Reaction Characteristics The Ultimate Inferno is a heavy oil ball designed for bowlers who prefer Reactive over Particle coverstocks. The Ultimate Inferno uses the same core as the original Inferno but combines it with a solid 800-grit dull version of Activator coverstock. Compared to the original Inferno: -The Ultimate Inferno will match-up better to oily lane conditions, longer patterns and heavy carry down. -The Ultimate Inferno will match-up better for bowlers who struggle with excessively long ball reaction. -The Ultimate Inferno will match-up better on heavily oiled - over/under lane conditions. Brunswick’s new Activator Coverstock has quickly established a reputation for excellence in ball reaction, durability and longevity of ball reaction. On the lanes, Activator Coverstock is clean through the heads with excellent mid-lane recovery and a strong arcing back-end reaction that creates powerful pin action.

I bowl in a sports shot league where this past week we had about 50 feet of the stuff and the ball reacted well with minimal speed. Ball worked well for 2 out of 4 games. Won't give a real violent reaction on heavy oil du to ball's nature. Will leave an occasional weird split when carrydown is present.Going to Junior nationals next week, will update!!!must have oil in the heads, if not don't even look at it!!!!!!!!! Sometimes hits like a sock, dosen't do the best when the lanes are spotty. However is the set-up ball only, can't be used the entire day, either the lanes or the ball won't permit it.

Got this one punched today, 4" x 60 deg., 3.7 oz. top weight. I was hoping for my Quantum Raven on steroids. Boy did I get it right. I cannot even think of targeting right of 3rd arrow with this ball. Goes a little longer than I had expected, then a very nice setup and very hard turn out of the dry. This ball MUST have oil up front or it will definitely burn out very early. It was even burning out early if I got it too far right too early. When played on the right conditions and in the right area of the lane, this ball is a big winner. This is the first ball I have ever used that makes me comfortable to be playing left of 4th arrow. Definitely a great choice for flooded conditions. SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION ALERT! On 10/29, used the Ultimate all night (how bout that?) and rolled games of 258, 221, and 300 for a 779 series. The ball reacted smoothly and evenly all night long, I only had to move my feet right by one board throughout the night. The more I use it the more I love it

i have put 100 games on the ball already and i was kinda dissappointented with the bowling ball at first because, me being a tweener and not putting a ton of hand into the ball and only throwing it 15-16 miles an hour it tracked up way to fast for me. I got the ball and drilled it so it would not track out so that it would just flip over and keep hooking but it diddnt hook like i expected it just had a very even roll. The carry wasent that great either if i put to much hand into the ball it wouldnt hook and i would leave a stone 10 pin.Its ok.<

This ball is unstopable. This is a great ball because if you know what you are doing with your hand positions you can play any line you want too. I have been playing across the 15 and into the 5 for a strong clean return to the pocket. I average 206, and out of the box I shot a 279,289,and 248. I've not bowled a 300 yet but it with this ball it is getting to where i can almost taste it. Brunswick did and absolutely fantastic job in making a ball this managable. Any one who is thinking about getting this ball needs to get it.

This ball is just to good! I am an average bowler (207 average on various non-wall shots) First time I used this ball on a non-house shot I shot 289 ,290 ,226 out of the BOX!!! I know I am not that good but with this ball you can just play anyware between 25-10 with the right amount of roll and speed and destroy the pocket. Even when I miss right this ball holds and does not seem to over flip on me. I have the drill set up for the pin between axis and leverage. (Brunswick drilling suggestion 3E) and I am using a 4" pin for maximum length without polish. I strongly suggest people pick this one up. It even works ok in dry you just need to move alittle bit left. Nice smooth control great ball! Way to go on this one brunswick.

I've been bowling for only three months now and this is my first high performance hooking ball. It's a very good ball for a cranker or stroker, but it can be picky at times. The guys I bowl with throw bananas and baby hooks with my ball and they have gotten similar results. I've rolled this ball slow and fast. For me, it likes it in the 15-18 mph range. I've got a Blazing Inferno and it can't touch this. It could be because the Blazing is polished. I'm going to get it dulled to see if it will react better.

I have had this ball for awhile and still have only put a few games on it. I just don't like it. The Raging Inferno is 10 times the ball that the Ultimate is. It lacks a good read on the midlanes thus causing it to squirt. A dull ball squirt? That does not happen often. Those of you that are thinking (it is burning up), it isn't. I know what burning up looks like, and this ball is not even close to that. If it sees oil at all, it is not going to do much. I have tried surface adjustments...nothing. I think I just do not match up well. Poor bowler to ball match. Either way, FOR ME, this ball is horrible.

Look at my diagram, it will tell the real story of how good this ball is in and out of oil. Overall, Ultimate Inferno is forgiving ball in the pocket area. However, lane conditions play an important role. Every house will either use light, medium and heavy oil. All houses do not use the same type of oil. And, the condition of the synethic lane when you arrive to play (has the oil tracked to the all important dry lane near the pins?). I have even heard rumors that some houses have up to 3' shorter lanes (causing more strikes) and up to 3' longer lanes (causing splits, 10 pin, 7 pin, etc) then regulated by the PBA. This is measured from the line where your foot must not cross to
