Ebonite Apex Intensity Bowling Ball

(15 reviews) Write a Review

Intensity's two-in-one Fusion™ core combines a high-flare hourglass core and light bulb core to produce a redesigned, precision-balanced density change that boosts core torque and mass bias strength over the original Apex. This combination provides more length while increasing overall hook and breakpoint angle so players can really open up the lane. Reach for the original Apex for more control and predictability, the Apex Intensity for more power - it's a winning combination that has everybody talking. The increased torque of the new two-in-one Fusion core propels the intensity down the lane, releasing energy on the backend to maximize overall hook and create an angle of entry.

Got this ball used for heavy oil situations. It hooks beautifully. Color is great, looks very sharp. I love the potential this ball has. You have to keep some revs on it though. It needs something to get it going. I'm righty, I play this ball with my left foot on center and throw straight up second arrow. Pretty good ball for oilier conditions. It does not like dry lanes though. When it comes to versatility, It can play different parts of the lane, but doesn't like to swing too much. when i first drilled this ball i absolutely loved it. bowled my first league with it and averaged jumped about 30 pins. when new this ball has a massive hook and hits hard. i am currently using it in a league again even on lighter oil the hook has died out some it will still perform but only on a up and in shot over the seconed arrow. when i first got the ball it killed the pocket with a massive swing hook on heavier oil. now i play on lighter oil and the ball only plays up and in. i just replaced it with a razor blade. this ball is great until about the end of the seconed or third season gets under its belt then performence dies out

I had this ball for about 5 months and for that period of time, I was bowling very well. This ball hits very hard and will work for almost anyone. Other then the ugly colorization, this ball is worth every penny. Probably one of the best Apex balls out there and I recommend it very strongly to anyone that can get a hold of this discontinued gem. I shot a few perfect games with it and it will last awhile. Just make sure you clean it as much as you can to have its reaction close to new as possible. Unfortunately I once hit the pocket so hard that the ball came back broken. Honestly... lol<scrip

Overall the ball is descent at best. I had good games and series w/ the ball, so its not a terrible ball. It hit the pins hard and has very good pin action. Just at times it seemed like a chore trying to get the ball to react consistantly. It has great hooking potentional. I was disappointed w/ my ball. I got damage and had it repaired/sanded. After that the ball was the biggest piece of garbage. Don't know why, but after that is when I had trouble w/ the ball reaction. It could be pro shops fault or just the ball. If you can find one cheap, give it a try or just get a better ball

When i First got this ball the Pro-Shop Dilled the span to long... When About a week ago i got it Fixed.... The Guy drilled the Thumb hole a little to big, but i Fixed .. THat 100 Grit Is So crazy , I did it because i needed a ball with a little bit more hook on the lanes..... This is one of the best balls I guess Ihave ever used since the day I started bowling... When the Lanes Brack down put it away... Because you will keep moving left until your out of the damn bowling allay ... Peace<scri

I bought this ball on sale for $125 and i honestly must say that it was a bargain. my average jumped up considerably and my confidence is booming. i just love it. my friend happens to have the same size hand as me and asked if he could use it . so i let him and he jumped his aveagae from 196 to 202 in one set. i firmly believe that ebonite really out did themselves on this baby. it hits like a monster truck and the back end is phenomenal. i only wish the ratings could go past 10 because id give it a 20!!! thanks.

GREAT BALL!!!! Love it more than anything else I throw, and I've thrown alot. I've been replacing old bowling balls with newer stuff, but this is one ball that will be with me for a while. Can't go wrong with it. Sometimes when the carry down is bad you leave alot of nine counts, but spares win games, and a slight adjustment of the wrist brings you a nice 220+ game. Shot 259 my first game with it, and have averaged over 210 with it, I normally only average between 200-208, so it has improved me a bit. I can't wait to take it to a big tournament and score huge to win. Haven't seen a pair of lanes that is doesn't like, with the right adjustment it is the most versitile ball I've ever seen. Don't know what I would do without this ball in my bag. I throw all the brands out there, but EBONITE killed when they put this ball in my hands. Thanx to all the people at EBONITE who put this ball together, great minds, make great balls, and you all are right on the money. I just have to ke

I hate this ball some what, I also hate the Pro-shop that drilled the span to big... The Apex Intensity is one of the balls that i think Ebonite saying , man we came out with a bad ball... I say that because if you go to there web-site they don't have that ball on there.. Yeah its old So is the Apex-Ad......I have bowled about 100 games with this ball and only got about 20, 200 games... Which really sucks..... So when i was down on my average i put on a brace thinking that would help me out a little.... It did until the brace keep poping off..... THen i new no matter what i did that this ball would suck for life...

This ball is everything i hate in a bowling ball. When you need it to hook ... it doesn't, when you throw for a spare and want the same reaction you get the frist ball, it over hooks. I just plain hated this ball. The only time this ball worked was i threw it angled straight at the pocket. JrBowler300 can vouch for the fact that this ball just didnt hook. I have never thrown a ball this horrible in my life. Even the Shock Zone was good compared to this. This ball is just another bad excuse for a bowling ball by Ebonite.

this ball is drill with the cg on the midline, alittle off of center of grip and the pin is at 1:30 (like the #1 ebonite drilling) the ball give a strong grip of the lane when sanded and also can give a bit more of a flip for the backends when polished. on the normal house shot it works great for heavy oil to medium/light oil just keep in mind having to adjust as the lanes get drier. when sanded it goes about 25 feet then starts to make its turn to the packet in a consistant arcing motion. when this ball is polished it gives more lenght and a stronger break-point reaction which makes it more skid/flip. *my style has the following, avg speed (15-17.5 mph), high track, medium to high rpm (300-375+ rpm) and also a 45 degree axis tilt<scr

This is definetly my favorite ball!!! A few weeks ago, I shot a 245, which was my highest then. Took it out next night and got a 254. Last Sunday I took it out and got my high game 267. It also got me my first 600 series(674). This ball gives me so much area. The only way it won't get to the pocket is if I intentionally throw it in the gutter. One of my favorite things about this ball is what it does to the pocket. It always sends messengers toward the ten pin, but its almost always gone anyways. I have left less than 30 ten pins in the 150+ games using this ball. For my style of release (side revs, 45-90 degree axis rotation), I found out the hard way that this ball needs carrydown or long oil patterns. I definetly recommend this ball to all tournament bowlers and league bowlers that bowl on heavy oil.

This is the close as it gets. If it hooked any more you couldn't throw it! If your in the market for a hooking ball and can't make up your mind which one to buy well I'll make up your mind for ya buy this one. We sell tons of these bad boys its ugly it hooks it hits and everyone knows what your throwing. One downfall is this ball always seems to get a hole in it. Some people don't like this but it dosen't hurt anything as you know. This ball is hard to lay out wrong they give you all the info < Thanks Ebonite > even a amature can drill this one. Through this one at a recent Ebonite Demo day. Stack drilling. This ball hits like a truck! Made for heavy oil conditions, but was using it on a medium condition. This ball had a nice move to the pocket. I was able to play deeper with it (3rd arrow) and get it to come back nicely. I'm a stroker with medium revs and 16-17 mph speed. This ball stores up a lot of its energy for the backends. Those who play deep will like this one. Nice recovery on miss shots, need oil for this one to really shine

I only just started to test this ball, but it is strong in the mid-lane than the original Apex, and just a much pop in the pocket as the last one. I threw this ball in practice, after the first shift was finished and it glided through the head, and started to read the lane in the mid-lane, with a smooth but strong reaction to the pocket. I am going to test this ball more and post more later. I gave it 8 pins, because I think in the factory condition it will be too strong for guys with a lot of hand. They will have to change the surface to meet their needs. For the guys with less hand, you will be able to give this ball some room, and get it back with good hitting power.
