It might not be a New Dyno Thane "Element" or The Ebonite "Xcel"; but it gets the job done none the less. This ball is supposed to be out of date and a piece of garbage in many new bowlers eyes because the facts are it is old and doesn't cost a arm and a leg if you can find one. In my opinion I'd put my AMF "Pearl Whiplash", with the way I had it specifically drilled,up against any of the new balls on the market.A ball can make you a better bowler I do believe, but You have to fell confident in your ball and love the way it feels in your hand. I keep mine in my main bag right along my Hammer "Wheel" and my Brunswick "Ultimate Inferno". It gets used more than any of my balls because it is so diverse.

I had this ball drilled with a 5 inch pin above my ring finger. The cg is not quite kicked out all the way to the skid-flip position, but it is also not stacked. I have my traditional 3/4 side and 5/8 finger. The ball has a real nice, and for the most part hard, reaction. This ball hits and carries pretty well. I have used it inside around 3rd arrow and I can also swing it from 35 to 10 and it recovers pretty well. When the lanes dry up it gets alittle wild, but for the most part a very suprisingly good ball.

I must admit....for a discontinued ball, I would not go anywhere without this as a back up. I recently pull out this ball on some of the "older" synthetic lanes and rolled a 756 series with it....my highest series to date. i dont think I will retire this ball at anytime soon...It skids long in the oil and about 3/4 of the way down, I begin to wonder if it is even going to come back!!! Then....WHAM...it hammers at the pocket and blows the pins down. It is definitly not a "10 pin" ball though....REALLY rough to pick that one off with it unless ya flatten the hell out of it.

After finally getting the ball situation taken care of I can write a decent review. When polished this ball just didn't do it for me.. Second shift christmas tree pattern, this ball worked well till the backends started drying out, and this ball became too jumpy. I Tried this on a fresh pattern flat oil down to 44' this ball did extremely well. I used this ball for all 5 games that I bowled, and was very impressed with its performance. When I hit my mark the ball did its job. Over all this ball is discontinued but still available on auction sites, and other places. Its not a bad ball but no where near as versatile as other balls I have in my arsenal.

Whip....HUH?!?! Definately not WhipLASH, there is nothing LASH about this ball. Ball is drilled stacked, pin right below ring finger. I was disappointed in the backend from this ball. A superflex coverstock with a flip core I expected so much more. I have to crank the ball harder that I usually do to even get it to move 10-15 boards and that's playing the dry boards. I'm not sure of the kind of shot to use this on yet, so far it's been on synthetics where it didn't really shine too much and on fresh oiled league conditions. Playing straight up 10 I got it to move a bit, but not too much, it light in the pocket all night. Overall the ball may be decent on dryer conditions we'll just have to see on summer conditions. Not too good of a job AMF. I give it a 8 out of 10 and that may be a tad generous.
