Yeti Uncaged

The cover is a pearlized resin but with a twist. A new flip additive is being used, and it has proven to be quite an addition to our already dynamic resin technology. We wrapped this super cover around the already proven and popular Yeti core creating a sharper transition resulting in more backend reaction than the preceding Yeti balls. The Yeti Uncaged will match up well on most medium lane patterns, and it will provide exceptional ball motion when playing a deeper inside line. Of course, the patented scoop core concept provides a wide range of drill patterns to match nearly all bowling styles.

Drilled this ball looking for skid-flip and didn’t get as much as I thought. The drill is my go-to drill for this reaction but the ball didn’t make the move I expected. THS 41 feet – Ball came off the point well when it got to the dry. However, when I moved in the ball struggled in the hold and carry down. WTBA Atlanta pattern – 38 feet was good for this ball. It allowed it to make the point and drive. When this ball gets moving through the pins it finishes well. Again, the issue with it was when the oil went down the lane it struggled to make the point. Overall, I think the ball is good for friction but if you’re looking for something that’s going to fight the carry down that ball didn’t do it for me. Surface change or higher VAL angle may be needed for that for high speed players. Darrell Lovell, www.bowlerx.com staffer

Radical has hit a home run with the Uncaged. I used my benchmark drill on this one 45 x 5-9/16 x 70. The reaction I got out of the Uncaged was tremendous. Its incredibly smooth through the front, doesn't over react in middles and then makes a strong statement on the backend. I took it straight from the Pro Shop to the lanes for league and shot 300-800 right out of the box, 3 weeks ago, and have since shot 2 more 800's, 2-290 games, and 2 more 300's. The Uncaged will be a great addition to anyones arsenal.

My release specs: PAP: 4.75 +.75 Tilt: 10* AxRo: 45* Revs=Speed I drilled this one with the MOtion Hole layout. This placed the pin beside my ring finger. I first bowling with it without the weight hole. This ball gave me a lot of skid and a strong back end motion. There was a lot of oil, and with the box finish I couldn't get a great look with it. I then added a 7/8"x4" MOtion Hole. It added at least 3 feet to my break point, but with the oil I couldn't see much more hook as the cover with box finish was too glossy. Next day in league I started with my Unleased (double thumb layout). Once the heads started breaking down I decided to switch to the Uncaged. I ended up about 5-6 board left by the end of the game, not because of over hooking, but because I could just let this ball out and it would come back from anywhere. I never had a ball open up the lane for me like this. The MOtion Hole layout gave me more hook and continuation through the pin deck which allowed me to carry all sorts of shots. During the third game of league I just kept on moving left just to see what it would do. I was able to control the pocket for another 12 boards. All I needed to do was throw it right and let it turn side ways in the back end. Drilling one with out a MOtion Hole this week (75*x4.75"40*)
