I wanted this one for a while and allstar bowling had it and with decent specs(3"pin,3.25 tw)so I grabbed it for 60.00 shipped!!!!!!!I had stormed299(thanks bill) map it and drill it for me.He put the pin below the bridge about 4" from my PAP and bumped the cg over about 1/2" just below the midline no x hole. I've only put about 15 games on it at two different houses, both just had Anvilanes recently installed and were playing fairly tight for me with fresh oil.So I played a fairly tight line to the pocket at house 1 straight up 10,the ball is clean through the heads and picks up nicely in the mids and when it finds dry it turns left like it was kicked and like all new balls sends the pins flying. I know this ball is a solid particle ,but for me it plays just like a reactive pearl. The beauty of it is this ball is controllable because it reads the midlane but doesn't seem to "overread" the dry.Something I definetly need at tourneys when the lanes can be so volitale. At house 2 I got a p

SURFACE Throttle Up has a 800 grit surface, highly polished with 2 coats of Black Magic. LAYOUT This ball is drilled label, with the rin above and next to the ring finger, and the CG a tad right of center of grip, at a 45 degree angle. VERY LARGE weight hole way past the axis to accomidate for the 0 top weight :P REACTION First off, due to the cover on this ball, and the way that it reacts off of my hand you would never know that it is a particle ball. It completly looks like a reactive, from it being clean through the heads, and a monster backend. Anyway, as i just stated, this ball is super clean through the heads as long as there is a little oil. The ball coasts to the mid lane where you can see that it is starting to pick up its roll. Then im between the backend end and the mid lane, the ball revs very very hard, and then when it reaches the backend, all hell breaks loose. For a standard label drill at 45 degree angle, this is by far the strongest ball that i have at the

Thought I'd post a review on this puppy, threw it for about 50 games before I got rid of it for more, um, "quality equipment". Not by any means did I dislike this ball, it was smooth, breaking nicely at the breakpoint, and carried the pocket well. On medium oil that is. However, this was supposed to be a Heavy Oil ball, and that, it is not. The ball would typically slide on heavier synthetic oils, and never really roll well on heavier wood oils. Thus I give this ball a 7 out of ten. If the ball were made out to be a medium ball, It would be at least a 9 out of 10, but as a heavy oiler, a 7 out of 10.

i am averaging like 220 w/ it. i have got about 120 games on it. and it still just keeps on working. i love columbia but its my fav. ball. i recomend this bowling ball to anyone. columbia never stops amazing me w/ its equipment. they are the best. i will always use them. if you like bowling balls that do not move too much this is your type of ball. i love it. everyone should buy it especially if you like columbia. buy it buy it buy it buy it buy it buy it buy it buy it buy it buy it buy it buy it

This is my first new ball to get started after a 7 season layoff. Ball is drilled pin under ring finger, CG to the right of thumbhole. The weights are 1/2 oz of both side and thumb weight. The way mine is drilled makes this ball have a good amount of length, it sets up, then has a a strong arc to the pocket. It hits a ton. I have about 8 games on it so far, and when I get it to the hole it crushes the pins. What is lacks in backend snap, as opposed to its strong arc, it makes up for with the control it has. This is a great plus for me since I'm bowling for the first time in a long time and am struggling for consistency in my swing and release. I would definitely recommend this ball the way I have it drilled for anyone looking for a medium oil crusher.

I love this ball! Spent SG$290 for it.Hooks a lot with a very nice backend.and crushes the pins real hard. The MuscleGT coverstock name fits the ball perfectly.Though the colour is not very nice.but with the revolutions it looks just so perfect to me.Doesn't overreact too much though.after throwing it down the lanes dirt and oil often get attached to the ball...have to spend time cleaning the ball with a ball cleaner after every session.but spending time on this ball is certainly worth it!!! It doesn't have a very obvious smell but when u get closer to try to smell it...it will become a very nice smell.I got addicted to it!!!

Smooth and strong the Throttle Up gives great length and hits a ton. Very predictable. It has great hook on the backend and really mixes em up. If your a down and in bowler then this is the ball for you. I previously used a Wicked and switching to the Throttle Up was one of the best moves I've made. As previous reviewers have said, when the lanes breakdown and dry out, put this ball in the bag. Color is bad as is the case with most Columbia balls but thats not what you buy a ball for anyway, right?

i drilled it with the pin above the ring finger and the cg kicked out the ball move good on the oil and hit hard. i played arround the sec arrow and the ball came back hard. the only bad thing was that didn't work good when the back end was flowed with oil. but oh well it still work like a champ when there is a back end. i think this is the best ball in the trottle camp. as long as there is a back end this ball will work. if the lanes are dry you might want to put this one a way and go to a less powerfull ball.

So, this is the Throttle Up. Well, it is so much better than the Throttle R, I can hardly believe they are in the same family. It turns the corner, is predictable and hits. What else does one need? 16 pounds, pin under bridge, CG slightly below and do the right -- essentially 5.5x5. 1. Length. This ball gets through the heads clean -- so long as there is head oil and something in the mid-lane. If you face drier lanes, most will have to put it away as it will grab and can roll out. But it isn't for those conditions. Low rev players may be able to use it on light oil. But even polished, this is a fairly agressive ball. 2. Flip. Unlike the Throttle R, this one turns the corner -- and that is with a 5.5x5 drilling. A clean, predictable move without overreaction, probably because of the particle load. It doesn't "flip" but it does make a hard, clean move. 3. Hook. Plenty, but not as hooky as the specs would seem to indicate. It hooks plenty -- its a stronger ball -
