Vicious Attack

(15 reviews) Write a Review
Vicious Attack does just what the name says, it performs a sneak attack on the pins. Although the entire Vicious family is known for their killer angle. Vicious Attack hooks more than any Vicious ball to date. With Power Whip reactive resin and an asymetric core design, you better make sure Vicious Attack is on your side.

Ball worked well for a while but seemed to loose hook after a while. Also noticed that it does not seem to react well on my league were I bowl on wood lanes. Put it on the spinner and aplied polish. Made a nice spare ball doing that. Back to the spinner and scuffed it up again. After a few sessions found that it has a nice roll with a dull polish 800 - 1000 A little disappointed with my first Hammer, but I guess it is not a true Hammer but more of a Ebonite knock off. 100 words 100 words 100 words 100 words 100 words 100 words 100 words 100 words 100 words 100 words 100 words 100 words 100 words 100 words 100 words

*******Pay attention!!! This ball is a reactive but it is a strong rolling ball. If you want it to explode like every other vicious ball, you have to drill it with a big kick or for a heavy label leverage, and put some polish on it.******* This ball is spectacular. I have nothing but good things to say about this ball, after a few mishits with some other oil balls. Hammer is truly seperating itself from the pack and the Vicious line is just amazing. I had the ball drilled with the pin under the ring finger and the CG kicked out about 1" with the mass bias near the thumb. This ball if not polished will roll like a sissy and the hook is rather pathetic. Polish it and it's a killer. I was swinging 12 to about 5 and the ball was roaring back in the heavy oil. It had a spectacular hit and had a beautiful arching hook, with still a great deal of recovery. It devastates the rack if you hit the pocket and carries just about every thing with spectacular pin action. Nothing hits or hoo

This ball was clearly the exact ball that I was looking for. I was speaking to a friend a mine because I was having a bit of trouble against those tougher sports shots with more oil and he recommended this ball. This ball reved up early in the lane and flipped hard in the backend. Very cosistent roll and is also quite forgivinvg. I have left up a significantly less amount of 7-pins (me being a lefty) because of the many messsengers I get to clear them out. Just keep one thing in mind when purchasing this ball, it was made for oil. When the lanes start breaking down, you may want to go to something polished or less aggresive. Other than that, great ball and definitely worth the money. You can expect more great things from the Hammer line like this in the future. Hats off to Hammer for making a strong come back in recent years.<scr

this is a good ball if you have got ideal lane conditions the more oil the better it tracks i used it on wood the first time and got nowhere with it then it seemed to perform much better on synth lanes with the same oil strange but ok hey if you play in oil it's great if you are in light stuff you'll be in the drains atleast that's what happened to me but it kills the pocket when you get it there it is a strike every time when the lanes are wet good luck people hope it works better for you<scrip

When I first got this ball I was skeptical because I have heard some good and bad reviews about the Attack. But when I it drilled and threw it for the first time i shot my high game of 253 and and my series of 668. I play from 13-15 board and throw i with a average speed of 16 mph. You usually have to play this ball around the 3rd arrow. This ball hits the pocket with so much energy that it shatters the pins. The rolls early so that it will hook in any amount of oil. However once the lanes start to dry up put the ball in the bag.

I recommend this ball to everyone who needs power and hook on their bowling game. What I like about this ball is that you can play inside while you have it "like new" polished. There are times that I put my polished Vivious Attack a little far out and will still hook toward the pocket with a strike or a pin left standing. I shot 547, 550, 518, and 558 with it while next year I'll shoot 600-700's with this ball. My ball came with an "out of the box" condition and decided to polish it up to build more length and backend to my game.Don't get this ball drilled too aggressive otherwise it will hook like an arc with an early reaction It's like it can't do what it needs to do to hook it you get it drilled wrong.

got this ball for about 2 weeks now, used it on my league last week on a flooded house shot in the box finish, didnt move when i threw it right of the 3 arrow. bowled with it the day after my league, same result. used it again today on my league, this time with a little black magic plus and this ball MOVED. throwing over the 2 arrow swinging the ball out the ball picked up the roll pattern very good for me and hit the hole like a truck. alot of pin scatter if you hit light, which for me resulted in alot of strikes that normally would have been multi-pin splits. this ball CAN be used on dry lanes as long as theres some head oil left. anyone who says this ball cant be used on dry lanes just doesnt know how to control the ball. the only thing i dont like about this ball is it really wont move if the lanes are flooded. this ball is good for medium to heavy oil and is pretty good on dry aswell. this ball would be good in any hammerheads arsenal.<

The Attack is the best Vicious to date, if you are playing alot of oil. If you read some of the negetive articles about this ball, it is usually coming from crankers. More than likely, the ball is finishing too early for those that may have misdrilled their balls. Remember, the drill pattern for this ball is strict. The Attack just kills the pins when it gets to the 1-3. High hits on the 2 will carry, too if I am playing down and in. The only time I hate picking up the ball is looking at the 10, but then, that isn't very often. The best combination may be to stack the Attack in my bag along side a Sling Blade and Diesel. Hammer quality balls are unmatched for hitting power and consistency. When the going gets tough, it's nice to know when I reach in my bag, I am pulling out a Hammer.

This is the first ball out of my bag right now when I go to tournements. I like how I can throw it and immediately jugde the condition of the lanes. I've plays every part of the lane with it and scored well. (Once I found where the lane was set up to allow scoring.) The only thing I don't trust this ball for is shooting spares. It's too agressive for that. If the lane has too much oil on it, the ball does not perform to my liking either but then I know to just put it up and take out a particle ball.

i bought my Vicious Attack 3 weeks ago and was dissappointed because the lanes where dry. after waiting a week i finally got to try the ball on freshly oiled lanes. This ball is extremely adaptible. On heavy oil i was able to play straight down ten board and it finished extremely well carrying almost everytime i hit pocket. More nine pins then corner pins so i was very pleased. As the lanes broke down to medium-heavy and medium i was able to swing the ball from 15 to 5 with a killer returning angle. This normally meant corner leaves for me. But the Vicious just kept coming back. It never died or lost carry. It is almost 95% strikes when hitting pocket for me. my first two series with this ball on heavy oil to medium oil where 697-707. A great addition to my Blade solid. The Attack has more backend then i expected but that was a welcomed surprise. The only thing negative that i can say about this ball is watch your speed. The Attack can be speed sensititive on medium oiled

I would recommend this ball for anyone that plays on heavy oil.........it will definitely come back for you. It carries the light hit exceptionally well, flush pocket hits devastate the rack without those annoying 8 pin or 9 pin taps. For some reason, it even carries the high hit "trip 4" very well too which kinda defies logic. When shooting the occasional 10 pin spares, just flatten it out, roll it over the 3rd arrow from 35 on the approach.....works like a charm. If you bowl on 2nd shift alot or dry lanes, you need to leave this one in the bag because you will have to muscle it to much and it will also hook way to early.

I got the Attack because I wanted a reactive ball with predictable performance and irresistible entry into the pocket. And that is precisely what I got. I was able to play a straight line throught the Christmas tree oil pattern over the third arrow with a great recovery, or swing it out to 1st arrow with an even arc and watch it do search and destroy with the pocket! I love it! Though speed-sensitive, I could move left or right and easily adjust to the shot, though swinging it out left 3 out 7 10-pins. All in all, I recommend this as a performance player's dream. I had it drilled for full leverage per the Hammer specs with a weight hole @ PAP. Remember, NOTHING hits like a Hammer! Update 02/05/04: 80 games later and it is still hooking stong! Just keep it clean after each use and it will continue to crush the pins and competition! NOTHING hits like a Hammer!!

this ball is great just make sure your ball speed is consistent or you will have problems. if the heads are dry id put the ball back in the bag or be ready for one helluva snap at the end. i thought my vicious particle hooked. but this one hooks a lot more. it just plain down attacks the pins. i love it when you hit light the pins just scatter. and no this is not a 10 pin ball. if this ball doesn't hook for you you shouldn't be even bowling. if you want it to go longer go ahead and polish the ball up.

This ball did not do crap for me and i sanded the ball 4 times before i threw the ball. this ball dissapointed me very much.. this is the one and only hammer i shall hate. anywho go by the turbo diesel or the sling balde any thing is better than this ball i hate it and im gonna put it on ebay for like 30 $ ..oh yeah and i still drilled it to hook..perfect ball for a boomer or a cranker cause they should be able to hook this ball..but for the strokers this ball sucks. but i will have to try it at like sattelite beach (DRY LANES)

I drilled this ball as soon as it arrived. I laid the ball out with the Pin 4 1/4", the CG 3 3/8", and the LMB 4 1/4". I tried this ball on a variety of shots from light oil to heavy oil. On the Medium-Light Oil, I was able to swing the ball from 15 to 5 at about 45 feet and the ball would turn the corner and explode the pocket. On Medium-Heavy oil, I was able to go more direct and play a lot less of swing. With the layout that this ball has, the ball reved up early for me and made a smooth arcing motioin to the pocket. If you have any questions please email me.
