Radical Yeti Unleashed Bowling Ball

(2 reviews) Write a Review
The newly developed solid cover wrapped around the already proven and popular Yeti core offers a very strong mid lane motion and more total hook than the two preceding Yetis. The Yeti Unleashed will match up well on most tournament conditions and heavier oil league patterns. The patented scoop core concept provides a wide range of drill patterns to match nearly all bowling styles on medium to heavy oil lane patterns.

I used the double thumb layout on this ball. ~75/4/30 This is the strongest asymmetrical core to date. The strong cover will hook on any heavy oil shot. I am a low tilt player, so 95% of my layouts require a pin up drilling. This puts my fingers in the "scoop" area of the core. This maintains core height which keeps the diff's high (more hook!). In other words, I need help getting the ball through the first transition and more help getting the ball to turn in the second transition. That is where the scoop core works its magic. Pin up layouts on every ball will help me with this reaction, but the Finger Scoop cores help even more. For high tilts players, they need a slightly smoother break in the second transition. This usually gives them a pin down layout. With the Finger Scoop core, you take out extra core height, lowering the diff's, giving you that smoother break. The Yeti core is the strongest, most versatile symmetrical core. It is very responsive to weight holes and different drilling techniques. You can dramatically increase your ball reaction with the double thumb weight hole giving bowlers a lot of hook at a much lower price point. I like this ball for heavy oil. It gives me more hook than any other symmetrical ball. If you are looking for a stronger reaction, drill the double thumb layout (??/4/30), and bowl with that. Put the CG in a position that you do not require a weight hole, but can still drill one to take out a significant amount of inner core volume. If the reaction works for you then leave it. If you want more hook drill the double thumb weight hole.

Drilled the Unleashed with my benchmark drill, pin down (45 x 5-9/16 x 70). The Unleashed gives the Yeti line the strong solid to compliment the Yeti and Yeti Untamed. The Unleashed gave me the look I was looking for when my original Reax was too early and the original Yeti was not enough. The reaction through the pins follows the Radical signature of keeping the pins low and pushing them straight back helping get those corner pins out. If your looking for a Mid line symmetric with a solid coverstock to compliment you tournament arsenal or you league arsenal look no further than the Unleashed.
