RS-1

(14 reviews) Write a Review
Roto-grip has done it with the introduction of the RS1. This new mid-price ball delivers unmatched performance in its class. The modified Rotary III core has been encapsulated to lower the RG as well as raising the differential. This translates into better read in the body of the lane along with stellar energy retention down the lane. The Sure Grip Reactive Pearl shell on the Roto Star provides modest length and volatile backend reaction on those medium patterns.

I would recommend this RG ball. It does have a lot of backend and that is fine depending on your shot. I can throw this ball down 6-8 to swing it from 20-10 and will recover equally well and smash the pocket. Over all a good ball. ns odf bn sab vb svo bsa obvv nsa vnsa nvpsa nvon sao vbsa ov bo sa vbn oasv non vos andv ian sv pan spv nas pvnp as'vnpa'sv np'sa nvp'sa dnvp'a sdnvpkas nvp'sandpv'sanpv'xv manfvna dfb np'adfnb p'afd npbva 'npnvp 'nvpk 'afbnpa'fbm pafnbpk'fd sanbp'asmnbp'asnbpa'snpkv'asnvpk'sam nbp'sanpkb'anspk'bvnsap'vnpsa 'vnpa's

When I asked my bowling ball adviser about this ball, he gave me only one adjective to it.... POWERFUL. True enough. Out of the box, threw a couple of games on it and this ball can still be forgiving even if i dont hit my mark. It's PREDICTABLE because all it does is it's expected skid/snap action. But when it hits the backends, all hell breaks loose. Pins flying everywhere, baby! One word of caution though, never under any circumstances are you to play this ball on dry lanes. Overall, it's a great ball to add to your arsenal. Nuff said, let's bowl!!!

I drilled this ball up label leverage. Ball reacts nicely and does a number on the pins but it is no better than the significantly less expensive Ultra Sonic. Why do these companies create multiple balls with similar characteristics and one is sold for so much more than the other? Is it a prestige thing to own the more costly one? My main goal is to bowl as well as I can and if I can do it for less money then that's the way I'll do it. Nice ball but go with the UltraSonic. It's just as good.

I was playing this ball down and in and inside. This ball would work both ways. This ball is a pin-inn. It is drilled for med length and very aggressive backend. This ball does what it's supposed to do. It would skid about 40 feet and then take an amazingly sharp turn into the pocket. This ball did leave a lot of 10 pins for me though. It's probably my own problem though. I don't have a very consistent throw yet as I have only been bowling for about half a year now. When I played down and in, the hook was very controllable. (I try to play different styles) The ball would actually start turning a little earlier and then make a nice smooth turn into the pocket.

Thanks Mr Boomershine for replacing my Retro Blue. I have been able to play the deep inside shot with great carry as well as playing 10 to the gutter. Very strong skid /flip off the dry from deep inside and that hard arc from down and in. A must have for the Roto fan with no disappointment. I had my driller put a few away for me. I can not afford to let this ball get discontinued like the Retro Blue and not be able to find one anywhere. Definitly a keeper in my arsenal for a longtime. Keep up the great work.

This ball is very clean through the heads with a more medium backend reaction than a violent snap wich makes control and adjusting easy to do. Drilled the ball with a 3 inch stack and the flare is unreal, but the ball hardly ever even wanted to over-react, but had the strength to come back on most misses to the left. As a whole, this ball is my most reliable ball both on easier house shots and on tougher medium/short length sport and tourney shots, however, if you have a flood through the heads on a long shot the ball may under react to leave washouts. Overall review, great ball, espically for the price

pin 1o'clock cg stacked & kicked 1/2"out, got this one drilled for med. conditions normal house shot and this is one out of this world ball it's everything you could ask for goes through the heads clean, nice predictable mid lane roll stores up enegry like no tommorow then pounces like an out of control demolitions expert on steriods. If the carry down is heavy or heavy oil this ball will float or squirm causing the expected reaction,if to dry it's out of the house.I would recomend this ball to anyone loojing for a pearl beast of a bal

I needed to replace my Silver Streak Pearl, it's seen better days. So I talked to the Roto- Grip Rep. He suggested RS-1. So he had me try one out. He gave me one with a 3.0 in pin and 2.75 oz top. I drilled it like my Silver Streak Pearl. Pin just above my ring finger and the CG kicked out slightly. So I gave it try. I was playing between 3rd and 4th arrow and out to 8. WOW! It was very smooth in the front part of the lane., with good length and with very strong backend. It hits very hard with great pin action. tried it several times since. Hasn't let me down yet.

Awesome price, great ball, must buy! Not only is this ball effective but it is affordable. Can be played on any shot. Better to swing out than play down and in because i would rather have the occasional 9 pin than ringing tens all day. Must use towel with this ball or the track on it will make it slide a lot more and not allow it to get in a roll as soon as you would want it too. Roto-grip has made in my opinion the best ball on the market for the price and the conditions common in all houses.

I liked the first one I drilled so much i now have 2 of them in my arsenal. Both balls are drilled with the pin 4 1/2 inches from my pap with the mass bias strong. Ball #1 has the pin ;ocated above the ring finger and ball #2 has it located below the ring finger. Both balls hook about the same number of boards but #1 goes about 7 feet longer down the lane and then puts on a major left turn ( huge back end ) # 2 is earlier and smoother with the same great hitting power. I have drilled several of these for other people who love them equally as well

I was looking for a ball I can use on tougher shots like in tournaments. I struggle on sport shots since I have no ball that gets down the lane and comes back. The Eraser Boost can come back but is terrible on getting in the lane when the heads are dry. The Blazing Inferno can get through the heads no sweat, but it lacks friction. So then I realized I need a strong pearl reactive. Pearl for getting down the lane and still having the strength to come back. I was thinking about the Triple X Factor, but it was too pricey for me at the time. I then looked at the Recharge which is basically a cheaper Triple X Factor. When I looked at the technical numbers I was worried that the RG was too high for it to rev up enough on harder patterns. I finally looked at Roto-Grip which is part of Storm and saw this, the RS1. The RS1 is an all around great ball for anyone. When I got it drilled, I was playing up the boards with the blazing. I tried this out and it hooked like crazy!

Man.......Roto Grip!!! (*STANDS UP AND CLAPS*) All I can say is WOW!! I have never thrown a ball with this much of a backend reaction!! I LOVE THIS BALL. This kind of Backend Reaction was the only thing missing in my arsenal. I thought that my Oracle had a decent backend, but nothing like this. This months oil pattern has an O.B. area that i had too worry about. But when i threw my RS1, i had nothing to worry about because my ball still finished in that O.B. area. I was playing where nobody else could play!! TWO THUMBS UP AS USUAL!! www.hitvbowling.com

The RS-1 (Roto Star 1) was designed to be a nice addition to an already strong mid-price line of equipment. This ball is alot of bang for the buck. It was designed for those medium patterns or a little bit flatter patterns. It clears the front with ease and really starts to read up in the mid-lane. It rolls through the carry-down like it is not even there. The higher differential gives it the added kick down the lane that you are looking for. It is the perfect ball to get inside and open the lane up. Look for this one in your local pro shop today.
