Brunswick Ultimate Inferno Bowling Ball

(226 reviews) Write a Review

Reaction Characteristics The Ultimate Inferno is a heavy oil ball designed for bowlers who prefer Reactive over Particle coverstocks. The Ultimate Inferno uses the same core as the original Inferno but combines it with a solid 800-grit dull version of Activator coverstock. Compared to the original Inferno: -The Ultimate Inferno will match-up better to oily lane conditions, longer patterns and heavy carry down. -The Ultimate Inferno will match-up better for bowlers who struggle with excessively long ball reaction. -The Ultimate Inferno will match-up better on heavily oiled - over/under lane conditions. Brunswick’s new Activator Coverstock has quickly established a reputation for excellence in ball reaction, durability and longevity of ball reaction. On the lanes, Activator Coverstock is clean through the heads with excellent mid-lane recovery and a strong arcing back-end reaction that creates powerful pin action.

I've had this ball for about 6 months. When I first got it I loved the hitting power and backend movement. After a few months, I thought it was loosing a little, but I started cleaning it before each use and it's been great since. I shot 300 at the end of July, in a strange house playing a different line (straight up 10).

This summer I averaged 222 lofting the ball across the third arrow out to 10 and it would come back strong, carrying everything except an occasional 10 pin.

In our first week in the new winter league, I started with a 802 series.

Keep the ball clean and give it some room and watch out !!!

Bowler Specs: Lefty Rev Rate: 450 Ball Speed: 17.5mph Ball Specs: 16lbs 3" Pin, 3oz tw Drilled with the pin under ring, Cg out a little, with X-hole. Sanded to 600 grit and lightly polished. The Ultimate Inferno is currently in my medum/Heavy oil spot in my bag. With the cover prep I have it makes the ball strong in oil but still throwable on medium oil shots without much loss of energy. On medium/heavy shots, the UI is clean through the heads, and has strong midlane, and when it starts rolling it doesn't quit on the backs, giving it great carry on heavier/longer patterns. When sanded to 1000 or 1500 grit and repolished, the UI goes farther down the lane, and hooks a good 4-5 boards less, making it great for medium patterns. Dry outsides or broken down heads will cause this ball to hook early and loss too much energy downlane. I know people around here are having problems throwing it in box condition on medium shots, cover is key, the Acttivator cover is a very agg

This seems to be a really good ball for medium to oily lane conditions. Have not tried it on wood lanes yet. Most of our lane beds here in Central Indiana are synthetic lane surfaces. Will be bowling on a wood surface in the traveling league. So, I will have to wait to see what it does. Do like how it reacts verses my Track balls (Animal and Unleashed) Seems to pick up a roll quicker than they both do. Will probably be adding the new Classic Zone to go with the Ultimate Inferno for winter and tournment bowling. Will need to add a second review after I have bowled on wood with both of these new Brunswick balls. Would be a good ball for anyone that does not like using the particle ball on oil. Does not seem to "give up" like on the back end of the lane. Keeps moving. Hits really hard.<scr

Lane Conditions: 43 feet sport Shot The ball did what i expected of it and it is VERY controllable. I believe it is the Best sport shot ball out there for heavy oil. Compared to the blade particle, which gave me about 2 boards of room, and did not turn, the Ultimate Inferno made it's move in the place where i needed it to turn, and crushed the pins. NOTE: i did not get this ball drilled for maximum hook, it was drilled with the CG in the middle of my palm, and the Pin 2 inches above the CG which is under my ring finger.

well i drilled this ball up stacked, so that i could get a decent roll going in the midlanes. I wanted the ball specifically for tournament shots that are just too oily for the rest of my equipment. Needless to say this ball has done the trick. I took it to Dallas with me for the Junior Gold national championships and i was beyond happy that i had the ball. When all of my other equipment was sitting in the oil like a bike with no wheels, this ball would skate through the heads, pick up a small roll in the midlanes, and then fire on the backends. I find that this ball plays a lot better inside than it does with the outside angles and using a little less axis tilt on this ball will produce incredible results i think. In addition, this ball is great for playing short patterns. The only adjustment that needs to be made is how far you loft the ball. Overall this ball is an excellent ball and i carry it with me everywhere i go. i've had this ball for almost a year now and i've

15lb 3 in pin. Top 3 oz. Drill 4 1/2 X 5 pin right by the ring finger. Use it at Vegas for the 1st time and had no practice shoot 3 set 660. Lane was 8 boards out of bound. Play down 15 to 8 and it came back nicely and carries anything close to the pocket. If I got some game I would have done better. The ball is the best of the inferno line. I would recommend this ball to anyone. Compare to Burgundy Gryphon. BGP hook a bit less but BGP is smoother at break point due to being a particle ball. The Vendetta Particle is close to the UI. Both are strong ball for oil.

I drilled this ball right before Junior Gold nationals in Dallas, Texas. I ended up using this ball in two out of the three qualifiying squads. One of the squads was on proanvil and the other was new wood. The ball rolled awesome on both sport patterns on both surfaces. I didn't think that I could use the ball on the wood because of my slower speed, but it worked beautifully. Pin carry was not a problem either, I have no complaints in that department. I have it drilled with the pin to the left of my ring finger (I am left handed) and the cg kicked out and a weight hole to the left of my my. The ball rolls up really early, and that's what it is supposed to do. I have not tried it on a house pattern yet, but I am sure I will have plenty of area to work with. I saw a bunch of other quality players using this ball during JOG with much success. Jeff Mersch University of Central Florida<scr

I told myself about 2 years ago that I would never buy another brunswick bowling ball in my life. This ball has the same characteristics as the previous equipment they have produced over the past 5 years. Everything Brunswick advertises never lives up to there word. This will teach me to keep purchasing storm products ( roto grip also ) who make and can back up their words on the best balls on the market. The extreme xfactor is by far the most aggresive ball on the market today and will recover from just about anywhere. My advise to everyone is to never buy a Brunswick product.

I bowl in a sports shot league where this past week we had about 50 feet of the stuff and the ball reacted well with minimal speed. Ball worked well for 2 out of 4 games. Won't give a real violent reaction on heavy oil du to ball's nature. Will leave an occasional weird split when carrydown is present.Going to Junior nationals next week, will update!!!must have oil in the heads, if not don't even look at it!!!!!!!!! Sometimes hits like a sock, dosen't do the best when the lanes are spotty. However is the set-up ball only, can't be used the entire day, either the lanes or the ball won't permit it.
