this ball gets a great late hard break point . i got this ball off a friend that bowled 3 games with it and he had it for 2 years . so i got it just about new . i ve had this ball for about 8 months & it s hook has not changed a bit since i ve had it . the hook is very very consistent . i think this ball is great and i now think it s even better after a 678 series . i tend to find it hard to get the ball down the lane sometimes but only because i m 12. for an adult great ball well for everyone.

Addition 02/02/05: With some help from John Gaines at Ebonite, I developed a shot for my house condition and used this ball on the 38 ft pattern. Except for the time I topped over the ball, it crushed the pocket! I can still also crank it at my practice house with runs heavier and longer oil. Addition 08/24/04: I'm finding my way with it now. It's roughly a five board adjustment off my Particle Diesel and it definitely clears the heads. The reaction with carrydown was tremendous. I think it's a winner. My first few games with this ball have been an adventure. I did see where this ball clears the heads better than the solid particle version and on one set of lanes, the backend recovery was present. It was not overly strong, but fairly consistent. On another pair, I had to play up the boards almost over the second arrow to have a consistent breakpoint. I think there was substantial carrydown because the heads usually have a good amount of oil when dressed. I'll keep practicing to s

I am happy with most of the Diesels' in the Hammer line. They definitlly have been making some great coverstocks and most importantly have been the ones with the innovation.I don't recall seing a particle "pearl" before until Hammer came out with it.Now you see all these ball companies imulating the coverstock and munipulating the weight blocks inside the balls to create different ball reactions.More importantly the Diesel Particle pearl is for bowlers with lower rev rates who desire the ability to open up typical house conditions and sometimes sport shots I compete on.High rev players will benefit from this because there ball will create them some area on the lane breaking up those strange designs they tend to leave.Hope this helps thanks and good luck and good bowling!

Im a lefty bowler with fast ball speed and a lot of revs. This ball is the first ball out of my bag to asses the lanes. This ball has got to be one of the most versitale ball ever produced by any manufacturer. Becuase of this ball pearlized finish, you can literally use this ball on any conditions given the proper adjustments. The one thing that frustrates me about this ball is the seven pins that is leaves up from time to time. With my kind of angle the pocket the time i leave up 7 pins are few and far between, but with this ball it seems to be more frequent than normal. Reagardless this is one of the most controllable and predictable ball out there. The pearlized shell aslo comes at a price, however. If there is a lot of carrydown, dont expect this ball to be doing too much of anything. Other than those minor drawbacks, this is another great ball by one of the best companies, Hammer. If you need a bal u can rely on, this is a ball for you.

I bought this ball on a friends recomendation. Didn't own a Hammer ball since the late burgandy Hammer in 1992. So, I was one of the 1st in my area to throw the new line of Hammer. At first I was shocked in the ball movement and couldn't believe how this ball just smashed the 'hell' out of the pins. Never did I see such force and furthermore 'low deflection' of the pins. Nothing went airborne anymore. This is the 1st out of the box ball for me and my 'go to' ball. Rarely is there a moment when I can't use it. Just have to adjust my speed alittle and maybe move a board or two. This ball has brought back the 'fun' in bowling. Probably the best feature to this is the fact that you can get like 200-250 games out of it before the surface/ball tames down just a bit. Hammer should consider bringing this back, because this has been a real winner with alot of people. And I know that those who missed out the 1st time this ball was sold, wished they'd bought one. Thanks for making s

This ball hits the pocket like a ton of bricks. I use it regularly when my Diesel Particle starts going to high in the pocket instead of moving left. I also use it in other houses where there is less oil or dry outsides. It goes long and comes back hard, alot harder than you would expect. Light hits, heavy hits and all in between carry well with this ball, even the superlight trip 2 pin strike is common with this ball. I would recommend this ball to anyone that plays alot of 2nd shift league or in a house where either the line dries up quick or has dry outsides. Why they discontinued this ball is a mystery to me..........Another winner from Hammer :) update: shot 2042 (9 games) in the just completed city tournament with this ball for a check in all events category. simply an amazing ball........ :)

Great ball for a great price. I bowled very well with it compared to my other ball and found out that it will forgive you a lot if you make a bad shot. Did not leave very many splits and picked up a lot of ten pins. Rolled great on oil but light oil made it very hard to not hit brooklyn side. Very smooth and accurate and hits pocket very hard. Great ball for tournaments and leagues, will up my average by at least 10 pins I believe. Another great ball from Hammer that is kinda weird why they would discontinue it when it's such a good ball for almost every condition.

Having had this ball a while I felt it was time to post a review about it. My Wheel has been doing so well in league play, that I never considered using my NIB Diesel Particle Pearl. Having bought it very inexpensively (drilling + finger & thumb inserts ran more than the cost of the ball!) on ebay, I decided to give it a try during league last night. After the first game, the carry down felt like it had run to the back row of pins, so I read that this was a transition ball...so what the hey? The result, after shooting 212 with the Wheel, I shot 222 and 235 with the Diesel Particle Pearl. The 3rd game, the backends were begining to get burned so I applied a little polish and kept striking! This baby has incredible backend and a nice easy arc and a crushing entry that it sounded as if I actually cracked some pins! My drilling is 3-3/8" PIN/CG from PAP (full leverage) and no weight hole, none needed, but may add one for the additional flare. This ball is an incredible asset to the

I must say that I was a little surprised in finding out from a proshop that this ball didn't like 'aggressive' drill patterns. Now, that could be an opinion, but I was still surpised. Thankfully, I wasn't looking for an oil ball. What I wanted was a ball that would be strong for medium to lighter oil patterns. I already have enough 'oil' balls to handle anything, but didn't have a non-aggressive light oil ball. The ball is drilled with the pin about 1/2 inch above the fingers, almost between both, the CG just below and to the left of the ring finger, about 1/2 inch as well. I believe there is a weight hole (on the PAP??). Basically I wanted length out of the ball and that's what I got!! I use this ball when my Blade or Hi-Rev are too strong and are sliding and then snapping too hard. I try to play just outside of 5 and let the ball move 3 or so boards to 2 and then watch it walk its way to the pocket. In all honesty, this ball has saved my butt a few times. Last time

this ball rolls more heavy than any other ball I've owned. I was very shocked on the midlane range of this ball.I drilled it with label leverage-pin at one o'clock. this ball flips very hard at the backends.I was also very impressed at the hitting power of this ball.got it of ebay for 79.00 new in box. not a second or blem.it hooked up early on another tournament shot with less head oil,but still never quit on backend. surprised me.it out hooked my freak out on every line. on house shot this ball was on cruise control to the pocket. 246-238-258=742

I think that this ball is overall a very good ball. Its a pearl ball so it isn't nessecarily the most powerful hook ball unless you are a real cranker. I throw a nice clean long slow shot and it works perfect for me. Oil shots do give me a good bit of trouble, but other than that I suggest this ball for anyone who has to shoot on a very wide variety of shots from wet, to dry, to scorched and back. One thing worth noting is, the first ball that I had drilled cracked when they put the thumb slug in it, and now with a brand new ball after 3 weeks of use there are a good number of dings in the ball. In my opinion, too many. ::update:: there was soem problems with a defective finger slug that was preventing me from getting proper lift on the ball, I had that replaced and now I'm getting more hook out of this ball than I thought possible. I'm not longer shooting from teh first arrow in on heavy oil but from the third dot out across the 2nd arrown and into the pocket. The ball is alm

I'm extremely happy with the Hammer Particle Pearl bowling ball. The finish of this particluar ball looks taunting, and feels real good from release to follow through. Bowling a drilled 15 lb. version of this ball. When you strike, it sounds solid and gives great pin action! Very consistent roll and knowing it'll hit if you land your "mark" during your release. Your 2nd and 3rd game scores should improve each time as the lanes dry out (RH bowler). A solid peformer, worth being part of your league arsenal, and you won't be disatisfied buying this ball! Great cost for how this ball performs.

The ball is a 3" pin-out, with the pin above the ring finger and the CG at 10:30, with a 1" balance hole 2" above the PAP to bring it back to 3/4 positive. Factory finish. I tend to play inside the third arrow, with 16-20 revs at about 16-17mph, with 30 degree axis rotation and 0 tilt. I usually like midrange pearls(Messenger, Cuda, SuperBeast) drilled fairly weak, with the pin on or near the gripline. The lanes are wood with synthetic heads, dressed in almost a sport condition, with fairly heavy oil outside of 10, and a mellow backend. Tweeners are getting maybe 5 boards in the back during the first game and a lot of washouts. I originally purchased the Deisel Particle Pearl as a replacement/upgrade for my aging Pearl Sapphire Zone, and I set it up with essentially the same drilling. My initial impression was that it had far less tendency to rev hard through the heads than the Zone, and had more of a loping type of roll with an aggressive skid. This made the ball much less

We drilled this up for two of our shop bowlers. One was senior woman and One of med rev stroker. Both players were able to go more direct and get the ball cleanly down the lane. The ball reved up in the mid lane and then made a hard move to the pocket. Both bowlers liked the similiar roll to the Solid Diesel, but both bowlers were able to go to the Pearl when the Solid was to strong. The Diesel Pearl can handle more oil than the Blade Pearl, and revs more down the lane. I don't think that any one company has been able to establish such a solid line of ball, in such a short period of time. With the three lines in the Hammer products, you will be able to find a ball to meet any of your bowling needs. If you have any questions, please email me.

if you throw a lot of ball this ball is for you because it is pearlized. Great ball for the money ,and of course it is a hammer have always had a lot of good luck with a hammer bowling ball. So if you used a hammer before and liked it please try this one i think it is worth the monies. But if you dont throw a lot of hook you might want to try the vicious green or the blue purple they seem to hook more in the heavy oil. So good luck in buying your ball i think i found mine.
