The Venom Recoil features the Coercion MFS Reactive cover stock along with the new Gear APG core. At 15lbs it has a 2.47 RG, .036 Max Diff., and .013 Int. Diff. This ball was is a very versatile ball on all patterns and for all bowlers. You can shape this ball very easy and it gives you the forgiveness to get back to the pocket. It drives through the pocket every time. This ball is very special and has become the first ball out of the bag no matter the bowling center or the type of shot being put down. I have witnessed multiple bowling styles throw this ball and all have shown the ability to create area and forgiveness and still make it back to the pocket with ease. The Venom Recoil is the first asymmetric Venom ever released by MOTIV and it has the new Gear APG weight block. This asymmetric weight block will give drillers more layout versatility with no balance-hole. The original Venom Shock is known for providing amazing performance at a very affordable cost and the new Venom Recoil will be the same. I see myself using this ball when the Shock is a little too early and I need something that will go just a little longer with a strong backend motion. MOTIV Staff Tyler Lewis

As the bowling industry inches closer to the new rules set down by USBC regarding the elimination of weight/balance holes, the manufacturers now find themselves adjusting their way of thinking in ball design for their customers. New approaches to ball strength and versatility are to be considered. MOTIV has decided to begin embracing these new avenues. The Venom line has always been a source of outstanding performance, versatility and very friendly to the wallet. The new Venom is being taken to the next level with the introduction of the Venom Recoil. The Recoil is the first of its kind as MOTIV has incorporated a new asymmetric core in the Gear APG weight block. You read that right! We now have an asymmetrical Venom on our hands folks and it won't break the bank! This Recoil is absolutely something unique and special. As mentioning previously, the Venom line has always been known for its versatility on the lanes. The Recoil takes it to a whole new level with an asymmetric core as its engine. In addition to this core, we have the Coercion MFS as its cover stock, which we have seen on the Villain. This combination will give its user the versatility of a solid benchmark piece but have the same edge and power of your higher-performance pieces out there. The first word that comes to mind after my personal use of the Recoil would be 'Unique'. I have always been a fan of the Venom line, specifically MOTIV's legendary Venom Shock. The Shock always had a spot reserved in my tournament bag because of its adaptability to almost any pattern I was bowling on. The only issue I saw with the Shock would come when the ball would become a bit too angular down lane and difficult to control without sacrificing pin carry in the process. I see similarities between the Shock and the Recoil in their adaptability. What sets the Recoil apart is the smoother ball motion and ability to blend out patterns with ease. The second thing that sets this one apart comes from the asymmetrical Gear APG core. The asymmetrical core gives the Recoil more power behind it, which provides a stronger continuation through the pins that tend to be lost with benchmark pieces as your angles change. I would highly recommend a Recoil and Shock pairing in any MOTIV fan's bag as they are perfect complements of one another. Ball Specs: Motiv Venom Recoil Medium Friction Solid 4000 LSS Reactive Ball Specs: Symmetric Core Layout 40 x 4 x 35 Bowler Specs: Right Hand. PAP 5 Over 1/2 up Rev Rate 275. Tilt 20. Rotation 50. Speed 18 Review: The New Motiv Venom Recoil is a great addition to the line. Motiv has got ahead of the new balance hole rules by putting an Asymmetric core into the Venom line. I think we will see more Asymmetric balls by all brands in the future and I am glad Motiv is one of the brands out front on this. I have always done well with the Venom Shock but I believe I like the Recoil more. These are strong words from a Motiv Shock fan. The Recoil is stronger than the Shock for me, and has a much stronger back end motion. I was able to belly the Recoil out more than the Shock and did not fear recovery or hit. I compared both balls with the same surface and the layouts where very close. The shock has a balance hole, The Recoil does not. The Recoil seems to drive through the pins harder for me also. I think the box factory finis does exactly what it was designed to do. It looked rougher than 4000 to me though. The Recoil does take surface changes well if needed. The Recoil is a great piece to pull out if the Shock is not quite getting there. I think the new core is a perfect match for this cover. The Recoil fits between my Shock and my Forge in hook. The Motiv Venom Recoil works very well for various styles on medium or medium heavy conditions. It is a killer on a slightly wet house shot. The color of the Recoil is great. Very reminiscent of the Panic which was also a great ball by Motiv. It will definitely get noticed as well as the great price for an Asymmetric ball making it a very nice value. Summary: The Venom Recoil is a stronger version of the Shock. The Recoil is driller friendly regarding the new rules. This is a great ball when the Shock is lying off. The Recoil is a great looking ball at a value price. Glenn Wendel PBA Member Motiv Staff Turbo Staff gwendel@comcast.net www.motivbowling.com Video Link: https://youtu.be/KzHi5ZuDC04

The Venom Recoil features the all new Gear APG core and is the first asymmetric ball in the Venom line! It comes wrapped in the Coercion MFS Reactive coverstock that is also found on the Villain and T10, two balls that are a must in my bag. I drilled the Recoil with the same layout as my OG Shock, pin under ring. I was looking for the Recoil to read the lanes and give me a smoother reaction off the spot. My first practice session with this ball went very well. I threw the first 7 out the gate before leaving an 8 pin. The ball definitely reminds me of my T10, but allows me to get a little deeper. I compared it with my pin up T10 and I was about 4 & 2 left off my T10 line. The second session with the Recoil was during my film session where I compared it with the OG Shock and VSP. The lanes had a left over house shot from open play. Compared to the Recoil, I was about 2 & 2 right with my OG Shock, and about 4 & 2 right with my VSP. I definitely felt comfortable moving more left with the Recoil as it read the lanes well and was able to come back stronger on shots that went too far out. As with most of the Venom line, the Recoil will make an excellent benchmark ball that will help tell you what the lanes are giving you. Once it starts to lose energy, you can easily switch to a VSP and stay in the same general area. Adam Yoshii Motiv Bowling & Vise Insert Staffer Just Bowling Pro Shop

With the latest Venom release, we have the Venom Recoil. This is the first asymmetric release in the Venom line. With that, we now have a little stronger asymmetric core to battle those medium to light oil volume lanes. This allows me to open up my angles just a touch over the original Venom Shock with the exact same layout. I do not think that this ball is stronger than a shock by more than a board or 2, but the extra umph off of the spot is enough to chop those flat 10's that I get when the Shock has to use too much angle through the back part of the lane. I will note that with a slight surface tweak down to 2000 has allowed this ball to be a staple in my medium volume arsenal of both sport and house shots. Note- layout is 70*5*30 Motiv Staff Elliott Askey

Weight Block: Gear™ APG Cover Stock: Coercion™ MFS Reactive Finish: 4000 Grit LSS Length: 14 Backend: 17 Hook: 53 Flare Potential: 3+ Layout: 39 x 4 ½ x 29 "There are poisons that blind you, and poisons that open your eyes."- August Strindberg Venom Strike Venom Toxin Venom Shock Venom Panic Venom Cobra Venom Shock Pearl And introducing the 7th installment of venom weaponry Motiv Bowling presents the first Venom Asymmetrical the Venom Recoil. The Venom Recoil is the 3rd Venom that possesses a solid coverstock since the Venom Strike and the Venom Shock, Coercion MFS Reactive Coverstock is what is wrapped around it and its the same cover stock as on the Villain. The out of box finish comes at 4000 LSS finish. At the core of the Venom Recoil is where the audible it as it is the 1st Venom that is asymmetrical, the Asymmetric Performance Gain Core. Reaction: The reaction of the Venom Recoil is something I noticed instantly that separated itself from its predecessors, that being the swift movement it makes exiting the pattern. Venom Recoil will not only provide you with ample hook but I found it to be rather versatile on a variety of conditions save for the extremes of oil and friction, to an extent I was successful on heavier patterns by adjusting Coercion with a green scotch brite pad. However there are better options for heavier patterns such as Trident Abyss, Jackal Rising, and of course Golden Jackal. Using a white scotch brite pad on Venom Recoil you can take advantage of the friction by playing in it should you not want to bounce it off of it, this ball is reasonable benchmark ball in the small ball category. Comparisons: Venom Shock: Venom Shock has a smaller hook potential than Venom Recoil, using it on 3 different house shots I found it stronger by a couple boards. In terms of ball motion Venom Shock doesn't turn the corner as swiftly as Venom Recoil. Venom Shock Pearl: Venom Recoil is not as clean as its Hexion sibling Venom Shock Pearl and it isn't as angular, Venom Recoil does handle heavier patterns than Venom Shock Pearl however. Backend wise VSP will provide you with more overall. Summary: The 7th installment of the Venom line will provide you with a different shape that you haven't seen out of its predecessors, those that have both Venom Shock and Venom Shock Pearl will be pleased to have Venom Recoil round out the bench march position. I'm pleased with the hook potential overall as it provides me with the most I have ever gotten out of Venom weaponry, Motiv Bowling has yet again created another ball that does as advertised. The Venom Series has been in MOTIV's line for a while now, and for good reason. Bowlers like power and they like consistency, but most importantly they want a ball that's dependable. They want to know that you can pull out a ball whenever lanes get tricky or you just can't figure them out and find a way to strike. The Venom series has been extremely successful in giving bowlers all of these things, and for a very affordable price. The one thing, however, that we've never been able to get from the Venom series is an Asymmetric ball. All of the Venoms throughout the years have been Symmetric balls. Until now. The Venom Recoil takes the great Venom core and tweaks it a little to make it into an Asymmetric ball. This means that you get all the benefits of a high-end Asymmetric ball - it reads the pattern earlier and makes a more defined move to the pocket) but you still get that high-end type reaction in a midline ball. The Venom Recoil won't break your budget, and that's definitely a plus! If you want the value of a ball in the Venom series but just need a bit more hook or a little earlier reaction, or maybe just a littl emore kick to get those pesky 10-pins out, definitely consider this ball! Layout: 65 x 5 x 30 The battle-proven Venom line has been given an update to combat the new rules governing drillings, and its name is Recoil. MOTIV has modified the Gear core to give even more drilling versatility to it in this upcoming age where weight holes are no longer allowed. What was once symmetrical has now become asymmetric, sporting similar RG and Differential values (2.47RG, .036Diff) but adding an Intermediate Differential of .013. This tweak gives the Recoil added power at the breakpoint, giving an increased entry angle towards the pocket where the original Gear boasts a smoother transition. Pairing the Gear APG with the new Coercion MFS Reactive (4000 LSS) gives the versatility and feel of a Venom Shock while providing a bit more downlane punch for today's conditions. I laid mine out the same as my trusty Shock (which I drilled five years ago and still throw as often as possible on demanding conditions) to give me a feel for the difference, and I must say that I am stoked for this update. The overall hook and read through the mids is almost identical through the two balls, but the difference shines in the breakpoint. Where the Shock gives me a slower, heavier roll at the breakpoint the Recoil makes a quicker turn, giving it a greater ability to recover from deeper angles. I hit my Recoil with 2000 by hand out of the box expecting to need a little extra surface to get the ball going, and I was wrong. This piece is every bit a strong as the Shock, if not more so. I easily envision myself having matching Recoils and Shocks so that I can attack the lanes and transitions seamlessly between needing pure control and quicker recovery. Versatility is also a key factor in this ball in that I can drill and prep one to attack heavier volumes and another one to go longer and respond better on the burn. The Venom Recoil should be a staple of any arsenal for the modern rules/game. Trent Overbey In the Zone Pro Shop MOTIV Staff www.motivbowling.com

This ball is a motion most would not expect or believe from a ball at this price point. Completely undervalued/appreciated for performance it provides on fresh or burn. When my original Shock is just not creating enough entry angle to carry a ten pin, I can switch to the Recoil and know the 10 will disappear. A must have ball for any serious league/tournament bowler.

By Bryan Ramsey From Phillipsburg, NJ About Me Motiv Staff Member Insane Venom Series Addition Let me start out by staying if you are a venom series believer snag up one of these come 3/20/2019. I've thrown the whole venom series to this point, the OG venom shock and the VSP being the choices, that is until now. This recoil is a monster complement to the series, where the shock would pick up an earlier roll for me, this ball gets farther downlane with such great continuation through the pins it's insane. Adding the asymmetric core to a venom was such a great move by Motiv. Do yourself a favor and pick up at recoil, you won't regret the decision. Motiv keeps raising the bar in bowling technology with every release. #MOTIVBOWLING

The Venom Recoil is a real bang for its buck offering a ton of hook potential at its price point. I drilled mine 50x6x70 to help keep it smoother down lane and on the rolly side. Compared to my Shock it's a tad earlier. Even with a smoother layout it still has some pop down lane. For me It fits in between the Shock Solid and the Forge really well. If you really like the venom series you're not going to want to miss this one! With the new asymmetric weight block it brings a strong Controllable motion that will fit for almost every pattern Motiv Staffer: Sean Mackie

The new Venom Recoil is a great addition to the Venom line. The new gear asymmetrical core in this beast allows the ball to handle a little more volume then the original shock. This ball is clean through the heads and has a smooth, archy motion once it sees friction. The core allows the ball to maintain some of the angular traits that the original Shock had. The Recoil is a very versatile ball for league bowling where most shots have a lot of friction. At this price point it's a massive value that should be in every Motiv fans bag. I highly recommend this new weapon. Matt Rayner MOTIV Staff

Review: The new Venom Recoil is the newest release from MOTIV Bowling. The Venom line has stood the test of time and just keeps getting better and better. For the first time, MOTIV as design an asymmetrical core in the MOTIV line to coincide with the new rule changes that are coming from USBC to give ball drillers more versatility in drilling. The Venom Recoil brings the new Gear APG asymmetrical core and the Coercion MFS Reactive cover stock, The Recoil gives a similar shape and performance as the original Venom Shock. If you love the Shock, then the Recoil will be another wonderful piece in your bag. Weight Block Gear APG Cover Stock Coercion MFS Reactive Finish 4000 Grit LSS Comments: I got one word for the new Venom Recoil, WOW! Out of the box I shot a nice 825 in my Wednesday league and was just blown away with the performance of the new Recoil. The recoil gives me the same shape as the Shock, but I feel I can keep my angles straighter, especially when transition is starting to hook because from what I see it's just a tad slower off the spot then the shock so I don't have to give away the pocket. But I can also open up my angles was well, therefore the versatility of the Recoil is quite similar to the shock and its nice that when you need a nice asymmetrical bowling ball but you don't want to pay high performance price, the Recoil is yours to have. All styles will love the Recoil because as the similar shape to the Shock on any condition. I recommend the Venom Recoil for all types of bowlers.
