Track Solution Power Plus EX Bowling Ball

(13 reviews) Write a Review

The Solution Power Plus EX is designed for those with slower ball speeds and those bowling on lighter oil conditions, where delaying the hook is most important. The high-luster, polished Power Plus EX reactive resin is designed to grab the lane less in the mid-lane, allowing the bowler to play a straighter trajectory to the pins. A lower flare version of the Elite core provides the explosive hitting power that Track products are known for.

This tool was designed for players looking for more length on lighter conditions. I found it too jumpy for an "outside" ball and too weak to swing through the slick. If I had some oil outside, I could get some hold down the lane but then it would hockey stick to the pocket and hit rather flat. Carry was less than I expected for a Track product but that also has alot to do with The lines this ball forced me to play. I sold this ball after about 3 sessions and it fit the new owners game quite well. He is more of an up the back player with not alot of turn and was able to play down five with great success. Strokers should be very pleased with this ball but the polished finish that leads to the over reaction will eat up tweeners and crankers. Scotchbrite pads may help but the overall weakness of the cover will limit its use. Naturally, wood lanes may tame the skid/flip.

14 lb ball; 2" pin, 2 1/8 top weight, modified 5x5 layout On light to medium oil this ball goes very long, saves energy and gives that classic Track hit. On very dry lanes this ball is controlable and scores well. It is however a hook monster in these circumstances. This can be fun as team mates say: "Isn't that your spare ball?" On a medium heavy to heavy lane this is usually my spare ball. On the conditions this ball was designed for you can ball some very high scores. On challenging broken down lane conditions I will often try this ball down and in for a straighter line which often works very well indeed. Everyone needs a ball like this in their bag.

Wanted a ball between my urethane trooper and my powerdrive. After looking at stats decided on this ball. Bought it off eBay for about $30 + shipping. 15# 2.6 oz top weight, 3 in pin. Drilled stacked pin over ring finger (5X5). Practiced with it tonight for first time. Don't have any 300 stories (ball stuck in my hand on 8th frame of second game, wound up with a 265). Nor do I have a 700 story (ball stuck again during 12th frame of third game for a 6 count and 698 series). Of course I really only bowled about 2 1/2 games with this ball, other 1/2 game was comparing this ball with my other ones (and getting warmed up). Drilling worked out to be exactly where I was hoping this ball would fit in my arsenal. Was able to throw ball about 12 to 8, and came back to pocket nicely. On same lanes my powerdrive played 14 to 8. I did miss outside a couple of times and the ball came roaring back. I'm sure this ball would hook a lot on dry lanes. I didn't leave any light hits

this ball is the twin sister to the crunchtime and i love every aspect of it. i had to retire my crunchtime just shortly after throwing a 300 with it because it was caught in the back and cracked..... sad day... anyway... after emailing track they suggested this ball, i just got it and drilled it on friday, first set out of box drilled 5 1/2 x 5 was a 733. my first seven this year. one of the most consistent ball movements and weight blocks around. hooks just like the crunchtime which is more than advertised but always playable with the proper drilling. cant say enough about this ball

The Solution Power Plus EX combines the superflex coverstock with classical "Candy Bar" core.It makes this ball can go deep area & recover by huge backend. Actually my SPPE is a 2nd stuff(only engrave lost on surface a bit). However, after suitable drill layout. My 2nd SPPE can works better than my Xception in bag to handle mid-heavy oil pattern. My ball is 15lbs 2 oz weight,Top 2-1/4 oz , 5" x 5" layout. 1st trail shot -- 38 feet oil ; The SPPE goes smooth in the head, when passing thru dry zone.Tons of backend can be estimated & some of shot easy over-miss pocket position. 2nd trail shot -- 43 feel oil ; SPPE moves like straight spare ball.Need to reduce ball speed & increase rotation rolls to maintain the right shot in pocket. 3rd trail shot -- 38 feet + carry down ; A little early roll in the head & very poor grip force in carry down part. 4th trail shot -- 35 feet + carry down ; Better reaction than 3rd trail. But easy got corner pin by pocket shots. Wish you can also

Layout - Pin 4 3/4" In ring hole, CG 4 1/2" (ALL FROM PAP) Surface - 800grit then hit with light coat of clean n sheen Reaction This ball has some massive backend. I wouldnt Expect a ball that clears the dry heads and dry mids so greatly to have such a strong read on the dry backends. I was expecting somthing a little smoother but the backend on this ball is somthing I really like. Rating 10 Readabily This ball could be the benchmark ball in the bag. I belive this if you have it drilled a specific way and keep the cover at about 800. The drilling I have on this ball makes it to weak to read the lane with. The drilling on this would have to be somthing like pin under and to the right of the ring finger for a right hander and the cg almost stable. The surface at 800 would make this ball handle oil a little better. Rating 10 Versitility I think this ball has some great versitility. seeing how it can be the benchmark ball and how I have it. Rating 10 Hit This ball h

I bought this ball to replace the Triton Elite that I have long since removed from my bag. I drilled the ball pin 3 3/8" from my PAP and the CG 3" from my PAP. My PAP is 4 1/2 over and 1/4 up. This ball is one of the best investments in my bowling game that I have ever made. This ball is extremely smooth and reads the midlane better than anything else I have. Plus the cost of the ball can not be beat. This ball does have trouble with a lot of oil, but then again I didn't buy this ball for oil. The other problem I have with this ball is the action I get in the pocket. The ball carries well but at times it sounds like and you get the feeling that this ball hits like a mushroom. However, that set aside I would recommend this ball to anyone who liked the Triton Elite's or looking for a great medium, mid-priced ball. I have already gotten a couple honor shores with the ball and plan on buying a few more to try different drillings and maybe keep one for later. Because you never know when yo

I have never owned a Track ball before this one. This ball hooks early and a ton. I bought this ball for dry lanes and their is no way I can use it. It has worked fairly well on Med. lanes. With some polish the ball should be able to get down the lane farther then it does now. Hooks as much as my Inferno, just hooks about 15 feet sooner. When it hits the pins it hits very hard, just seems not to carry as good as some of the other companys. I have been throwing Brunswick and Storm equiment as of late, thought I would give Track a try. Looking forward to getting a new ball.

This ball and the SPP are the best balls I have thrown in years. When I found out this ball was basically the same as the Triton Elite Pearl, I did not regret getting rid of the Triton Elite Pear because the fingers cracked out. I do not use any inserts at all anymore, I like the natural feel for the fingers and thumb. This ball will still finish hard without using inserts. This ball likes to do the work. Being a stroker I can use my natural release whether I change thumb position to a low track or a high track, this ball still works. However; the ball sets up real nice with a high track and finishes strong and carries the 10 pin. If the lanes are bone dry, it will dive on the headpin. In the case of real dry lanes at my center, I put this ball up and use the SPP by bellying the ball in the oil and letting it slide into the dry, and then flip back to the pocket.

Well.........this is the first Track product I have ever used. It was a challenge learning how this ball wanted to be thrown. First of all I had it drilled 1/2" from center which was a little agressive. With that said, this was a hook monster on the medium oil conditions I bowl on (back end dry). I wanted this ball to play on the outside (first or second arrow). No way Jose! I had to play this right down the inside out gut like my Uranium Buzzsaw. It took 8 games to figure this ball out. It felt good, so I did not want to give up on it. I found the right spot and then they started flyin!!!!!!! I will chalk up the 7 piin rating to my having the ball drilled too aggressively. But it still should not be rated as a dry condition ball. Drilled properly it is a great medium condition ball. I would not hestitate to buy another (IT IS A GREAT DEAL!!) and drill it less aggressive (more carry down-late break). I would be very confident that this ball would have plenty stored up for

Ball: Pin 4 1/2 from PAP located directly in the ring finger, CG stacked below it no weighthole. Surface is OOB. Lane Conditions: I have used this ball on several different patterns. HOOK: Heavy Oil- The Solution PP EX is not meant for heavy oil at all. It will sail until it hits dry and if it goes too long there is not enough in this ball to make it recover. 3 out of 10 Medium- The Solution PP EX is awesome on medium to light conditions as long as the ball has a clean dry area to make its move from. I stress again that it will need to find some dry. It will have a difficult time on the heavier side of mediums. 8 out of 10 light- As long as there is enough oil to get it down the lane the Solution PP EX will work fine on lighter patterns. At the first sign of dry it makes an immediate left turn. 8 out of 10 Total Hook: I place the Solution PP EX along side of the Dry Heat as far as overall hook strength. It dislikes oil in the backends but needs it help aid

This ball I have one word for it...... WOW!!!!!!!! This ball not good in floods, still gets to the pocket but will leave corners, need medium to light oil or even carry down, I love this ball in the carry down when the solution just doesnt carry the corners any more pull out the EX... ball is drilled pin 5", cg 4", pin above midline 3". No balance hole. Box finish... this ball has great skid through the fronts especially when the heads start to burn out still gets through. stores alot of energy for the backends this ball takes the corner very hard. This ball is a great comliment to of course the Solution, Xception 5.0, adn the Freak-A-Zoid.... If you liied the original Hex then this is a must have ball for you... Well that is my review on the Solution EX, stay tunned for the review on the Arsenal Reactive.... I am outtie from Canada people.... Jason Dee Track International Amateur Staff

Solution EX - I drilled this ball with a 2.5 in pin from axis with the balance hole again on my axis. I left the surface the original box finish (medium shine). I drilled this ball to complement the PP. Once the track starts to burn out on the lane and the PP reads the lanes too early I can pull out the EX and get a very similar reaction. This ball also has great hit and carry. Both of these new balls from Track provide premium performance with a very reasonable price tag. Remember I drilled these balls VERY condition specific. These cores are very versatile and can be drilled for almost any condition. Just more great equipment from Track.
