I'm back to rereview the Whiplash. The house I play on, puts tons of oil and I think this ball is starting to loose it's hook. What I used to play, I had to swing it towards the gutter and have it arc back into the pocket. Now I can't do that anymore. I can only play straight up between 2-3rd arrow and in. Any swing and it doesn't come back. The house didn't change the amount of oil they put on the lanes. On the other hand, Last week I brought the Whiplash to a house that puts medium to light oil and this ball was a monster. I was able to play a similar line to Robert Smith! I decided it's time to retire this heavy oil ball and polish it up so I can use it to play on light-medium oil and buy a new ball. I have always been impressed with Storm products but haven't tried any of their balls yet. I did not like the Monster Frenzy I bought from Brunswick a few years back. So I decided to order an X-Factor Vertigo. Their website says it's for Heavy Oil so I ordered one up. Hope it's real

I know this ball has recieved good reviews in the past, but mine was one of the worst balls I have thrown. Maybe mine was a fluke, but I no kidding couldn't get mine to hook in anything but light oil. Mine had a relatively small pin of about 2'' and the guy I had drilling it wasn't the best ever, which I am sure had a lot to do with it. On dry shots, it under/over reacted and I couldn't get a consistent shot with it. And I already mentioned that I couldn't use it on oil. I have plenty of rev's on it and my old Angle LD crushed this thing in terms of hooking potential. After several bad weeks and lots of trying to like this ball, I couldn't do it and it know sits at the bottom of Davy Jones' locker.

This is a great ball for pretty much any condition! When I first got serious into bowling, I purchased a Brunswick Monter Frenzy. I had so many problems with this ball. It was unpredictable and was very lane specific. I had it redrill for a more predictable hook, but it still reacted the same. Hooking too much, then not hooking! (Never again will I purchase a Brunswick product) I was pretty bummed out about my purchase. Then, one of my friends offered to give me his old ball, an AMF Whiplash. I wasn't sure what condition this ball was made for but since I really didn't have a good ball to rely on, I took his offer and had it drilled for maximum hook. Boy, does this ball rolls so well. I practiced on many different lanes and this ball always comes back to the pocket and is predictable. The house I bowl leagues on dishes out really heavy and long oil patterns. I go down and in and this ball has a nice smooth arc and smashes the pocket everytime. Sometimes they'll put less oil on the la

a ball that is readable is a hard item to find in these days of short oil and synthetic lanes. this piece of equipment is as good as any thing iam carrying now & is 6yrs old - as bowlers we tend to forget what we have sitting in our closets and go buy the latest and greatest ball available - remember that sometimes older is as good a new and improved. with so many choices out there with new tech take a moment and look at what you currently have and update as needed and give it a throw - see what happens you may be presently surprised. good luck and hit 'em big.

shot 721 with this old ball with a few online info bits of info and it hits better than any of the new equipment that i have now - even at 16#'s - will have my new equipment setup to match this - just a reminder that newer is not always better and to keep up with the times am 46 and thought that i knew alot about this game - you are never to old to learn - keep an open mind and have fun bowling - i love this game . this piece of equipment is drilled reverse label 2.25 pin left below midline w/basic full roller drill setup - hit like a ton - left 2 sevens and 2 tens plus one split - best nite i have ever shot (first 700 series sanctioned).<sc

First off, this ball is a pin-in at 1 inch. So it is somewhat limited in that respect. I got this ball on ebay for $46.00 plus shipping, not bad since I've been out of bowling for 10 years and just wanted something to get me going again. It's 15 lbs. Anyway, it's drilled with the pin under the ring and the cg stacked just below. It had somewhat of a shiny finish on it out of the box. I'm a lefty so keep in mind that my side of the lane is rarely used and usually oiled up well. On a medium oil lane I was able to stand middle dot and swing it out between the second and third arrow and it made a smooth arc back to the pocket. After the carry down increased though, this ball lost it's reaction on the back end. I was then forced to play down and in which doesn't fit my style. I was able to find a fairly drier lane and managed a 290 with it (my best game by the way). At a house with heavy oil however, I had no luck with this ball at all. I could barely break 150. This ball just skidded right
