got this ball 3 years ago still use it today. i bought this ball used and kept the drilling the same because it was about the same span. have vaccume grips in it and i can hit the head pin light and carry just about anything. though when the lanes get dry or are dry this ball likes to hook alot. this ball is very versatile. i bowl on regular house shot and my highest series with the bowl this year is 701. this ball is great for beginner bowlers or the more advanced bowlers. consult your local pro shop for drilling sudjestions and details. ........

i got this last year as my first 14lb ball and now im up to 15. when i got it i wasnt as strong so i had to polish it a bit to get it down the lane and it left a lot of 7 pins(left handed). rite now with this ball on a house shot in standing about 25-27 and throwing at about third arrow and drifting out to second arrow to catch the dry so it will take off to the pocket. this ball is a couple years old and its still hooking almos like new. im thinking about replacing it with a hawg wild just because its only 14lbs.

I took this barely used ball out of my bag for a couple of reasons. As most of you know I can be brutally honest and this often makes someone mad or hurt however business is business. I have the same problem most proshop owners do, which is a slump is not acceptable since are supposed to be knowledgeable. We should know what ball would cure the latest troubles the house has and we should be doing it before everyone else. Reason one every cure I tried was failing my scores were tumbling my x-factor and duce were leaving odd leaves and were uncontrollable. Reason two after chatting with a local pro Warren Nelson. I felt I should try to throw a different ball. I grabbed up all of my hammers and set out to rediscover what they could do and if the slump was my equipment or just me. I scheduled a few practice sessions with my doubles partner and future PBA member Chris Hatter. Chris pointed out I was using either low load particles or particles for the most part and suggested a reactive cov

I have never had a ball carry like this ball does. I have carried so many, and I do mean many, shots from messengers that I feel like I am cheating! No kidding. Everytime I have try the "Ball of the Month" I always come back to this ball. In the beginning I did have a little trouble when I first started throwing this ball because it hooked too hard right at the end for me. But after adjusting 3-4 boards where I stand and throwing the same mark I started scoring like I never scored before. Sounds corny but it is true! Once I started using this as my first ball out of the bag my average increased considerably. At one point I strung 28 consecutive 200 games and raised my avg from 204 (after 33 games) to 215. I honestly believe I would have reached 220 this year but I kept trying other balls! Yes, I do try other balls but have regretted everytime and always come back to my Vicious. Anyways I rolled my first (and my house's only) 800 series rolling 269-279-269 with this ball.

Ok any body who needs to buy a ball, this will be a good choice. In all the years this is the best hammer ball in my opinion. I came in my league and avr:172. Then with this ball I went to 182, so as you can see it jumped up. I am a stroker and throw 16-17 ball speed, medium revs on med to heavy oil with hooking backends. All I can say is hit the deck because a bomb is going off.On really heavy oil you have to play 15 board straight up or get it out to dry { if you are a cranker you will be fine } Well I had the ball for 4 months and about 150-200 games and it is still like new. REV IT UP AND WATCH IT TURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I drilled the ball with PIN 5"1/2 from PAP and CG 2"1/2 from PAP with a little balance hole exactly in the PAP. It's 16Lbs 0onz, Pin 3" and Top Weight: 3 Well I have this ball since yesterday and I love this ball, if you have a little error the ball forgive your error and strike. The hitting is too hard, I had a scout pin, I think it was the #1 pin, hit in left block, then fly to the right block and return to the left block or wall, Awesome!!!!! I think it skid a little for me, but dulling the ball I think it would be great. Yesterday I tried this ball for first time, I played 3 lanes and I shot 690. I recommend this ball absolutely.

Tested by friend at our local proshop last night. His slower ball speed could not get this ball to swing out to 5 at all. As soon as this ball would sniff the drier boards coming, it would start making its huge move back towards the hole. After two games, we decided to polish it up more with 2000, then 3000 grit paper which did give us a little more length but created a huge skid/snap type of reaction and continued to nose-dive at about 50 feet mark having an almost roll-out sort of look. We think you would be well suited for this ball if you had higher ball speeds and more of an "up the back" type of release. We may plug and drill it up to fit my hand to see if more ball speed would do it justice. For the record, this ball hits like a tank and carries crossovers EVERYTIME!

The Hammer Vicious is one of the best bowling balls on the market today. It can be used on a wide variety of lane conditions by bowlers with various styles. The ball does not track-out too early and has incredible power at the pins. The only downside to this ball is that it does like oil, and will tend to be rather ineffective on these patterns. If you are interested in a heavy oil ball continue your search, but otherwise I would definitely recommend this ball to any bowler who wants a high preformance ball at a reasonable price. Hammer is back!!!!!

This ball was a gift from the house I work part time in and is a very good addition to my bag. I had this drilled with a very aggressive leverage drilling almost identical to my EZ-Money. This ball hooks very well on the backends and hits even better. I tend to use a lot of speed and stay in the middle of the lane where I can catch the most oil on the house shot I bowl on and this is a good ball to have when the particle balls hook to much. The reaction I get is much like the EZ-Money, just less. It gets down the lane very well and gets into the backend, grabs and goes. It is very easy to control and even easier to predict. When I miss left (left handed), it stays left and if I tug it inside my target, then it goes right. If you make the mistake, this ball will go where the mistake sends it. I have a little wiggle room, but not a lot. It is very nice to have this next to a particle ball as another option. Have not had the cracking problem I am seeing a lot of people talking a

The first time i bowled with my vicious was on heayv oil/ Syntetic lanes...the first 2 rounds i had i bit to much ball-speed and left the 2-8-10 pins 4 times. When i finally got my pressure down and the ballspeed a bit lower the Vicious was doing really fine... This ball is a very good "allround" ball...you can play it in medium to heavy oil, in heavy oil my vicios seems to be a bit sensitive for high speed. The ball hooks really much and the way i drilled mine the backend is very strong. Im a columbia-fan and this is my first Hammer so i have to give (her) some time to now me : )' <sc

Great high performance ball, Great backend, great hitting power, this ball doesn't seem to track up early either, it seems to have a lot of life to it. I have had a lot of customers tell me the same thing that it hits hard and moves strong on the backends. If you get into too much oill though you wil need to switch to the Hammer Vicious particle ball. now were just waiting to see what the Vicious pearl hammer will be like. Ebonite has definently got a winner here. Jerry B's Bowling Supply Co. www.bowlingsupply.net

Whoa!!! This ball hooks too much. I was given this ball from a friend and the former owner of my proshop because he said it hooked too much. It is drilled with the pin above the bridge and the CG near the Center of Grip. I would hate to see what this ball would do with a more aggressivve drilling. I didn't think I would be able to control it very well, but I shot 690 last night with it last nigt. I need seventeen more words, seventeen more words, seventeen more words, seventeen more words, and seventeen more words.

This ball overall so far I would say is great. I was really unsure of how this ball would work out on the shot that I was going to be throwing but, it gave me great confidence. This ball definately steps up to the challenge and is greatly versitile which I truthfully didn't expect either. Keep in mind this is an initial review and I haven't gotten to throw it that much yet. But, 213, 215, 233 total 661 for the night, not too shabby for the first time throwing the ball and a not so easy shot. The lanes started out oily and it snapped right in, the lanes dried out I moved in and it kept predictable and consistent. And the drive and carry of this ball is something I would believe you DO NOT have to worry about. This thing hits like a freight truck. The new Hammer so far has be sold, I'll see how consistent it stays through the next couple weeks on various shots and if it keeps a good track record I'll be reviewing the vicious particle. Hammer you have my business, great job, don't slouch,

I love this ball. That's all I need to say in my mind. My profile shows that Hammer is all I use. This is the first ball that comes out of my bag every night I shoot, and depending on the lanes, it almost always stays. If there is too much oil and I find myself tossing it too hard, I will go with my Nova, but almost anything else, I stay with this baby. I had the ball leverage drilled with pin about 2:30 of ring finger approximately 1.5 - 2 inches out. Line from pin through CG would pass to right of thumb approx 3 inches or so. The lines I play vary for the lane conditions. If oily, I try to play around the 10 board and let the ball roll in. If drying, I tend to move left and swing it over the 15 board out to the 10 or so and let it come back. At worst, with little oil, I move to last dot, try to hit the 10 board and swing out past the 5th board for the ball to have room to come back. First night with the ball after 4 practice shots I hit a 719. Next week hit a 650 or so.

Thie ball is a big hooking ball, and works well from deep inside. I shot my 19th 300 game with it the first game out of the box. I used Hammers back in the 80's, but went to storm when they came out. I think I will be moving back over to Hammer balls in the future. I threw this ball for only practice before starting my league, and when i started with a 300 game I was really happy with the purchase of this ball. And by the way 100 words for these reviews is kinda hard when you are wowwed by the ball you are reviewing, i am speechless to say the least.. thanks for reading my review.. perfect19x

when i first threw this ball it had a ton of sideways on it...about 3 1/2 oz. on the left side, (slightly illegal), of course that ball hooked off the lane, put the weight hole in it, now the ball hasnt lost almost any of its hooking power, needs heavy oil to hook or it will die 3/4 down the lane. Great ball for many shots, swinging it 50 brds. or playing straight up the 1st arrow. this ball hits like crazy but leaves more solid 9 pins than 10 pins. Another need to get ball for any arsenal.<scri

This ball was drilled with the pin above the bridge and the CG at the 12 o'clock position (about two-three inches from the pin). The ball got down the lane very nice and made a nice strong turn. I could also open up and put some "Stank" on it with a nice, strong, predictable reaction. I could also go straight up the 10-12 board and the ball would just glide and roll into the pocket. I shot a 268 game with 9 in a row, but once the carry down set in, I had no room either inside or out. I threw an entire game with no strikes.

Topweight-UNknow Weight-15 Pin-3 inchs Drilled-12:00 stack leverage, weight hole Lane Condition #1 Out side 5 boards wet pocket has some oil middle is fried. Lane Condition #2 Outside 5 very wet, Inside is a flate oil pattern to 35 and buffed to 40 ft. Lane Condition #1 First I bowled in this in practice to get an idea of what it might do in a many game situation at a tournment. Started with cranked hand, and striking up on the ball preaty hard, with a 45 degree side tilt on the ball. Now where i stude on this lane at 42 board, throwing over the 24 board swing to around the 6 board, this ball hooked a little early for my taste but very perdictable on the backend. Next had postion i tried was to go with medium hand and more behind then tilted. Stude on the 25 board and swing it to the 5 board handing it on the edge (meaning by that i mean on the edge of out of bounce), Did very well with that had postion/relase on this ball. Now to playing the first arrow i broke my wris

I used this last night for 3 games of Practice. I laid the ball out with the pin over my fingers and the Mass Bias in my track. No weight hole. I was going for more of a hook/set reaction. I was amazed at how many lines I was able too play with just simple hand changes. I was able to start out going up the lane, then after a game, I moved inside and was able to turn the ball up a little more and still get it around the corner. I am looking forward to get another one of these ball to give it a stronger layout, to see what this ball will do. This is a great start for the New Hammer. Amazing Carry, and Great Coverstock and Core match up. Thanks, Bill BuddiesProShop.com<s
