Ebonite Apex Adrenaline Bowling Ball

Bowlers are absolutely pumped about the new Apex® Adrenaline ball from Ebonite®. Its high-flare modified Fusion™ core retains energy that shoots Adrenaline down the lane, while its pearlized Big Bang™ coverstock delivers a burst of energy that sends chills through the competition. The best bowlers have winning in their blood and Apex Adrenaline in their bag. What's The Secret of Apex's Success? Peak Performance. Most companies would be content to coast after successes like the original Apex and Apex Intensity bowling balls. Both have become the favorites of professional and amateur bowlers for their power and control. Now Apex Adrenaline rounds out the collection with a rush of power and late hook that take your scores to new heights. Reach for Apex when your customers have their sights on winning, because the Apex line is all about performance. The Motor The Apex Adrenaline utilizes a version of Ebonite's highly successful asymmetric Fusion™core. The Fusion core was modified by eliminating the lightbulb extension and by adding a pancake flip block on top of the core. The elimination of the lightbulb protrusion creates a small flat spot. This results in a reduction of the mass bias to .002, slightly more than a traditional pin out ball (.001). The lower mass bias increases the transition time from skid to hook to forward roll, allowing the ball to conserve more energy when it encounters friction. This conservation of energy provides a 'cleaner' look through the midlane and a sharper breakpoint angle. The pancake flip block adds core torque and differential, helping delay the breakpoint and to create more backend hook potential. The BOMB logo will be located roughly 6-3/4 inches from the pin, on a line through the Center of Gravity (CG). The Tires The Big Bang™particle coverstock is a new formulation from the Ebonite R & D laboratory. The Big Bang cover was engineered to provide a completely different hook motion than the Big Easy™and TPS particle coverstocks. The reactive resin base was reconfigured to provide a cleaner path down the lane, conserving axis rotation and energy to provide a stronger breakpoint angle and more backend continuation. The silica particles provide a consistent traction and are the same size, and in the same low volume-loading levels as found in the Big Easy™particle coverstock (found on the Apex Reflex, Intensity, and the Vortex Afterburner). Pearlization and the addition of PET sparkles combine to conserve energy to create a strong hook potential in the backends as well. The Adrenaline comes factory textured with 15 micron sandpaper (similar to 1200 grit sandpaper). The Big Bang coverstock is easily tunable to provide the desired breakpoint and hook potential. The Combination The Apex Adrenaline was engineered to provide a complementary look to the Apex line. The Apex Reflex, with its strong midlane roll, was designed to provide controllability and predictability in heavier oil environments. The Apex Intensity featured the same strong midlane roll of the Reflex, but with a stronger backend hook potential. The Apex Adrenaline will provide less midlane roll while increasing the breakpoint angle, producing a more dramatic backend hook motion and a higher degree of angle of entry into the pocket. The cleaner look through the midlane is especially beneficial for slower ball speeds, medium to lower axis rotation, higher rev rates, and for playing inside angles. Surface Texture Having the correct surface texture will enable the Apex Adrenaline to perform at its peak. The 15 micron (similar to 1200 grit) factory finish is designed for medium oil conditions and medium ball speed players. Test the box finish in your bowling center. Should your ball speed be faster or your lane condition be heavier oiled or a longer pattern (causing the breakpoint to be too far down the lane to produce the proper reaction) we suggest scuffing with a burgundy scuff pad or 600 grit sandpaper. If your ball speed is slower or your lane condition is lighter oiled or a shorter pattern, the box finish may be too aggressive, causing the ball to lose energy down the lane. We suggest polishing with Powerhouse Particle Polish. This will delay the breakpoint, allowing the ball to retain energy longer. Please consult the surface friction guide for further information. Maintenance It is imperative to maintain a clean surface to allow the oil-displacing pores in the ball's surface to function properly. Powerhouse Energizer Cleaner and Powerhouse Ball Scrubs contain a potent combination of organic and inorganic cleaners designed to deep clean the dirt and oil from the ball's pore structure. Both products are legal for use during ABC competition as well as after the conclusion of competition. The micro-fiber, Powerhouse Oil-Free Towel will provide more absorption of oil and dirt than standard terry towels.

this ball is a particle ball that rolls real early and does nothing on the back end. you have to bowl on a shot w/really really really clean backends. this ball hits weak, rolls early, chips and scratches easy, and besides all that its ugly too. save yourself some headaches and dont even through this ball. i had it plugged and drilled 3 times and wasted 90 f$#^&*& dollars on this damn ball and it sucked. i got this ball for free and ended up in the hole 90 dollars. it takes a real piece of crap to do that.

My purchase was based on the majority of reviews that I have read prior. It all seemed to be a good ball for the Oily setting with good break to the pocket. So I gave it a go... First of all...the color...Dark Gray/Pink...(the color combination would look good on a $100 Poker Chip), and in ways it does have its "visual appeal" as the ball revs down the lane...your revs are revealed to all who look upon your delivery. The moment of truth however, didnt live up to my expectation in my opinion at impact...there are balls that will "move the pins" and the striking effect is awsome to watch as you view the results, but for me...the judge...I said to myself...a soft hitting ball that hits like a peach. Did I still get a strike? yes...then what am I complaining about? comeon now...even a houseball off the rack can strike... This may be a case that the engine was wrong for the coverstock... If your a league player and carry an average around 150s, yes I can recommend this ba

I like this ball alot.It has pure backend and a nice roll.I love this ball on heavy oil happened to find a used one and was one of the best things that happened to my game.I needed something to hook on oil and I found it.I wish Ebonite would stop discountinuing great products.I can't get any more Apexs' and there a great ball line.I am happy with this ball and works well for anyone looking for heavy oil.Slower ball speeds will definitlly love this ball.High rev players with fast speed will also benefit from this.Adaptable, versitle, and great. What more can you ask for in a bowling ball?

This is my heavy oil ball. With my revrate and torque on the ball even after I've calmed my release down alot of the "heavy oil balls" are too much. I tried this ball during a demo day thinking that it was going to be too much also..boy was I surprised. It was very readible..had excellent roll and different over react. I bought one and it is outstanding!! If there is heavier oil I just pull it out and let it eat it up. There has been no change in reaction..the reason for this statement is that I have heard that this ball "dies". Not for me. Ebonite continues to impress me.

I have had this ball for about a week now and i have no complaints about it cause i like working with this ball and also i can actually send it out and it will come back to the pocket and that is great. Also this ball comes back quick. Because of this i am able to send it out and it will come back at the mid point. Also with this ball i have bowled well with it and i glad my brother didn't get it. Also my parents think that i have improved since i got this new ball

My Adrenaline gets to pumping when I talk about this ball! Let me say that choosing the Apex Adrenaline was one of the best bowling decisions I have ever made. Ball Specs – 15 lbs. 3 inch pin out with 3 ¼ top weight. Drilling – (Pattern #5 from drill sheet in box.) Pin is located directly above the finger bridge. The CG is swung out to about an inch or so from the center of grip and the Bomb is located in the “Strong” position. Bomb is located about halfway between the right of the thumbhole and the VAL. A balance hole was drilled on the PAP to keep it legal. On to the lanes! First house. I used the Adrenaline on synthetic lanes first. The shot was a typical house shot where they oil and buff to about to 40 feet. When I arrived, the lane crew had just finished oiling the pair. Great! On a fresh shot, the Adrenaline was fantastic! The ball got down the lane with complete ease. I didn’t have to work hard at all to get it up the boards. The mid lane was completely even and the b

16 lb. Apex Adenaline pin out 4 inches top unknown Layout: 4 x 5 Pin above and right of ring finger, label just on positive side of grip line. Bomb in weak position, thumb neg. quadrant. This is one of the best hitting dull balls I have thrown. I throw pretty hard, and hit the ball plenty. This ball never rolls out! Always a strong, rolling arc. Good on soupy stuff. I used it recently in a tournament where everyone was having a rough time getting the ball to wrinkle. People were squaring up on the gutter. I stayed inside on 25 over 15 at the arrows, and it was rolling up around 35-40 feet and turning over very nicely. Light hits were all gone-swish the rack out clean. Solid hits tripped 10s every time. I was getting great reaction...too bad I kept short arming it thinking it wouldn't hook. Finally stopped doing that the last game and shot very well. Good oil ball, will be my first out at Knoxville. I'm even thinking about an Addiction or Agression. Anot

I first heard about this ball from a freind of mine. Up until this time I have only used Storm or Roto Grip products. All of which had never disappointed me. So I was somewhat reluctant to try some other manufacturer's product. In the end I made the purchase, I have not been sorry since. This ball is fantastic. I have played this ball on a variety of conditions and types of lanes. I can honestly say that this ball is the most dependable ball in my arsenal. I have shot a number of 200+ games with this ball. My average has gone up about 25 pins since purchasing it. This ball is best from around the 2 arrow. I have played as deep as the 4th arrow with it. It is my 1st Ebonite ball and it wont be my last! This puppy hits like a mack truck! Cuts through the oil and when it hits the dry spot it will turn right into the pocket and just devastate the pins. Keep up the good work Ebonite.

Like I said earlier I traded this ball with a guy online...he sent it to me and I sent him the Trauma Response, all I did was swap finger inserts. first game I rolled it I knew I'd love it... Then on thursday night league I had front 7 strikes left a 10 pin and missed it,then struck out for 267. next game shot 300 all dead flush strikes, then went front 4 spare strikes to the 9th left the bucket(first ball outta the pocket all night..of course I chopped it...then struck out for 246...wow what a ball...had quite a few 700's with it too... and on jan 28,2004 I shot 810 with it (233-299-278) I will always have a spot in my bag for this Ball, see yas around, Paco

When i first got the ball i hooked the hell out of it. Hooks hard if you put a good turn on the ball. Doesn't perform as well with carry down with my drilling. Doesn't hit as hard as the Optyx formula 1 which is a great light oil ball. Drilled pin out 4" from PAP bomb at 90 degrees but should've drilled it pin down 4" from PAP bomb at 45 degrees. I actually like this ball a lot on really worn down lanes all i have to do is speed it up. It was good while it lasted but i think there are much better balls out there now. Picking up the Addiction today looking forward to that. Anyway decent ball 8 outta 10 looking more at a track freak out though for medium oil.

After talking, and reading more about this ball I realize this was a great ball.. I set this ball to go long, and come back hard.. The mechanics in the back hate seeing me coming because they already know they will be getting pins all night. This ball is a very forgiving ball, and will come back even if you don't have the wrist. Even if the heads are dry all you have to do is put the ball down very early, and it will carry down the lane, and turn around at the last moment. The one bad thing about this ball is the lost of the 10 pin. You will be alittle rusty whenever it stands up

this ball is definetly the best in the apex series if not all of the ebonite line. I threw this ball and fell in love. my average has improved by at least thirty pins. I belive I will be throwing this ball for a long time to come. If you're looking for a good ball at a moderate price..... look no further. i think this ball will make any bowler happier and better. so when you go to your local pro shop to buy a new ball be sure to check out the adrenaline. If you don't like it you must be smokin' some crack

AS I SAID IN THE AFTERBURNER REVIEW, HAD DEMO DAYS . THIS BALL LOVED THE FLAT PATTERN AND FOR ME IT WAS WORTHLESS ON THE OTHER CONDITIONS. GREAT GREAT BALL ON ANY SHOT WITH PLENTY OF OIL. RUNS FROM THE POCKET ON SOMETHING DRY. I COULDNT EVEN GET IT TO POCKET ON THE WET/DRY HOUSE CONDITION. WOULD SEND IT FROM THE LEFT GUTTER, IT WOULD SKID TO THE 7 TO 9 AREA THEN HOOKS BACK TO ABOUT 12 THEN JUST ROLLS OUT. ON THE DRY ONE IT WOULDNT EVEN DO THAT. THIS BALL IN MY OPINION IS BETTER THAN THIS 6 PIN RATING, BUT I GAVE IT 6 BCUZ I THOUGHT IT LACKED THE VERSATILITY THAT MOST PEOPLE LIKE

The Adrenaline is a ball that every bowler should have in their bag. It looks for the pins and when it finds them that is all she wrote. My average has gone up at a time when most people say that you can't really move up, and that is at the end of the season. I have gone up at least 5 pins since i get the ball and since my average is over 200 that is saying alot about this ball. I hope that Ebonite hurrys and puts the next ball in the apex series out soon, because I will be the first one in line to buy it.

this ball is good with when u have a backend - if u dont leaves alot of 10 pins -- i polished mine for a bit more length - work better than dull.... i didnt throw it on a sport shot yet although i did roll it on a college shot - out of bounds outside 10 an light oil inside - if i swung into the oil i was leaving 2-8-10s if i played up the oil it worked wonderful - just couldnt miss inside. my overall rating on this ball is an 8 -- more aggresive than the intensity but not as violent as the reflex

Wow, what a ball. We just received our striking effects program ball and drilled it for a teammate. This bowler’s prefers to go down and in, but has the ability to bell the ball in need. He has more of a spinner style. This bowler has used all the balls in the Apex line and this is by far the best one that we have seen. The Intensity hooked earlier than the Adrenaline and was more controlled. The Reflex goes longer down the lane than the Adrenaline but with similar movement to the pocket.. The Adrenaline was laid out with the bomb on the Vertical Axis line, with the CG about 3 1/2" from his axis, and the pin right beside his ring finger. We left it in the box condition to see what this ball was going to do. He has used the bowl on both first shift and second shift lane conditions, and the second shift condition tends to be too dry for this bowler up the lane style. On the first shift lane condition the Adrenaline cleaner the heads with ease and then rev up in the middle lane and
