Lane #1 Uranium Pearl Buzzsaw Bowling Ball

(24 reviews) Write a Review
The new Uranium Buzzsaw features our new RadioActiveTM cover stock. This new material is clean thru the front and Atomic on the backend. We also changed our isotope in our patented diamond core, using the densest material allowed by the ABC. The super dense, center-heavy, Uranium Buzzsaw diamond core lowers the RG from 2.53 to 2.45, while raising the differential from a .028 to the midrange of .043. Combined with our new RadioActiveTM cover stock, this ball glides thru the drier fronts, while sticking to the lane in the oily middles. The Uranium Buzzsaw is the ball that does it all..!!

To be breif. Specs are 3-4" pin. 15# ball. Drilled aggressive for max hook (snap). Bowled my first 600 series with it. I have not bowled for all that long. This ball took me from a 150 average to almost a 200 average now. I LOVE THIS BALL. I use it in almost every house I bowl in now regardless of the conditions. You may want to be careful around extreme dry. Otherwise, it works everywhere for me. Durable, consistent, and a hook monster. I cannot belive that they are discontinuing this ball. It is being replaced by the Enriched Uranium. My only problem with this is that the EU has particle which I do not like. 02/07/06 update I am very disappointed that this product has been discontinued by lane #1. This is one of those products that if you buy several and drill them to specific conditions, you could have a formidable arsenal. I have noticed that mine has lost a little of that explosiveness when it hits. It does not clear the rack the way it did early on. I have s

This ball is excellent on medium to dry lanes, but goes a little too long in heavy oil but that is not what it is for!!! This ball hits so hard and has amazing carry!!! I love the color.... sure makes some attention going down the lane. I would recommend this ball for crankers, especially on medium-light oil. I got the ball drilled with the pin under the ring finger. I would not suggest using this on heavy oil , unless you are extremely accurate!!! It can be squirty and quite unpredictable!!!! I can get a much better ball for a lot cheaper!!!! It is just like those Elite hunks of junk, pay $300 for a $130 ball!!!!!

I played on drier lanes and on fresh oil. This ball will make the lanes wide open. On the fresh oil, it WILL NOT lose energy on its way to the pocket and keeps the pins flying. I used the ball on my last night on bowling and it gives me a lot to look for when I go to my tournements. It hits harder than my Infernos (I have them all). This ball may need a brother Uranium Solid for when there is heavy oil or another Uranium Buzzsaw with either a longer pin or a different drilling. THIS BALL IS THE STUFF!!!!!!

The ball is drilled pin below the ring and the CG kicked out to the right. The ball gets down the lane very well with a nice backend off the dry carrying just about any pocket hit. Dry: I was able to move way inside and keep the ball from rolling out. If you can get the ball to the pocket without the ball rolling out, it will carry everything. Medium: This is where the ball shines. I was able to play second and third arrow with a hard yet predictable move into the pocket demolishing everything Heavy: the balls movement was less abrubt and more of a smooth action, still carrying with good success, but I still would not recommend this ball for heavy oil.

I got this Ball Drilled 4 x 3 Pin Next to ring finger. I got to tell you this ball is very smooth and carry like a Lane 1. This ball compelement the peral very Nicely. I use this ball on 40 feet flate when the middle oil is dry up I can play the 8th board with ease and watch in homing back and raped the rack. This ball does need head oil to perfrom well. It Hook 5 board less than my Hammer real deal. I think becasue of the drilling. I will review that when I got about 20 to 30 games on it. Not much oil where I bowl.

An excelent ball for med - medheavy oil. Hits like a Mac Truck. You can play an inside line or when there's too much oil inside you can move right (or left) and play down and in. Right handed. Ball speed: 17 - 18mph. Revs: medium Ball weight: 15lbs Pin: 2 - 3" Side weight: 15/16oz. In box this ball was 15.4lbs (I think), 2 - 3" pin with 4.7oz TW. Pro shop did and excellent job drilling the ball. Do to the high polish finish of the ball I had it drilled to roll earlier than my others. Ball glides through the head well and when it gets to the back end takes off and WHAM, completely demolishes the pins.

A great escape and versatile ball with a variety of uses. The impact to the pins is awesome. This company's core, for one more time, creates the most predictable, controlable and very strong move in the backend. The combination such as Brunswick coverstock along with the patent diamond core from Lane#1, creates high proffessional results. As for every ball, you need to get an expert's drilling layout adopted to the player's style of play. Still driller friendly . Mine drilled with Pin above ring finger and CG slightly out to the right, no extra hole. After drilling specs: Pin - Cg: 2'' T.W: 2,8oz PAP: 4'' 7/8 over and 1/2 up (RH) Revs: Medium Speed: Medium

Got the ball drilled with the CG in my palm (which makes the ball feel lighter); it was supposed to be tamer and have an arced hook action but is still highly aggressive and the biggest hooking ball in my bag. works well on alot of different lines the ball plays best when swinging it from the second arrow out on a fresh house shot; when it finally comes back it hits like a tank. Recommend using a different ball for all spare shots because its highly aggressive and can be hard to contain on spare shots even on the right side of the lane. Overall its a great ball.

This ball is a great ball for standard lane conditions playing the outside. Hits really nice and carries a ton. Usually hits pretty flat when playing inside of the 2nd arrow. All around great ball for its intended use. Have a Super Carbide for inside lines, and this for the outsides. Do not dull the ball, results in a reaction that usually hits flat as well. Keep the ball clean and it will snap in the backends more than you can believe. If you enjoy this one, check out the gold buzzsaw as well. Both great balls, but this one gets the nod for better carry.

Great ball right out of the box, carries and moves the pins like none other. The more you swing it to the rignt (right handed) the harder it returnes to the pocket. And the layout is just label with pin at 1:30, the diamond shape core in conjunction with the cover stock is a great combination. Not a good down and in ball seems to loose something. But give it room and just stand back, here it comes. I would recommend this ball to anyone who likes to swing the ball, you can let it go out or tug it a little and it still finds the pocket.

Well this is my favorite ball.I don't really have any dis like.I always use 2 balls and no matter what i always bring this ball .It hooks great.Me and my father both got this ball and i think its his favorite too. I wouldn't give it up.With this ball i bowled my highest games.(257,243,232)I'm only 13 .I would say that isn't that bad.I had the ball sanded and polished. It worked better polished.I would reccomend this ball for people who can controll high hooking balls.I'm sure if u had it u would like it as well as me or maybe even more!

I bowl on many different shots and I really love Lane #1 bowling balls especially when there is oil. However, I have been somewhat frustrated with Lane #1 for the lack of a "dry lane" ball I have tried the XL, XXL, etc. from lane #1 but they just seemed to be a version of an existing oil ball polished or a ball that has a similar effect to a ball with 3oz top weight and bad entry angle. So you can imagine when I took my Uranium to the lanes on a dry shot and figured lets try another lane #1 dry ball and shot 279,278,268,238,299 in practice. Obviously I was very happy with the results this ball gave me. I am only a 215 average and I have been consistently shooting 680 - 790 in my various leagues that have a dry condition. Way to go lane #1 on a job well done!

Michael, Thanks for checking out our website, hope you've enjoyed it. Your question is why is the Uranium better, or what separates it from the rest of the pack? All of our Buzzsaw's are good, but we've taken our diamond core to it's highest level, by increasing it's weight to the maximum allowable by the ABC. This makes our Uranium core 37% heavier, thus more powerful than are already high powered patented diamond core. We're also using a RadioAcitve(Activator) coverstock, which is cleaner thru the front and stronger on the backend. Combining the strength of our high density Uranium core, with the super clean RadioActive coverstock, gives you the high powered, precision reaction that you're talking about. As far as longevity goes, it should be no different than a Brunswick ball. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us again anytime by e-mail or phone 1-800-Lane No.1 (526-3661). Thank you for choosing Lane #1. Sincerely, Lane #1 -----

It is an atomic Bomb! Ok Lane #1 your new Buzzsaw features this RadioActiveTM cover stock. Scuttlebutt says this is Brunswick’s Acti*** or cover over a hard as nails diamond core. This ball of mine was a pin 3-4 with 4oz of top. Us big boys aren’t afraid of top weight! Drilled this right off your sheet for a medium response I was looking for a strong finishing ball having loved the infernos with this cover I had to jump on this ball. It didn’t hurt me to bad to spend a little cash since Lane#1 helped sponsor our city tournament I always will spend with a company that treats the bowlers well. We are selling this ball for 189.00 in our shop I laid this out 1 inch to the right or right on the 1 and stacked (still bowling lefty) I left ¾ of an oz in side weight drilled a 4” deep x 1” round hoe for the weight hole on my axis 4 ¾ and ½ “ up in the factory finish the ball was a hook monster the amazing thing is the near misses that carry or send a messenger to clean the pin deck. I did

This is an email message I sent to Lane 1 and am waiting for a response. I set my 14 LB Uranium up with a full leverage layout which has proven to be most excellent on fresh patterns with good back ends, and second shift carry down. Heavy oil or burnt heads are this balls worst enemies as the energy will expend to quickly with no head oil, and slide to far on flatter heavy oil, but on most all house league patterns this ball is off the charts. Ball rolls absolutely fantastic with total control and very defined strong move off the higher friction areas, and the hit is ultra impressive. I don’t know how they did it, but in my opinion this is one of the best balls they have ever made. My question is about the new Uranium Buzzsaw. This ball is absolutely the best ball I have ever rolled, and I have used all your saws, but this one just out performs them all hands down. My question is why? What is it about the Uranium that separates itself from the pack, how is it able

I tried to tame this balls hook but it still hooks a ton, even with alot of oil. Very versatile, can play several different shots with it a carry them all. Nice hard flip but still predictable as well. Had to settle for a 15 pounder and was scepticle of the carry I would get but was pleasantly surprised after a few balls. Carries better than any other ball I have thrown. I am now a Lane 1 bowler for life. Well worth the money. Ring them up, knock em down. There truely is nothing like a lane 1 ball

I drilled this ball up for myself. I put the pin below my middle finger and the CG on my grip line. No weight hole needed. I have used this on several conditions. On our standard house shot, freshly oiled, I am able to swing the ball from 3rd arrow to the gutter and get the ball back without a problem . This ball corners like the old Purple X-Calibur did in its day. On a 32 foot flat sport pattern, this ball was too much ball for the condition. Bowlers that like skid/flip reactions will be in love with this ball. I didn't try taking the shine off the ball because I never liked pearl balls dull. I am sure that if I took a scote brite pad over the ball it would smooth out the reaction, but that would defeat the purpose of the ball. Any questions, please email me. Thanks, Bill BuddiesProShop.com

I had this ball drilled thumb leverage. I tried this ball on both house shots at our local lanes. One house is wood, the other is synthetic. In both cases, the ball was smooth off of my hand, but had such a "jumpy" flip that I found it hard to control. When I gave it room to move, it wouldn't always make the turn back. When I played tighter, I would get the occassional jump to the nose. I just haven't found the right combination of speed and release for this ball to be dependable. The big move on the back wouldn't be a problem if it were just a little more predictable for my taste. This is my first Buzzsaw bowling ball, and maybe it was a bad one to start with. Time will tell, but so far I am not impressed with this high priced ball.

Unfortunately, after quite a few games logged on this ball, I must in good conscience reduce its ratings. Even on medium oil, this ball will just NOT grip and flip. It continues to skid right by the pocket, unless you can find some dry lanes. You often end up with the dreaded solid 10 when it does make a mild turn. Really wish I could have been able to stick by my initial review (this ball certainly looks awesome)...but hey, we are trying to help each other out here, correct? No sense in you dropping a ton of money for this ball and then being disappointed.

This ball is a very good ball under the right circumstances. I have heard people complaining about lane 1 equipment, but maybe it isn't the ball, but the drilling or how it is being thrown, or the condition it is thrown on. It is only my opinion, but I have come to believe that alot of the younger generation don't have a clue on how to make adjustments. They only know how to make the ball turn hard, shoot in the middle and if that isn't there, then they change balls, make excuses, or just complain about the bowling equipment. Not necessarily a ball for everyone, be sure that this ball will fit your game before buying. I got mine at a special price, but realistically it is a bit pricey.<scri

15 lbs. 3-4" pin 3.2 oz topweight drilled 4X4 First, this ball is a real stunner to look at...inspires confidence. Just had this baby drilled up and following are my initial impressions after two 3 game sets. This ball does very well in light to medium oil. Looks for all the world like it will skid right by the pocket and, just when you've about given up on it, smashes hard left NOW. Really smokes the deck. In heavy oil, the turn is just a tad too late and light. You can compensate by backing off the speed a bit and let it read the oil for the same predictable, devastating results. Very impressed with this ball so far, and sure I will come to like it more and more as I continue to learn its nature.
