I LOVE this ball hard hitter for a some what low speed two hander. For being 13 this ball is money on our local house shot. Shot my first 300 with it (not sanctioned) over all good ball bought of EBAY for about $70 and was worth the investment.

Other comments refer to the pin placement , that must not be one of the originals , there were no pin on these . there was a cg {punch mark}placement located at the Fabal symbol

I bowl with a guy who uses ones of these. It's all he uses. We bowl on wooden lanes with a shot that breaks down very quickly. People get on him about using such an old ball. But hes always in the pocket and holds a higher average. I've been struggling lately. Altering the covers of my modern equipment trying to find a ball that I don't have to work so hard to stay in the pocket. We have a new Pro shop operator and he suggested some urethane. Well the guy with the red hammer let me borrow his and I rolled a 618 with it with only one practice game. 618 at that house was probably one of the top three scores of the night. A day later the operator found one for me in great condition and now I have confidence in that house that I've never had before. The pin is about 2inches away from my pap. I now can go all night with moving very little. Now I'm lead off because I'm always in the pocket. What I like about it the most is I can really get under the ball and give it everything

I got the ball with a 1 1/12 pin so i thought it might be a little jumpy but it is really smooth with a nice small arc to the pocket. Very lane specific, there can not be heavy oil and it can't be a spotty shot with oil patches, don't kid yourself you will leave several corner pins but it can turn into a go to ball when you are extremely lost. if the price is right this is a nice ball, almost a throw back but i doubt it woul ever turn into a first choice ball

This ball is still very usable on today's conditions. I use this ball on for the second shift on a house shot. When the outside boards are blown or very spotty, I can use this ball between the 1st and 2nd arrow and the ball will just arc to the pocket. Adjustments are easy to manage. It doesn't snap hard and it doesn't have a fantastic entry angle, but a pocket shot will carry very nicely and the line will last for quite a while. Once that line is gone, do a 2-1 adjustment and the ball is back in line.

I picked up this vintage Faball Red Hammer off Ebay for a little of nothing to combat spotty dry conditions at my local house where agressive equipment will only get you in trouble by the 3rd game. Shooting down and in over the first arrow, the Red Hammer made a strong but yet smooth and predictable move to the pocket. Carry of corner pins was as good as my higher powered E-Hammers. Left side spares were a breeze. I had it drilled stacked over the label to maximize length on the condition I bought it for. First night out with it 656 series with 30 clean frames. I wish I had never sold the one that I had in the early 1990's........oh well, never to late to go retro and score with a classic vintage Faball Hammer. :)

Very Consistent Roll with just the right amount of Energy release to the Pins.. EXPLODES and IMPLODES them nicely.. This Vintage Ball if your lucky enough to find one still New in a bow somewhere is a real Keeper.. It looks Pink with the factory finish but after a couple of games turns a nice Blood Red.. Love it... I Wish I also had one of these in 14 lb also... but polished... Deadly one-two punch with one as factory finish in 15 lb weight and a 14 lb polished one for burnt or extremly dry lane conditions. Strictly an outside shot, Down and In, or 3rd arrow Straight Up and let the Red Beast loose....

Short and simple (and quite unlike me if you've read any of my other reviews).... I can no longer tolerate the wild reaction and over-the-top power supplied by my resin hammers. On medium to dry lanes, they are USELESS. My Blade Pearl Hammer would outhook any urethane ball ever made and it is supposed to be for medium to dry lanes... whatever. Outside of drilling endless balance holes to cut down on the hook, I opted to take a quantum leap DOWN in technology and buy a red hammer which i used many years ago with much success. I had it drilled straight up, nothing fancy... very simple. My $65 paid off and I couldn't be happier. This ball obeys my every whim and never overreacts. It still has enough power to crush the hell out of a rack of pins ( with the right amount of rotation, almost any ball will) and it makes the nicest, most even arc to the pocket and is all the technology I need. Right out of the box I shot 698 with this venerable champ and the only split I threw the ent

After 12 years of used the ball started behaving just like my Black Polyester Hammer. It would only go straight with the slightest of oil. I then found an article on how to "bake" urethane balls, but the process seemed too long and messy. At the end of it though, was a suggestion to place it in the dishwasher on the cleaning cycle. Boy did that ever make a difference! The ball looked "sanded" and after applying some Ebonite ball cleaner, it hooked just as hard as it ever has. Fresh from the washer I shot 234 & 233 and when I missed the pocket, the ball was very forgiving. A 10 min washing spared me from spending $150-$200 for a good med oil ball! My Red Hammer Still Lives and Still Hits Hard!

First and foremost. I am a die hard faball-hammer head. Like with all Faball-hammer products I have never been disappointed by what I have purchased. Of Course I also don't buy balls that are too aggresive for my style. Like eastwood say man has to know his limitations. This red hammer performs just like I expected it too. No surprises just great performance. I am completely satisfied with this ball, and will be a great replacement for my dying orig black hammer. It will find its place in my bag, and hopefully last as long as my orig black hammer did. NOTHING HITS LIKE A HAMMER.
