Ebonite Vortex 2 Pearl Bowling Ball

The V2 Pearl is simply big on performance, not surprises, and for just about any bowler, that's a beautiful thing.

OK... I traded a V2 Pearl in some time back and have regreted it since. Yesterday I was given one and have been blessed. I will not make that mistake again. This ball is unbelieveable and it hits so hard. The color makes it easier to watch the reaction that it has down lane. Very versitale on different types of woods/synthetics. LOVE THIS BALL!!!! The one I traded in gave me a 827 w/ a 300. and was consistent. Smooth and snappy with loads of carrydown, even when the line was blown up. This ball is my favorite. I just got a Gamebreaker...in keeping with the V2. Next up...Complete NV. UPDATE 3/25/08. I found a sheet that had old serial numbers on it from other balls I have had. Come to find out that this ball WAS MY OLD ONE.<

This ball, for me defies all conventions. I originally got it to be a nice 3rd game ball for my normal Junior League on saturday mornings. I drilled it up almost label leverage, with the pin next to my ring finger on the right side and with the CG under my ring finger (3" pin out). Based upon what I read about the ball it should have revved quick and been very smooth on the backend without much of a jump. It fulfilled the quick revving expectation but as soon as the ball touched the drying out midlane it jumped, even before the backend of the lane. For a while I thought the ball was going to be junk. During my first travel tournament of the year I was struggling in the qualifying portion of the tourney, already trying out 4 different balls, so I gave my V2 Pearl a shot when it really never should have worked (I was desperate). The ball revved up fast like on my houseshot, flattened out in the midlane while still revving hard, then arched into the pocket blowing the rack. The lanes

GOt this ball from Jeffery Mersch(Loschetter winner, YBT Winner, Junior Team USA member for 2 years) and wow! i loved it but thats when i was bowling incorrectly...and i polished it... but it sucked even more... so maybe ill use some 600 or 400 sand paper on it /or redrill it but for now yea... i'll leave my vote as 8 pins...But yea im still not @ 100 words so im gonna just talk... OH YEA! the V2 Pearl drillin is stacked and never polish up a stacked v2 pearl and expect it to have killer backend on a house shot... lol ****************************************************************************** New review- i'm going to Bill Landen Tournament on Saturday and I thought... Wow..Maybe I should give that V2 Pearl a try... so i just got it back... and now im convinced to keep it along w/ the Matrix Dominator for tourneys..... but i'll report back on the reaction of it when I throw it again...

I got this ball by trading my xfactor for it. My xfactor was to light and i just didnt use it any more. This was a great trade on my part. This ball just crushes the pins and is able to play any shot i want. The V2 is kinda like my triple x only with a little less hook. If all i had was this ball and my spare ball i would still be ok.The shot i dont think u could use this on would be super heavy oil. There is one thing that i dont like somtimes is that it breakes real hard in the back end and goes right threw the head pin. Other than that this is the best ball i own and im glad i traded the xfactor.

The Vortex V2 Pearl was the first ball I got moving down to 15...this ball is ok. I have mine drilled with a 4 1/4" pin, with a full roller mass bias. The ball hooked very nice but the problem was that it was spartic. You could throw in same spot 3 times but hit in 3 different spots. One minute is hooked too much he next it was skidding. Good beginner ball...however couldn't carry worth nothing. It seems like the way the ball hit, it never had enough hit to carry the 7 pins...also left a lot 8 pins too. I'd give it about a "C".

I have used this ball on a variety of conditions and would recomend this ball to anyone. But oh yeah, it has been discontinued. It is sad to see the good ones go, but maye it will be back. Well here is the skinny you are looking for: V2 Pearl drilled with pin at 12 o'clock, and 3/4 side weight. With dry or oilly heads the balls cuts right through and hold the line till just the right time. When carry down begins to pick up, a slight angle adjustment and your back on that string. As the above comment is heavier oil patterns are not for this ball. Try the black v2 to cover you in that dept. Yet another senseless ebonite plug.

I purchased this ball about two weeks ago and so far I have shot two 700's with it and a 288 game. This ball is an awesome ball, I can play an inside line or a down and in line and still put strikes across the board. I can use it on many oil patterns and still score well. I think that Ebonite has created a ball that will become a legend. Also, this ball is sold at a very reasonable price, it's not too expensive. If you want a ball that will deliver great performance at a good price, I would reccomend this ball to you.

No matter where I stood I couldnt find the best shot today. After getting used to it I think it will be easier to throw.Inside angles seemed to play best for me. I still think this is a very good ball Overall. I am looking for a ball that carries well and this one does that. Maybe after talking with the pro shop guy we can tweak it some more and it will be just what I needed for the conditions at Capri lanes. It seems to go down a little to far before it breaks to the pocket. I would like it to be more of an arc. This is a fine ball for the money and I recomend it for anyone.

This ball was given to me by a friend of mine who works with me in McCorvey's Pro Shop, i threw this ball the first time with a very strange pitch and odd sized finger holes, this ball ripped through the heads and snapped in the backend like i have never seen before, out hooked my trauma recovery by 15 brds. This is the hardest hitting ebonite ball i have ever thrown. Very sharp entry angle, along with excellent carry. This is a must get ball for any arsenal. Get the V2 Pearl, i am eager to throw the V2 particle also, i have high expectations.

This ball is smooth through the heads, and makes a strong movement at the end of the oil. I can use this ball on anything but an extreme wet/dry and light oil. It is especially powerful when it is used for inside angles, and recovers smoothly, but still stores enormous energy off the dry boards. 3 of my friends got this ball along with me, and we are all totally impressed. It hits like a truck, and is very versatile, especially the coverstock which can easily be modified. I shot a 288 the other day with this ball, carrying the front 10. This ball is great at reading the lanes, and is predictable, a must have for everybody.

the vortex 2 pearl is a great ball but not what i expected - i drilled this 12:00 pin inbetween the fingers-- this ball out hooks my solid vortex 2 by a good 4-5 boards which is very unusual for a pealized coverstock. if u make the adjustments u will luv this just as much-- this ball hits very hard an carries almost all - u will leave a dime once in a while but what ball wont. i roled this bowl in a tourny. house shot --- an avgd 245.8 for 6 games - a couple 10 pins stopped me from avg'n over 260.

I bowled with it last night, on fresh oil, on the house shot. Taper from dry gutters to wet middles. The pin and the CG were just about 4 1/2" from my axis. I drilled the ball strong thinking that it was going to be a middler ball, and that it would fit in with my Afterburner, with a little smoother backend. I tried in practice to swing the ball, but found that when it hit the dirt, the ball just hooked way too much for what I could handle on that shot. I moved inside of the other bowlers and keep that ball in the oil. I like to flatten the ball out when going for corners and use the same ball, and this ball is a ball that is very versitile. You can change your hand position and get different reaction to fit those conditions. This ball was amazing, it hit like a truck, and blew the rack whether it was a light hit or a solid pocket shot. I used my Afterburner the last game and it was about 7 boards less than the Pearl. I think that the Vortex line is Great bang for t
