oil in the middle if you want a good reaction. Overall this is a great ball and pretty versitile...would strongly recommend this ball. Good Luc

I bought this ball a little less than a month ago and boy was I in for a treat. I told the pro shop guy that i wanted a strong continous arc from the ball with a tiny but noticable lil snap on the back end at the breakpoint. All I gotta say is WOW!!!!!!. I was amazed at the reaction this ball has. I wouldnt really say it snaps but it does roll out really nice and kind of Flips and Dashes to the pocket. This is by-far the best ball I have ever bought. Very versitle ball. I finally have a ball that I can throw at all the houses I currently bowl at. This ball raised my avg about 10+ pins since I got it. havent shot below a 580 yet. And i almost threw my first 700 with it tonight. Overall its an amazing ball. Best ball I have thrown by C 300. By the way I throw only C300 with a few exceptions here and there.

ITS MY FIRST COLUMBIA BALL SINCE THE "ROLL". WHAT A GREAT HITTING BALL WHICH PUSHES THE 7 PINON A POOR HIT. IT ROLLS EVENLY AND ENTERS THE POCKET WITH AUTHORITY. I USE THE BALL DURING THE 2ND GAME WHEN THE OIL IS PUSHED LEFT. I PLAYED 8-9TH BOARD WITH 40 FEET OF OIL AND IT WAS STRONG. ITS READS THE OIL PATTERN QUICKLY AND CONTINOUS BACK END. SHOT 289 OUT OF THE BOX. I BOWLED 4 WEEKS SHOOTING OVER 700. A MUST IN THE BAG.ENJOY. GOOD JOB COLUMBIA. I MAY EGT THE ACTION PACKED AS MY 3RD BALL ARSENOL. I WATCHE TEATA SEMIZ(PBA SR) SHOOT GREAT NUMBERS.

At 15 miles per hour, measured 10 feet from the pins, the Action has the strongest hooking action of any ball I've thrown. At much higher speeds on substantial oil, it doesn't hook as much as my Vertigo, but that's probably a factor of the surface grit. Carrydown oil is my biggest challenge with the Action so far. I only have a handful of games on it with this condition, and would love to hear how other bowlers are faring. I'm experiencing swings of 80+ points in score when the conditions change rapidly, as they seem to do here in Spring.<sc

The stability of the Action appears to be remarkable, but I only have a dozen games on it. I haven't figured how to play it straight up yet, but it works well from 14-20 mph bellied out little or lots. Another guy in our league throws it with little flare so that the ball revs up around a central axis point visibly, looking beautiful as it makes its turn with a high angle toward the pocket. I haven't figured out how to throw it like that yet, and mine sort of tumbles toward the pocket with its axis leaning back somewhat. Time to take it to a few different lanes and play around a bit. When the lanes dry out, it's an easy ball to project further down the heads and have it come snapping back at good speed.

Drilled this ball up with a mildly weak layout... pin below the ring finger with the cg nearly in line... I have a slow speed and a good amount of side rotation... so the typical reaction a bowling ball has for me is skid/snap, and that's no matter how I drill one or how the surface is maintained.... This ball is an absolute monster and should be illegal... I picked up three balls... the action (duh), a power drive, and an original inferno... and the action is by far the muscle I'd been searching for.... it checks up early but doesn't roll out, instead it has a pretty strong backend reaction.... I was truly shocked If you don't have an aggressive ball, this should be the one for you... it is only comparable to the scorchin'.... except for the rolling out part haha

One of the best balls I have ever owned. Many 700s and a 300 since I drilled it up. Have not had the opportunity to use on sport shot yet, but soon. Really gets good length, and hits like a freight train. Looking forward to see what the Action Packed does. It would be hard to top the Action. Thinking about drilling one for a heavier oil pattern. Not many corner pins with this ball. Overall this is one of the best Columbia balls I have ever owned. I like what the company has done. Keep up the good work.

This is a very-good bowling-ball, it hits very hard and you can hear the sound thru the House. Normally as Bowlers we rave about the sound that a good ball makes when it hits the pins, however what impressed me most about this ball, is how the pins look when they are falling; (it just looks different with this ball) everything is kept low, and I have never seen a ball send as many messeger-strikes (even thru the nose shots), as this thing does. This ball is easy to control, and it will roll where you want it to roll (thumb positioning). I also found it easy to clean, the dirt and oil wipes away easily, I cannot even imagine another ball that is out there now that is better and more consistent than the ACTION (Columbia may have saved themselves with this ball, due to the problems with that EPX-1).

I've got this ball about two months ago and it was my first venture into the 16ibs class so I had some adjusting to do from a 14 pounder( Brunswick-Inferno). It really paid off, the ball has a very attractive and powerful coverstock and delivers a powerful punch. It is very predictable and enters the 1-3 pocket with graet ease...I would definitely recommend this ball to anyone...I believe even the pros (Chris Barnes) uses the Columbia 300- Action...and that is great company to keep!!!!! I have used the ball in most conditions but mostly in med-heavy oil, in cases where the lanes ran dry, I have had to speed up the delivery or move several boards to the left.

This is the best ball I've used in 10 years. It hooks a ton and does not quit. It carrys the lite hit like mad. This ball craves oil and needs oil in the heads. Out of the box I shot 644 but hooking early so I had it polished and it got even better. The key to the sucess of this ball is keeping the surface clean. If you don't like cleaning your ball this is not the ball for you. The only dislike is I can't use the ball for all three games. When the heads break down I have to switch to my U Turn Reactive.
