This is my 2nd Lane #1 Ball and to be honest, I don't see what the fuss is about. Don't get me wrong, this is a good ball, it's just not the ball Lane #1 claims it is. It does fill a void in my line-up between my down and in ball and my pearl so I will keep it in my arsenal. Lane #1 claims it to be the most overall hook they offer (110 out of 120 on their hook chart) But I have other stuff that blows it away. I was able to play a tight line around 15 to 10 with good carry but light hits left big splits most of the time. This ball will fit a strokers game to a "tee" but tweeners like me won't enjoy the lack of recovery this ball offers. Crankers should like the carry on flush hits but will pay dearly if they catch the head pin light.<s

Well, out of the box this ball is not the right thing for my bowling style. But after sanding by my pro-shopper to 400 grit with scotch brite it is the right stuff for me. Now the ball gives me the help I need at the breakpoint. Must try this one on heavy oily lanes, but in my area there is no center with oily conditions. This is my first Lane #1 Ball and I like it, be sure to buy another one. L A N E # 1 B U Z Z S A W C A R B I D E +

I ot this ball already drilled to have a "heavy oiler"... got it redrilled as it was drilled for max length with all about backend... and I don't like that... it just didn't work for me. So I had the ball redrilled "label" (12:30; no extra hole.. 4" pin)... the ball has few backend but great hit. It just needs to start early enough to make it to the pocketkt and that was the problem as the filling ended in a polishing and that ended in too much skiddin of the ball... don't get it wrong... it was great on the md condition I train on. But on the more heavy stuff it skidded too far so I dulled it... worked great. So if the ball start's too early for you... polish it. I guess a stacked drilling would be even better without dulling (which wears off with time..)

I took this ball with me when I went to the BR gathering in Winston-Salem NC. There were some tough conditions put out there and I was unable to get a good line with the ball. Rich (Pres of Lane 1) was at the gathering and I met him for the 1st time. He's a GREAT GUY but that's another topic. It was a few weeks after that meeting where I had a chance to use the ball locally. On the right condition (med to heavy) this ball is OUTSTANDING! I had the original CARBIDE/C that was my introduction to LANE 1 and this ball is just as they named it CARBIDE PLUS! The path to the pocket isn't a SNAP at the end but it is a little sharper then an ARC! As expected the ball has a large BANG when it hits the pins and when right .. there are few pins standing and rarely SPLITS or end pins. If you can be consistant in your line to the pocket this ball will deliver high scores. If you get a chance to get one .. don't pass it by! I'm NOT a LANE 1 FANATIC .. but this ball does the job! <scr
