Venom Panic

Engineered for light to medium oil, the Venom Panic is the first pearl ball ever released in the Venom series. Utilizes the proven Gear core. It has a lower RG for easy revs and a lower differential to retain energy for outstanding continuation. The new Turmoil™ MFP (Medium Friction Pearl) Pearl Reactive cover stock is engineered to provide more length than the Venom Shock and a more angular backend motion. For the average bowler, the Venom Panic will provide excellent length and a strong backend with a smoother transition. High rev bowlers, in particular, will appreciate that smoother transition since some angular equipment can be too jumpy. Tournament bowlers will like the Venom Panic for the same reason, but also because it retains so much energy for proper continuation. It simply gets through the pins the right way on light to medium oil shots

The Venom Panic uses the same Gear core found in the Venom series. The Turmoil™ MFP coverstock allows for a cleaner and more responsive ball reaction then the Venom Shock. This is the ball to go to when the Venom Shock hooks too early and it loses its continuation. Simply go right to this ball and keep striking. I drilled mine identical to the Venom Shock and find it to be much cleaner through the front of the lane. To get the ball to be more similar to the Shock, I added and X-Hole in the P3 position to give it slightly more midlane motion. Adam Chase Motiv Staff

I am sure that we have all heard the phrase ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it…’ many times when we continue to tweak and tinker with many different things. Well, I believe MOTIV either did not hear these words in the same sentence before or choose to ignore it. In either event, with the amount of success that has been seen with the Venom Shock, who would have predicted a follow up on the Venom line? Enter the Venom Panic, one of the few times the word ‘Panic’ will result in continued success and positive vibes. The Venom Panic presents us with an aspect of cover stock that has not been seen within the Venom line and has been missed since the release of the Shock. Although the Venom Shock has been one of the most versatile balls I have thrown; is still a Solid cover. With a Solid cover, eventually it will reach an oil pattern, broken down or fresh, the ball will burn up down lane and just will not snap out corners. The need for a ball that can get down lane and retain its energy for those broken down and short patterns became clear. MOTIV has been listening and has seen it for themselves, bringing to life a pearl cover stock wrapped around the proven Gear core. The Turmoil MFP Pearl Reactive cover provides us with additional length and more angular motion that what has been seen from the Venom Shock. The irony of this particular ball is that some tend to ‘panic’ with a Lengthy, angular ball reaction as they can be rather jumpy and an over/under reaction is seen, but the panic actually provides the exact opposite. Despite the length and the angular motion down lane, the Venom Panic offers a much smoother transition as the ball responses to the friction down lane. The first night I had unleashed this ball on the lanes at my league night, it was clear from the first shot what the ball was capable of. Now, for those of you who have reviewed my posts in the past know that I bowl in 2nd shift leagues all season long. So I’m normally bowling on a broken down house shots about 85-90% of the time. Although I have been successful with my Venom Shocks multiple times on these conditions, there are just nights that they refuse to knock all 10 pins down in one shot for the very reasons explained above. The Panic on the other hand, I may have mentioned this before, but my two teammates are both Storm/Roto-Grip fans, let’s just say, although they will deny it, there was surprise in their faces and were impressed at what I was able to accomplish with the Venom Panic. Within a month of punching up my Venom Panic, I thrown 300 the 3rd game of my set after switching to this ball without a single test shot in the previous 2 games. This ball is as advertised my friends, the length was able to allow me to actually play more up the boards as I was able to get the ball down lane much easier without over powering my shot. Although it has a very fast response to friction, it’s difficult to truly describe the way this ball transitions, there an evident angle seen when the ball flips but more of an arcing response rather than actually sharp angle that is seen in most skid\flip reactions. Ball Reaction The MOTIV Venom Panic is very clean through the fronts with a quick reaction to friction down lane. This is my favorite Motiv bowling ball and versatile of all. Out of box you can expect a generous amount of length with smooth roll over transition down lane. My Panic has that roll-hook-stop motion to it, very ideal for me when I want to play straighter. The power of the carry is enormous and great controllability. I got games from 232 to 248 in every game I trow last month with this ball. For me is the best option as a cranker player to play straighter. I recommend the Venom Panic to all different styles and typed of bowlers. Get motivated.

Rev Rate:420 Axis Tilt:20 Axis Rotation: 45 Ball Speed:17 PAP Measurements: 4 1/8 Description: Motiv took poisoning to the 4th power, added some initial fear and created the Venom Panic! The Panic is the first poison ball to have a peal cover wrapped around it and the 4th to feature the gear core. The cover surrounding the gear core is the Turmoil MFP (Medium Friction Pearl) coverstock. Out of box surface:5000 Grit LSS Layout: https://instagram.com/p/1Nv12YIE10/ Ball Reaction My favorite of all the poison weapons and is easily the most versatile of the four. At 5000 out of box you can expect a generous amount of length, but you can also expect a smooth roll over transition down lane. It is the smoothest poison ball to date and I must say the color is eye catching as well. A common trait that poison balls do share is that they don’t hook through the pocket, they all have that go through the deck force. My Panic has that roll-hook-stop motion to it, very ideal for me when I want to play straighter. A perfect fit underneath the Forza. Comparisons Revolt Vengeance: RV reads the lane a lot quicker than the Panic and has a bigger shape downs lane, in terms for overall hook the nod goes to RV. Venom Shock: The Panic has a quicker response time to the friction due to the pearl cover, whereas the Shock would lose momentum in the friction for me the Panic didn’t. In terms of cover strength the Shock is bigger than the Panic. In the heavy oil I had to play straighter with the Panic as I did not change the surface on it and I relied more on myself than the ball to get it to finish where I wanted it to, the Shock out shines the Panic in the oil. In terms of overall hook I would call it a tie, backend wise the Panic has more in my opinion. Forza: The Forza has a slower response to friction than the Panic, both of them are rather smooth but I give the nod to the Panic. The Forza will give you more hook but he Panic will give you more backend. If you need a ball to fit under the Forza go with the Panic. You won’t be disappointed. Tribal Fire: The Tribal Fire is cleaner than the Panic but has less hook potential. Depending on the level of friction I encounter would determine which one I use. In terms of hook the Panic has more. Apex Ascent: The Apex has a more angular shape to it than the Panic, providing that skid flip reaction whereas the panic is more of skid roll. The Panic has more overall hook potential. Summary As I stated earlier the Panic is my favorite poison ball, it has all the qualities that I could want out of a mid-level ball. I believe in anyone bag it can serve as the first ball out or as a benchmark. I used it on the shark pattern 2 weeks back and I was impressed with the results, as I mentioned earlier in the heavy oil I had to square up my shot but I also took the ball out of its comfort zone. Using it on the viper/chameleon pattern it felt more at home. Using a ball for its intended condition is always a positive but I love experimentations because they are necessary. The control is just as impressive as the color as it goes down the lane. Motiv continues to serve up great equipment to the masses and will continue to do so, I promise you this ball is worth your time. There is no need to Panic. Unless you don’t have one. Don’t be a victim of a Panic Attack. K.C.White II Motiv Staff

This ball is the newest introduction into the Venom line of bowling balls. The MOTIV Venom Panic features a new pearl coverstock combined with the Gear core. It's super clean through the front of the lane, very strong off the spot and all the backends you will be looking for. It will be a great fit in your bag on light to medium oil. My Panic is laid out with the pin above the ring finger, a slight shift and no hole. It is clean through the front part of the lane, makes a strong move and is very continuous through the pins. This ball is going to get A LOT of play for me on light to medium oil. Craig Auerbach MOTIV Staff Member Florida

Engineered for light to medium oil, the Venom Panic is the first pearl ball ever released in the Venom series. This coral snake gets down the lane easily and strikes with a deadly response to friction. The Gear™ core in the Venom Series has proven to be an incredible core design and has been utilized once again in the Venom Panic. The Gear core has a lower RG for easy revs and a lower differential to retain energy for outstanding continuation. The new Turmoil™ MFP (Medium Friction Pearl) Pearl Reactive cover stock is engineered to provide more length than the Venom Shock and a more angular backend motion. The Coral pearl shell is tuned at the factory with a 5000 Grit LSP finish. This compliments the performance target of the new Turmoil MFP cover. It simply gets through the pins the right way on light to medium oil shots. Review: WOW. This ball has become one of my favorite balls I have EVER thrown from MOTIV. The New MOTIV Venom Panic is really amazing in alot of ways! I drilled mine with my favorite layout (65 x 4.5 x 40) and I am very impressed! The MOTIV Venom Panic is very clean through the fronts with a quick reaction to friction downlane. The ball is killer when I am able to play the deep inside part of the lane. The ball seriously recovers from anywhere on the lane and just continues through the pins with rediculous pin carry. My last two months in league I have not put this ball down. I go 722 722 735 779 776 814 704 and 719. This ball takes the Venom line to another level and is a great ball down from the shock. The shock is great inside but would eventually struggle with recovery and pin carry at a certain point. The Venom Panic has been striking for me anywhere on the lane. I plan on drilling another as well as stocking some up in my closet for the future. Ball is TOO GOOD. Must have in my opinion!!! Get MOTIVated!!! The new Venom Panic New release by MOTIV A very nice piece and fit into the MOTIV line contains the popular and proven low rg gear core that is wrapped around the new turmoil MFP pearl cover stock. When compared to the venom shock, which is one of my favorite balls in the line, it is very smooth which is what I like see. It reads the mids very well and is just a continuous beast. Not snappy and very controllable. The venom panic on the THS is a bit smoother thru the front part of the lane but it spins up a bit quicker off the spot than the venom shock. If the shock is not going through the pins correctly the panic is a quick fix to get out those pesky corner pIns. It works especially well when you have to chase the oil in and get more angle on the pIns. MOTIV never ceases to amaze me with the great equipment they continues to produce and how well each release fits in the current product line. If you want control and continuous motion the new venom panic is a great addition. Put this one in your bag, you won't regret it. Herman Ferguson MOTIV staff Gil's pro shop

Review: The Venom Panic by Motiv Bowling is the latest release and the newest addition to the Venom line. The Venom is the first pearl out of the Venom line and this light to medium oil bowling ball is a monster to say the least. The Venom Panic brings together the highly successful Gear core. The Gear core has a lower RG so it can revs a lot more easier and combine that with a lower differential so it can retain energy downlane and provide strong continuation through the pins. With the Gear core, Motiv introduce the new Turmoil MFP (Medium Friction Pearl) Pearl Reactive cover stock. This new pearl cover provides a little more length and more of an angular backend motion than the Venom Shock. Inner Core - Gear Coverstock - Turmoil MFP Reactive Finish - 5000 Grit Laser Scan Polished Comments: The Venom shock was a benchmark ball for me and still is. It’s usually the first ball out of my bag on most nights either bowling in league or tournament because it will show how the lanes are playing today and what I need use in order to succeed. Now the Venom Panic is something I’ve been dying to have in my bag. I wanted something that has a smooth motion but has length and angular backend motion and the Venom Panic is that piece for me. I can actually start more right with the Panic then the Shock, which for me is always nice. And the Panic is great bowling ball that retains its energy so well the transition does not have to be such a headache sometimes. All types of bowlers will love the Venom Panic because it’s so smooth in transition and retains its energy stronger than most pieces out there. Likes: Smooth transition and ball motion; incredible length; strong, angular backend motion and continuation. Dislikes: None. I recommend the Venom Panic to all different styles and typed of bowlers. I drilled the new Venom Panic just like i drill all my symmetrical balls (65 x 4 1/2 x 35). I love this layout because it gives me plenty of flare without sacrificing down-lane hook for my style. This ball fits right between Venom Shock and Tribal Fire. It features the same low-rg, low-diff Gear core from the previous Venoms, but with a more responsive polished cover stock. Comparing the new Panic to my Venom Shock, I saw a cleaner path in the fronts and midlane with the Panic, and more entry angle. The Shock handles slightly more volume, but when the lanes breakdown and I need to open my angles, the Panic is definitely the way to go. On fresh patterns, my adjustment is 3 boards right with my feet and 2 boards right with my target with the new Panic compared to my Venom Shock.

3.5” pin, 2.9 top weight 40 x 4.5 x 45 (P1 Hole) Bowler Stats: Rev Rate – 425 Ball Speed – 17 mph (down-lane) PAP – 3 ½ over, ¾ up Right-handed Test Environment: 35’ WTBA Beijing (synthetic surface) Review: I tested my Venom Panic against the Venom Shock and Tribal. With this testing done on a shorter pattern, the Venom Panic did exactly what I anticipated. I have found a home for the Venom Panic when the Venom Shock is a bit too soon and too angular, and when the Tribal doesn’t quite make it back to the pocket. I found more success when the pattern began to blend out, and quickly began to open up on the lanes. The backend control is predictable and controllable. Summary: Everyone that fell in love with the Venom Shock, everyone will love the Venom Panic and then some. These two are an amazing combination, even the color scheme is something enjoy. There is nothing not too like about the Venom Panic as it goes down the lanes. I’ve stopped counting how times I think Motiv is winning with each bowling ball, this is a winning streak I know that won’t end.

Layout: 70 x 4 ½ x 35 When the lanes start to dry out and your aggressive equipment starts to hook too soon don’t let the pins think that they are safe; instead make them have a Panic attack! The new MOTIV Venom Panic is a great new addition to the Venom family as the first pearl in the line. The proven Gear core (2.48RG, .034 Diff) helps drive the all new Turmoil MFP Reactive shell (finished at 5000 LSP) down the lane and through the pins with power. I laid mine out to give me a ball to switch to when my Sting and Forza started to hook too soon and wouldn’t quite turn the corner how I needed it to. The Panic glides through the heads easily thanks to the pearl shell, but still has the same great midlane read, albeit towards the end of the mids, that accompanies the Gear core. I get a motion at the breakpoint that is very strong but not snappy or uncontrollable. Once to the pins this ball drives through the deck with ease; I frequently flirt with leaving 9-pins because this ball just wants to keep continuing. So far I have found the Panic to be at home on the burn, roughly game three on a 4/5 man team or games 4-6 at tournaments where there are only 2-3 people per lane. Overall I believe this ball is a great compliment to the proven Venom line, and the MOTIV line up as a whole, for the medium-light oil range. As a bonus, the Coral coloring really pops on the ball rack and lane, too. Trent Overbey In the Zone Pro Shop MOTIV Staff www.motivbowling.com

I'm very pleased with the Venom Panic. It is a welcome addition to my arsenal. I am quite fond of the Venom Shock as well as many others. The Panic for me is the same ball motion but a little cleaner and a touch stronger down lane. It works great for me on the local house shots as we tend to see a lot of high friction surfaces with extreme wet/dry. I can play right up against the oil line or I can get in the puddle and swing to the friction down lane. I can use the Panic on the fresh quite a bit provided there is ample friction. Even though it's a "pearl" cover don't associate that with weaker. It has plenty of horse power. My progression is either start with the Shock and get into the Panic after a couple of games or start with the Panic and ball down to the Tribal Fire. I find that the Shock and Fire are great complements for the Panic. It's just a matter of when and how you want to use them. In my opinion the Venom balls cover such a broad range of conditions and they are the staples in my arsenal. I feel that the Panic is a very good choice for anyone seeking that controllable, versatile ball motion without sacrificing length and continuation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9QqjqAqZTA&feature=youtu.be

Venom Panic, not much more to say. With the proven Gear core and all new Turmoil MFP (medium friction pearl) coverstock, the Panic is already a winner for me. The Venom Panic is cleaner through the front with a little faster response to friction in the back of a pattern. The Venom Shock is sooner and just a little slower in response to friction. The Venom Shock is by far my all time favorite ball ever. I drilled my Panic the same as my favorite Shock, 60X5X30, which I ended up shooting 800 3 consecutive weeks in league with. This particular layout is my benchmark layout that I like to use on pretty much everything. I have only used the Panic in league for the past couple weeks and it allows me to play a little straighter compare to my Shock. Being a senior player, straighter is easier. I will be using the Panic in some upcoming PBA regionals and i will be updating the review.

The latest in the Venom series, the Panic pairs the reliable low RG Gear core with a new medium strength Pearl Cover. The Panic gets through the heads a bit cleaner than the Venom Shock, but still has that trademark smooth transition through the hook phase. The best way I can think to describe it is that the Panic tumbles forward through the pin-deck, keeping the pins low. For some bowlers, this type of motion on the back end can look a bit unusual to the eye at first. A real sharp angular snap can be real pretty to look at, but many times that’s not what’s going to yield you the highest scores. When the Panic moves on the back end, it has a slightly flatter trajectory, which can significantly improve my carry percentage when I’m playing in the track area to the 4th arrow. Here is a video I made that compares the Venom Panic to the Venom Shock, Jackal, Forza, Revolt Vengeance and Ascent on Kegel’s Bourbon Street Pattern. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJofPPItLGg When building even a small tournament or league arsenal, you NEED to have a low RG, med/low differential piece in your bag. I can’t over emphasize the importance of having a variety of hook shapes available to you - so you’re always splitting the 8-9 through to the pit. I tend to gravitate towards pearl covers, so the Panic is a perfect choice to fill the role for me. --Kevin Gallagher— PBA Member MOTIV Staff

Ball Specs: Motiv Venom Panic Medium Friction Pearl 5000 LSP Polished Pearl Reactive Ball Specs: Symmetric Core Layout 70 x 4.5 x 30 Bowler Specs: Right Hand. PAP 5 Over 1/2 up Rev Rate 250. Tilt 20. Rotation 50. Speed 16.5 Review: The New Motiv Venom Panic is another Great ball by Motiv. The Panic LSP clears the front of the lane with ease, saving a strong but predicable move for the back end. This ball has great carry and explosive hit. I think the box factory finish polish does exactly what it was designed to do, and I don’t see a reason to adjust this ball. Just keep it clean. This is a great ball to go to when the Shock is too strong. I have always been a fan of the Gear core and it was a perfect match for this cover. The Venom Panic drives through the pins with great continuation. The way the Panic reads friction is strong but predictable. The Panic fits just under my Shock but above the Apex. I don’t usually post scores on my reviews, but with just 6 games in league with this ball I have averaged 244.5. That should be a testimony to the carry percent of this ball. Higher rev players or people who want to square up or bowl on medium to dry will love this ball. I have not tested this ball on a lot of patterns but for our house shot when I want to go a little straighter, or when bowling on dryer conditions this ball is a must have. The color of the Panic I got was a burnt orange with pink undertones. It will definitely get noticed on the lanes and on the shelf and even the manly men here really like the color. Motiv calls the color Coral. The Black logo is perfect on this ball. This is another Motiv that preforms better than its price point. Summary: The Venom Panic is a piece Motiv needed in the line. The Pearl cover on the Gear core is a great match. A great ball when the Shock is too strong. The Panic is a great ball at a great price. Venom PANIC Panic ? Who me? ….NEVER. The new Venom panic is the first pearlized release in the Venom family! This baby gets down the lane and provides a strong angular motion on the back with incredible continuation. Whether you are a a stroker who likes to play up the board, a tweener who likes to belly it a bit or a cranker who likes to belly it a lot this ball fits all! If your up the boards its smooth motion through the front allows it to get down the lane and still recover with vicious motion off the friction. If your that tweener like me who likes to belly it a bit you can still get in deeper with it and she will make that strong angual turn off the back we so love to see! And for you crankers….oh you crankers. This baby is it! Because its made for light to medium oil condition. Its length allows you to get through the front and its back end motion is strong but not too jumpy so its leaves you in total control….Panic !!! Sure that’s exactly what your opponents will be doing! Description:The Venom Panic is the 4thinstallment in the Venom series and again placed in the lower mid-price range. It is the first Venom to feature a pearl coverstock around the Gear Core. It has the NEW Turmoil MFP (Medium Friction Pearl) coverstock. Reaction:The Venom Shock is one of my favorite balls EVER drilled. In fact I only brought 4 balls to Reno last year for USBC’s and 2 of them were Venom Shocks (In addition to a Covert Revolt and Artic Sniper). With that being said to be able to have a cleaner and faster responding version is nothing short of amazing. The Venom Panic hasn’t disappointed me…even with lower RG Gear Core it doesn’t seem to lack length but,it picks up in just the right spot to create great entry angle when the Venom Shock is too shallow. The Venom Panic has great continuation as well as that great carry that the Venom Shock is known for. My pin-up Venom Panic (40X5X45) provides just the right amount of length with a very strong motion down lane. My pin-down Venom Panic (70X4X60) provides a more even shape showing more strength sooner than later. Comparisons:It’s very clear in the differences between the Venom Shock and Venom Panic. The Venom Shock clearly starts up sooner and doesn’t respond as fast to friction, I think it’s only stronger due to the difference in surface. The Tribal Fire is definitely cleaner throughout the lane with less overall hook potential. Last, the Revolt Vengeance reads the lane sooner with a more gradual shape down lane, giving it more hook potential. I also did a quick surface adjustment to the pin down Venom Panic, it was noticeably earlier and smoother as well as pushed me on top of the Venom Shock line. I did feel that it took away from the intended purpose and for me will best suited at the box surface. YouTube Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6soiCfTfHtg Summary: It’s really unbelievable the quality of product and the hook potential MOTIV continues to put out with the price point on this line of balls. With that being said, I think this will be making the bag for USBC’s this year in Reno. Mike Magolan MOTIV/Turbo/Boom Apparel Staff Member
