Reaction Characteristics The Scorchin’ InfernoTM is an upgrade of the popular Ultimate Inferno™. The two color solid, sanded reactive coverstock combination has been one of the most popular in the industry. The Scorchin’ Inferno uses this configuration with an upgraded version of Activator® coverstock called ActivatorMAX. ActivatorMAX is the latest development in Activator coverstock technology. ActivatorMAX preserves the clean reaction through the heads that Inferno balls are known for while increasing mid-lane and back-end hooking action in heavier volumes of oil. Extensive on-lane testing places the best RG match-up for ActivatorMAX at a slightly higher value than that used for the Ultimate Inferno. For maximum forgiveness and versatility the Scorchin’ uses a higher Average-RG, and lower differential version of the Ultimate Inferno core. When compared to the Ultimate Inferno, the Scorchin’ Inferno has the unique Activator clean

Drilled for maximum hook as per in intructions with pin above ring finger. Before i tried this ball i did not enjoy brunswick products for the last 6 years . After the quantum line i tried a few brunswick procts shuch as monster which hit dead. Zone was ok,but they lost me when they came out with a ball a week ,where was the quality. Then they came out with the scorcher line all i can say is wow they stuck gold.It is consistant.hits strong and reads the lane well. After about 100 games with it when i shoot well it always gives me a exploding finish. hats off to you brunswick.

I have been bowling with Brunswick bowling balls since 1999. My average is 210 and I love Brunswick bowling balls. The Inferno series is probably the best line that Brunswick has every come out with thus far. I recently just purchased the Brunswick Scorchin' Inferno bowling ball from bowlingball.com, received it fast by the way, and bowled with it today and I am "TOTALLY" impressed with this ball. It has a tremendous hook, I have never seen anything like it before. I have two Brunswick Smokin Inferno's and they don't even compare to the hook of the Brunswick Scorchin' Inferno bowling ball. Put it like this, I tried to throw a washout and the ball just hooked up and hit the pocket, no matter how fast I threw it. "GREAT BALL", Thanks bowlingball.com!!!

I've had this ball for almost a year (10 months). It does very very well on house shots. It does so-so with sport shots. It can't take an extreme amount of oil. It's been haveing a hard time moving lately, even on house shots. It's gotten so the Radical Inferno with its polished surface out hooking this. I've had it put through the hook-again and resurfaced. But even after all that, it's still having a hard time. I eventually replaced it with the Fury. I still like though. I'm keeping in my inactive line up and off the retired list for now.<sc

Drilled this ball 5 3/4 x 4 1/2 pin below middle finger and small weight hole on PAP. Put on spinner and polished with Rough Buff to put slight shine on cover to add length. I set this ball up to control short med/heavy patterns. Ball does exactly what I intended as it gets good length and revs hard in the late midlane and sets nice off the corner. As a nice bonus this ball is a monster on all med volume patterns regardless of pattern length. Carrydown does tend slow the move off the break due to the polished cover but it is very easy to read the transition with this ball. Without a doubt this is the best ball I have taken a chance on even though I set it up as a condition specific tournament piece. Brunswick did a good job with this one.

When i first got this ball i absolutely loved it. If the lanes were completely swamped with oil this ball still made a move to the pocket where my other balls wouldnt. but after 2 months or so the ball soaked up so much oil i can no longer use it in the heavy oil. I clean in after every 3 games, I soaked it in hot water, and i also use a scotch brite pad on it and it still doesnt like the oil. This ball is now a good ball for medium light to medium oil no matter what i do to get the reaction out of it again.

have tried 2 lay outs first was label leverage changed the cover to 1000 grit sanded and tried to roll the ball on med conditions but ball would hook too soon on wood lanes and on the synth. lanes back end was over or under mostly too little, polished ball and had no back end at all. changed the lay out to approx 4x3 with the pin to the right of ring finger and still had similar reactions. if the release is good then might get good movement on the back end and when it hits the action is great. have experimented with the cover and still hav e not found the one for me. maybe heavy oil is all that may work for me. havesold a few of these balls and results have been good for the other bowlers.

I bought this ball last week and Im loving this ball. I got it drilled with the pin just above and to the right of the right finger hole. I bowl in one league that uses wood lanes. The PBA inferno that i own would not react much on these lanes. the first time i threw the Scorchin it reacted beautifully and nailed the pocket. This is a very good ball to have in your bag. Beware though when the lanes break down its recommended to switch to another ball. this ball needs oil. GOOD JOB BRUNSWICK on another masterpiece

the scorchin inferno is a ball that a variety of bowlers can benefit from this ball will hold line and cut through carry down and a multitude of other lane conditions. i throw with a ball speed of 20 mph and a high rev rate . yet this ball never slides off of target and works for those strikes. this ball was mentioned to me by my buddy who got his before me and i was really glad to learn of it because within 10 games of owning it i threw a 290 , a 299, and a 289,. this ball is my favorite inferno anf i think that anyone who is looking for a heavy oil ball should find the scorching inferno.<scr

Ive had this ball about 4 weeks now and have played on a wide range of conditions with this ball, and all i can say is that finally a ball manufacturer has made a ball that does exactly what they say its goin 2 do. This ball does everything you want it to do on heavy oil, good mid lane read and an excellent and continuous back end reaction. I had this ball drilled maxed out with the pin being placed just under and slightly 2 the right of my ring finger, and without a weight hole. (sorry 4 lack of ball specks i will update as soon as i find them) This is a very good heavy oil ball, i also have a AMF Terminal Velocity for heavy oil but that strugels on carry down, so whn that dosent turn the conrner this one does with ease. It copes with the oil so well and dosent want 2 burn up when the lanes start to dry like so many heavy oil balls do. I have seen this ball with a variety of differnent drillings and they all work well but when you max out the drilling u seem to get the best

By the way, I slightly polished this ball but not enough to take away the dull. This ball is ideal for fresh oil from medium up to heavy oil. Because of the increase versitility, it doesn't have one area where it absolutely smashes the pocket so your scores will likely be more consistent. I got this ball drilled with the 1L drilling layout. It works good on a variety of lines whether you want to play inside, outside, or some where in between. However, it works good for getting to the pocket, the problem is carrying. Usually you don't carry with this ball because the head oil is drying up. Good for for a freshly oiled shot in the first game.

I got this ball the other day final got to drill it up. Recently I got a absolute and loved it so I thought I would give this one a shot, especially after I got a passion and wasn't so impressed with that one. Not the case here. I drilled it with the pin below my ring finger just a little to the left, CG kicked out to 45. And the ball just HOOKS! I played every where with the ball no problems. At my house we dont have really great back ends so I started out alittle of the wood no prob, as I kept bowling just kept moving left with ease. If your looking for a heavy oil ball that rolls great and hits hard, look no further. P.S. Did I meantion this thing flat out HOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<s

i had just gotten my hammer real deal redrilled to go long, hoping it'd hook since it's a backend type of ball. but, it failed. my father bought me this ball, and wow...in 3 different shots so far, i'm extremely impressed. the ball hooks consistently and in the heaviest oil i've ever played on. when all my other stuff was skidding, this ball performed to the max. you can loop the shot if you want to, and go down and in if you don't have a lot of hand. the loop shot is much easier to perform in my opinion now with this ball, because the confidence that you hold in your swing is much more than say if you're holding the absolute inferno in heavy oil. BUY THE BALL!

When I first got this ball drilled, the pro shop put a large balance hole near the thumb-it refused to stand up except on lanes that were completely fried. I talked to my friend that works weekends at the same pro shop and he convinced me to plug and move the balance hole. It glides through the heads and stands at 35 feet to slam through the pocket. A little more speed and keeping the ball further inside gives a very strong reaction. A little less speed and a little more across the lane allows the ball to truly show off its power--goodbye ten pin!! Even on the slickest lanes the ball manages to stand up. It is very strong on the sport shot I bowl but I lack the revs to get any big turn out of it on these lanes. I still love the way it follows through though. For Lower to Medium Rev players I would make sure that you get a pin position above the fingers.

This ball is the best inferno ball for oil. Same as the Absolute just for amazing amounts of oil. Send to the dry and watch it come from NO MANS land and destroy the pocket, like it was never even there. Great on ahouse shot and amazing on a sport or PBA shot. The scorchin inferno loves carrydown and is more for strong and clean backends. Stack leverage drilling with a high or low track is good for this ball. BEWARE when shined corner pins are a coming because the ball goes to long and enters late. OVERALL Great ball for Oil.

I LIKE STORM EQUIPTMENT BUT I LEAN TO SOME BRUNSWICK STUFF. I MUST IN ONES BAG. IT DOES NOT BURN UP AND LOSE POWER EARLY IF THEIRS SOME OIL. NO PROBLEM WITH STONE 8THS OR 10 PINS. JUST MAKE SURE YOU THROW THE BALL AND DO NOT WIMP OUT. A NICE STRONG MIDALNE SHOT WILL WORK THE BEST. I THROW HIGHER GAMES WITH STORM BALLS BUT BRUNSWICK MAKES ME STAY CONSISTANT WITH GREAT GAMES AND HIGER AVERAGES. I THINK I WILL DRILL ANOTHER WITH THE PIN ON TOP OF RING FINGER STACKED FOR MEDIUM CONDITIONS. I WATCHED JOHN PETRAGLIA SR. THROW 3 SCOURINS WITH 3 DIFFERENT DRILLS AND PIN ON THE SIDE OF THE RING FINGER AND STACKED WORKED THE BEST ON ALL CONDITIONS. ENJOY!

This ball is an oil sponge. Drank its fill and now it won't let the oil go. Tried everything from soaking it in hot water, to resurfacing it. Even took it to my pro and let him run it through his oil remover (hot box with absorbant rollers), but it didn't work. I've been able to adjust the surface so it'll work on medium to dry oil, but I've already have several balls that were designed for those conditions, and the Scorchin' Inferno is supposed to be a heavy oil ball. Overall I'm pretty disappointed that I dropped the big bucks on a new release that didn't hold up for even one season. My old Columbia 300 Reaction Arc outhooks the Scorchin' Inferno and the darn thing is almost 4 years old with a ton of games on it. I will never buy another Brunswick ball. I don't make enough money to risk buying another dud, and I have no doubt Brunswick's testing showed that this ball would not last and they released it anyway. Shame on you Bruswick for releasing this piece of crap, and ev

The ball leaves nothing left on the deck when it is in the pocket. I waited about 30 games to post a review that way I had thrown it a 3 houses on a variety of shots. It loves the fresh oil and even carry down but even if you can find a shot when they break down it is not the same ball when it is played inside and it can not come screaming in. The ball hooks for sure but the it does get down the lane before it takes a sharp left. Definatley goes longer than the Ultimate but I think it covers more total boards (if needed)

I am a brunswick fan to death, but became extremely disappointed when i heard that they were moving to Mexico I figuired i needed to make one more trip down to woodland and get this ball, and what did i expect...exactly what i got, an AMAZING BALL, once again. If u bowl tournements, do yourself the favor and buy this ball and have it drilled by someone who knows ur game, the ball is too strong...its a love or hate. I had to change the surface to love it and now i cant believe that i went a week and a half without buying this ball, first two full games in league 243 and 258...

The arc in the midlane of this ball is exactly what I´m looking for when I need a ball that I can depend on. The best thing is that it does not loose any energy on the backend because of the good midlane read. I have used it on several wooden lanes and a few synthetic, it works on all. When it gets a little dry you should change ball, that is the only time you dont need a Scorchin Inferno. Best Inferno ever made. I´m going to drill another one with a later layout, I will come back with a review on that.

this ball is freakin amazing, it never stops hooking, it drives into the pocket nicely and sets up at a relatively high angle, the scorchin inferno hooks so much that i might be able to easily hook the whole lane! i have had this ball for a little over a week and a half and i love it. the Scorchin Inferno hits like a truck full of bricks and doesnt roll until the mid-lane backend part of the lane, it is the most hooking ball out of the whole line of inferno balls. this ball is definately one of the best balls brunswick has come out with lately<

This ball is no joke, it has the most hook of any ball I've ever seen. What I like about it is that it is a great ball for many different types of bowlers. I am a cranker and I usually cant play a down and in line but this ball is so versital that I now can go down and in with the best of them. Its carry is great , hitting power unmatched. Don't underestimate this ball if you throw it too slow it will hook hard still and bite you in the ass. If you don't want a hook machine, then don't get this ball. It is another great editon tho the inferno family and one of the best balls I' ve ever thrown. I suggest you go get onetoday.

Brunswick Scorchin’ Inferno Review: Brunswick truly hit the mark on this ball. We’ve been waiting nearly two years for them to release a ball that would replace the ever popular Ultimate Inferno. Brunswick’s R&D obviously waited until them new that they would have a real winner on their hands. Unlike most manufacturers who just release balls and say they hook more and will be better then their predecessors, the Scorchin’ Inferno truly lives up to the hype. The early reviews are in from the Super Bowl MegaBuck events held in Las Vegas and the Scorchin was truly hot at events like the Mini Eliminator and the Boot Hill where the lanes were swamped. This ball cut thru the oil with ease, but did not hook early. Much like the Ultimate Inferno the ball was clean thru the heads, strong in the mid-lane, and great continuation in the back-ends. The Scorchin’ is a great ball for today’s heavier, slicker oils. In comparison to the Ultimate Inferno, the Scorchin’ was about 5-10 boards more aggre
