So I found this ball during a yard sale. It was a 15 pounder and the guy said his son left it when he moved away years ago. The ball had some dents and dings and definitely had been dropped on the pavement. I ended up giving him $20 for the ball and rolling bag. The finger hole were close to mine so I went with my fiancee to the bowling alley and bowling a 146, 168, 244. The last game I found my mark and figured out the ball and it was game on. Consistently bowled 180s for a few weeks and ended up getting it redrilled and polished with new tips and slug. Went back out with the new finger placement and went back down to the 140s trying to figure out how to throw again. Highest game after redrilling is a 207 and thats only my 5th game with it after redrilling. The ball will hook but you have to put the revs on it and keep that consistent. The ball makes great pin action with you hit the pocket and doesn't leave you with a ringer most of the time. Good for spares but it likes to cut through stuff rather than deflect off things. I use a 1966 Brunswick black beauty to pick up 10 pin spares. She just glides down the lane and make the weirdest noise when it hits the pins.

I have just started back bowling after years of doing nothing much outside of work. The ball I had since the age of 16 was stolen a short time ago and I had been using house balls. You know how frustrating that can be. Never finding the same ball twice and having to learn how a ball reacts every time you bowl. That took some of the fun out of my game. Now, thanks to the help of a bowling pro in North Myrtle Beach, I have a great ball and I know it fits my hand and I am so glad to be throwing fingertip again. Yes, I miss my old ball but this one, what more can I say to express my great feelings about it! If it were a woman I would ask her to marry me! :-) I want to also thank all of you who had written reviews prior to this one. They made me feel better about my purchase before I had even gone to the lanes. Hope to now be back on my way to strikes or spares in every frame. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or if you just want to. Happy bowling and NO splits.

I bought this ball to use when the lane conditions are really dry. to my surprise it does hook more than i thought it would. The price of this ball made me think that i was basically just buying a cheap ball that wouldnt move very well. to my surprise this ball moved hard on the backend and just pounded the pins. this ball i would recomend for someone who is learning to throw a hook. It would have good backend and they could probably even use it on medium oiled lanes. When i used this ball i was throwing it up around 23 mph and it still moved really well. i did put a lot of revs on it to though. this ball is exactly what i needed for when the lanes are drying out.

I got this ball about a year ago and it has a nice fit in my bag. It works well on medium to dry lanes with a nice little snap at the back end. The price of the ball is really modest and could find a place in anyones bag. As for recs I would say if you are looking for a ball that has a great price and need it for medium or dry this is a super choice for you. For a veteran to a rookie this ball has a fit. Oh within a month of buing the ball rolled a 711 not to bad for a $65 ball.

This was the first ball I bought when getting back into the game a year ago. Read some reviews on this site which made my decision easy. Had the ball drilled for a nice rolling arc. Was disappointed at first because ball was reacting like a 30 year old polyester model. A very light sand job changed all that and once ball had about 20 games in it to somewhat scuff the surface, nothing but success. I throw a pretty straight down and in shot with it and by putting in a little crank, have improved my chances. Without the sideturn, 10 pins come up a little too often and really good hits. Will carry most tight hits on all but the driest condition. Don't try to play 3rd arrow unless you like 5 pins. Works very well on 1st or 2nd arrow shots on same lane, same night. Just watch the muscle, will skid very easily if pushed.

Being a first year bowler and a Stroker, I was searching for a ball to use on a second shift league. The Wild seemed like the best choice to complement my Wicked. Being a down and in bowler with low/medium revs, This ball is the perfect choice for light oil lanes. Since light oil lanes are no good for my Wicked, the Wild felt right at home. I have no fear of light oil anymore and have found myself scoring much higher in light oil houses that I've always feared. If you are a stroker like I am, and use the Wicked for a down and in shot on Medium oil, the Wild will give you a similiar reaction on light oil. Heavy oil will diminish this ball's hooking ability, and bone dry lanes will make this ball go Brooklyn and beyond. But dry and heavily oiled conditions are not what this ball is for. While using this ball, I've noticed that after a game or two, you need a towl to wipe off the scuff marks and oil tracked on the surface. This ball does not soak up the oil like its brother....t

I have a bad problem of picking up my friends or team mates balls and shooting well with them. If you read my other review on the WOW you will see this. I wearing in my new shoes today and I was bowling with one of my old team mates. I couldnt quite find the line i wanted with my Duece so i decided to try his Wild straight up 7. Once again i shot lights out with someone else's ball (279, 300), but this time (unlike the WOW) I didn't let this one get away. I bought it off of him for $40 :P

Got this ball mostly as a spare ball/dry lane ball. Doesn't seem to react very well to anything more than very light oil. But that was expected because I wanted the most length possible on the drilling with a fairly weak backend. This ball for me is nothing more than a glorified spare ball. The best part is I can chuck it down the lane Jason Couch-style and still hit it at the bottom and it won't hook...which is a very, very good thing. Many people say this ball is ugly, but the color combo works for me.

Well I got the ball drilled for a dry condition. I bowled 3 games with it on medium-light oil(wood lanes). First game I bowled 179, second game was a 203, then the third was 233. A 615 series(a 205 avg). This ball will shread the pocket. Its rather forgiving. You can come up light and strike. But coming up to high leaves a problem(split). Its a consistent ball. Only had to move once through the 3 games. And the hook rating on this ball is under rated. Hopefully it wont die out on me or anything. And I only left 2 ten pins too.

I like this ball but I would not buy it again because I need a ball that can hook more. I can get this ball to hook a little on the backend or on dry lanes, I can also throw this ball perfectly straight which is good since I don't have a spare ball. I had the ball drilled for finger with inserts. I don't like the color I don't know why the manufacturers can't make a solid color ball. I have noticed if the ball is warm, leave it in the car on a warm day, it hooks real good.

This was my first ball, I got a year ago, and I had it drilled for earliest possible reaction. I recently played with it on bone dry conditions (no oil difference between head and backend!), as I have learned how to bowl consistantly. Starting from 5 boards left, aiming between the 1st and 2nd arrow. 60 degree tilt, high back swing, fast ball speed, medium revs, minimal wrist rotation, much lift. I was very pleased with its consistancy of path (even arc) and hit into the pocket (sizable margin for error), rolling at the right time (but I suppose I have to expect that where there is no oil!). It would go out to the third arrow and come back in slamming the pocket (banana shot!). I nearly always got strikes with 1-2 pocket hits (inaccurate shots), and even sometimes head on, on the head pin. I would recommend this ball to people who want to play on very dry, or medium (short/ medium oil length) conditions. It does not lose much energy going towards the pins (pearl cover), and t

TRY THIS BALL IN A TOURNAMENT WHEN THE LANES BREAK DOWN.YOU WILL SEE THE BALL WORK FOR YOU.WHEN THEY ARE OILY LEAVE IT IN YOUR BAG.COLUMBIA IS DO A GOOD JOB MAKING A GOOD OVERALL BALL FOR PEOPLE.WHEN YOU USE THIS BALL DO NOT TRY TO THROW A BIG HOOK. LET THE BALL NDO THE WORK.THE BALL WILL WORK ON DRY THE BALL WILL COME BACK AND HIT PRETTY HARD.DON,T BUY THIS BALL IF YOU THROW THE BALL FAST IT IS MADE FOR PEOPLE WHO DO NOT HAVE THAT MUCH HOOK.

this ball is outstanding. i didnt know it was going to be this great, i just wanted a ball for medium to light oil and the funny part is i can put this ball on alot of oil and still manage to hook, im not complaning. i drill this ball to do nothing, but just do to what my release does. keep this ball during tournaments because when the lanes dry up you got your back up. this has great backend, and has a nice angle of backpoint to the pocket. k k k k k k k k k

Too early to really tell. Would like to get it on more oil. I think it will skid too far and not finish. I think on a league shot it will be fine. I don't expect much of it for a tourney ball. May be a good straight up the boards ball but will have to find that shot to see. I would like to buy one more and try to tame it down for drier lanes. Maybe a 6 inch pin with the MB in the track. Though might buy two and make one a 4 1/2 inch pin with the same MB in the strong line. For a mid priced ball it's not bad.

I purchased the ball to fill the gap I currently had in my bag. All of my equipment was too aggressive when the heads got dry. This ball is very mild on tough conditions. Very predictable roll with good pin action. If you are looking for something for heavier oil conditions, this ain't it. if you need something for the other conditions, I would definitely recommend adding the Wild to your bag. It is relatively cheap with a Reactive coverstock which should last a long time. As usual, I'm not a big fan of Columbia's choice of colors, but not as bad as the Icon.

I bought this ball to use solely on dry conditions. But it grew on me..... I shot 299 with it 1 week after drilling it up.. I did it on fresh conditions believe it or not... When I'm having to push other balls out, I can use this one straight up 10. This is an excellent go to ball for bowlers who have a large selection of equipment, but it works for those bowlers who want something real cheap that gives good bang for the buck. This ball does everything its supposed to, plus more... I just wonder who the mastermind of this color was..... Does anyone else think this is possible the ugliest ball on the market??

I recently purchased the Wild. I am a former league bowler, and now mostly bowl for fun. But I still want to throw a good score. I used to use a Blue Hammer (my pro shop guy said that was the best ball ever made) and I liked it. I left it in NJ, plus it was time for a new one. I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I have never used a pearlized ball, and this ball has a nice angle to the pocket. I can crank it enough to get the big hook if I want, and still cut down the angle for my spare shots. I would highly recommend this ball. <scr

i drilled this ball 75 X 6" X 45, pin @12 oclock to my bird finger, CG slightly kicked to the right, and this ball did exactly what a tame drilled reactive white dot should do....SLIDE...everything i had was hooking too much for the way i started throwing the ball in my home house. But this ball drilled how it is, just slides through the front, and has a sweet tail end on it. i absolutly love this ball, i cant use it on the wood lanes i bowl on, not enough outside oil, Swinging Icon is better for that, Columbia's reactive white dot absolutly dominates the lanes, with the superior looks and killer reaction.
