Columbia 300 Blue Pearl Shadow Bowling Ball

This is a bang-up ball for beginners. It hits with the power of mildly reactive urethane and, on dry lane conditions, has a very controllable hook. And the price is right. Available in a Blue Pearl.

You'd think that Urethane wouldn't have a place in 2006. Well, If your a cranker that bowls on short/light oil with ver dry backends it all makes sense then ! The ball is drilled with the pin 1.5 inches right from the center of the palm and its cover is in its factory condition. The ball gives a nice readable arc to the pocket and doesn't jump erratically like reactive's do for me in this condition. It jumps slightly, but is very tame. The Shadow hits and carry's well too, almost like a reactive ball. On dryer lanes, I can swing the ball out a bit and still get length and a controllable backend. Anything above light oil , however, and the ball skates down the lane. Overall: This is a good ball for a cranker or high - rev bowler on lighter-dryer lanes that need something tamer and more controllable on the backends.

A very good spare ball that can then be a srtike ball when the lanes turn to the dry side. Can be played straight up for the ten pin if you have some oil to play with. When i frist threw this ball i put alot on it and it did find a dry spot and then it took off past the 10 pin so that was my fault. After that mistake i flattend my ball otu then it worked just fine for me. This is a good ball for beginners it was for me and im sure it will be good for someone else

This ball is an ok ball but not the best in the world. The thing this ball rules at is spare shots, this ball just has enough hook in it to play the one board to pick up the 10 pin. DO NOT USE THIS BALL AS A STRIKE BALL UNLESS THERE IS NOT A SINGLE DROP OF OIL ON THE LANES YOUR SCORES WILL SUFFER. I made that mistake when my balls were hooking to much, so I tried the shadow and finished with a 590 series, which is horrable. You should get this ball for spare shots, but not strike shots.
