Columbia 300 Rock On Bowing Ball

Columbia 300 announces the introduction of the ROCK ON. The ball features Columbia's TEC2 cover stock. It features the TEC2 shell. The secret lies in the new core shape and heavily loaded TEC2 particle shell. The core concentrates the weight near the center of the ball for maximum roll. The large, dense flip block adds to the flare potential for more hook. The high TEC2 particle loading puts more teeth in the shell to bite through the heavy oil. This ball will grab the lane through the oil for a mid lane hook and create a strong curving backend.

Kick it up a notch and blast away!  All lanes are game, no pins are safe.  Rock On!™ is specially designed to crush heavy oil with its loaded TEC2™ particle shell.  The new core shape packs the weight near the center for maximum roll.  And with the new design, its flare potential for awesome hooking power is intense.  Play On!

This ball is amazing. this was another one of my balls i got for FREE. Gotta love the free stuff. This ball is unreal. This ball has to be one of the best mid range balls Columbia has made ever with the exception of the Rockstar which is a nice compliment to this ball. This ball has lots of back end it has a smooth transition in the mid lane and then just makes a sharp left turn to the pocket with a lot of power. IT goes kind of long and then does its thing. This ball isnt for the weak.<s

Be Consistent and this baby will treat you well. Take it to the dry put it away unless you like playing between 4th and 5th arrow and like it in front of the ball return. Wipe it down to keep it turning the corner consistent. Sucks it up. And it would probably be a good idea to once you get them worn in. So like a game and a half grab something else so you dont wear them out and end up in front of the ball return. And take care of your stuff. I've seen a couple reviews about people getting some of their equipment worn out after like 50 games. Clean your stuff save some cash.

I bought this along with a limited edition Spirit at the end of 01 (Christmas presents). Mind you, I was actually learning to hook the ball with control, so when I finally shot these balls, I did horrible. HOWEVER, when I FINALLY mastered the hand release necessary to hook a ball, my opinions of these balls changed COMPLETELY. Specifically for the Rock-On!, this was my first ball out of the bag EXCLUSIVELY until I picked up a WOW!. However, the Rock-On! remained my co-favorite ball (along with the Ebonite V2 Trimax) indefinitely. What more can I say about this ball? It does everything on everything. Knowing what wrist position you need in a particular situation is all you need if you got this ball drilled with stack leverage, which is the type of drilling I presume I have on this ball. Probably the only thing I can't get this ball to do is recover from 1-board to the pocket, but it can do just about anything else. A little surface adjustment may be necessary for extreme lane c

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS IN THE FIRST MONTHS AFTER THAT IT'S JUST NOT THAT GOOD IN HEAVY OIL AND YOU CAN BETTER GET ANOTHER BALL OR PUT LESS SPEED IN THE BALL BUT THAT LEAVES A LOT OF SINGLE PINS

This ball is a perfect fit to a longer oil pattern. If you have a faster ball speed then you will be able to get the ball to the pocket more efficiently than a slower ball speed person. If you can get the ball to the pocket efficiently then this ball is for you because it destroys everything in it's path. The way I have it drilled is with a 12 o'clock pin and it is extremely aggressive. Good for tournaments and shots with longer oil patterns. If you need a ball folr these kind of conditions then this is the ball for you.

This ball has great carry, even if you don't throw a monster hook. Practically anything in the pocket is a strike, no bad leaves really, unless you count a 10 pin as a bad leave..... but, this ball is great, I won it in a random drawing and I love it. No way you can go wrong with it, just know when to use it. I really haven't been using much hand lately, and I'm carrying better than when I got more revs on the ball..... This thing also carries throughout the pocket, and can be thrown from all angles of the lane. From inside, to straight in, this ball works.

Today I had the priviledge of trying out a Columbia 300 Rock-On. Let me tell you. This ball almost made me want to switch from the TI to this. Mainly because of the straight lne it can carry out and snap into the pocket. Unlike most balls it will not go out and hook back in unles you throw it that way. I play the straight line shot and this ball was perfect for me. If you do not like to put a lot of hook on the ball and play a straight line go for this ball. Trust me.

For the conditions I play, (in this case heavy oil) the ball works fine. I have to slow it down a bit and even so, the ball still hits hard. When the track area drys out, I can move inside and the ball will finsh fine. My Rock On! is drilled over the label, nothing exotic. I've had this ball for about a year and is still going strong. It didn't burn out like my Rock Star did.... I would definitely recommend it for use on oilier conditions, that is, if you can still find one..... I think there is a limited Rock On! edition coming out...

Overall great ball for Heavy Oil. Would recommend to everyone who is looking for power and hook on oil. Handles carrydown good and knocks out the corner pins most of the time. When the lanes dry out loses hook and power unless you move deep inside. I had alot of tournaments with heavy oil and bowled alot of high 750's with the rock on. My buddies also brought it after watching me bowl and two of them shot 300's. One of the top 3 Columbia Balls ever made. Its worth the money go out and buy one. National Tournament i played 7-12th board and won well over 1000 dollars in prize money and brackets and pots.

I have it drilled straight up, doesnt over hook on me but can see how it easily could. Have thrown several different angels and still track and hits like nothing I have ever seen. Sucks up a ton of oil can become (overloaded) and need to be cleaned, or will loose some of its consistent roll capability. Can be lightly polished for use on drier conditions. it works best in oil, had some problems in a sport oil invironment, mostly the way it was drilled. Definetly steals 1 or 2 strikes a night. Highly reccomend. My favorite ball of all time.<scrip

Greatest ball i have ever expirienced in my life and i hope to have it for the rest of my life. I have yet to hit a big game with this ball but i know its around the corner my good friend recently shot a 296 game and ended a three game series with a 768 so this ball has capabilities like no other. Consistant to the pocket and when it gets to pocket watch out. If you can keep this ball consistant on dry lanes you must have one hell of an arm. I wish that i had bought 10 of these balls because they last and like the Rock On's modo it truley is "Longer and Stronger."

I was looking for a ball at my pro shop and they said they had the ROCKON on sale. I wasn't looking for that ball but I thought what the hell. so I bought it. and remember i am 10 years old and with the rock on i could go to the middle and throw all the way out and it will come back. with this ball i have shot 2 222's with this ball and in one of them I had 7 in a row. that proves that the rock on is the best ball ive ever had in my short career. if you can, buy this ball TIMMAY

This is a great ball, it cuts through heavy oil, it pounds the pocket and always carries, can be thrown a variety of shots. I have had this ball since Mar. 9 2001, and this is still my favorite ball. The only bad thing is that, sometime around Nov-Mar. of 01-02 this ball seemed to sorta die out, so i polished the poop outta it and used it as a dry lane ball, didnt work, still hooked the same but not as much as it used to, sanded it again nothing changed except hooked earlier, polished it again but lighter, nothing really changed, i put it up for a while then a while later got it back out and threw it and it was like new...This is a much get ball. Slams the pins anywhere its thrown and carrys all em down.

I used this ball for almost a year and all kinds of oily lanes, it's the reason I got it in the first place. I found it to be a jeckell and hyde type ball. If you didn't hit it just right you would either be very light or get right up in the nose, Not much wiggle room. But once I polished it. There was a lot more control and the hitting power was very good. I would only throw this ball if if was polished. Dull it seems just average at best and I think you will find it more of a frustration just trying to find it's break point.

This is a great ball. I threw this ball during my college tourney during the early games and it worked great. I love throwing this ball on a heavy oil pattern. It would just like cut threw the oil. See the only real bad thing about this ball it seemed like i would leave a lot of 7 pins. No matter what shot i would throw it would leave a 7 pin. It gets kinda frustratring when you are throwing a good ball all night an all you see on the score board is 9/, 9/. And most of them nine spares were 7 pins.

I love this ball. I bought this as a step up from my Messenger Ti Pearl. I some a few people in my summer league with this ball doing very well compared to what they do with their other stuff, so I thought I'd pick one up. Once I got this 15# monster drilled, I took it to some heavily oiled lanes to see what it could do. Let me tell you, if there is a lot of oil or tons of carrydown on the lane, you will not be dissapointed with this ball's performance. The only time I didn't strike, was if I made a bad shot, otherwise this ball would carry on anything. This ball hits like a tank!! It keeps its energy and then just devastates the pocket, whether you hook it the whole lane, or play up the boards. This ball has a very consistant reaction; I don't think I have ever left a split with it, and I leave very few ten pins. I have seen a variety of styles do well with this ball, and I'm just one of the many who love this ball. If you are a tournament bowler, or you just don't have a heavy o

This ball is, in a word, AWESOME. I recieved one at Husker Bowling camp in Lincoln this summer. At first, I didn't really like it. But once I learned to tame the Hook Monster, it has become the "#1" ball in the bag. The ball is set up in a 5 3/8 by 5 3/8 drill pattern, with the pin above the bridge and CG in the palm. According to the drill sheet, "Best length, smooth arc." 3/8 ounce finger weight, flat on the sides. Ball has been scuffed w/ grey scotch-brites in a Haus machine, so probably around 800 grit sand (I did have it polished for a while, and it polishes very easy, but it rolls better closer to box condition). The ball is great on almost any pattern. It cuts through oil to make a powerfull roll, and recovers from deep lines as well (but corner pins become a problem). The only weak spot for the Rock-On would probably be dry heads. The agressive TEC2 cover just grabs too much when head oil is an issue. However, despite that, the ball is still a 10. There are

I am a tweener who loves to throw swing as my A game. This Rock On gives me the swing area that I need and the consistent move to the pocket that is reliable. Ball hits with authority, makes the pins jump around and with a lot of messengers on a light and high hits. I have seen this ball with potentials to give me the breaks to get my 3's or high end 2's. For me, I need strong arm or to play it really deep to use it on my last few frames of the 2nd to the 3rd. Definetly a not dry ball for me.<s

I have had this ball nearly 2 months and after puting games on it, the only thing i can say about it is it eats oil. I never ran across an amount of oil that this ball did not hook in. It cleared the heads wounderful, and about 35-40 feet, it just snappes like nothing else. the only problem that i have found about it is that it hits so hard it seems to leave odd splits if you don't get flush and if you don't have a good sum of oil, it will burn up the lane and just start hooking at your feet, and unless you throw 50mph, no way to keep it pocket. Outside of that, Columbia has created a great ball in a great line
