Brunswick Ultimate Inferno Bowling Ball

(226 reviews) Write a Review

Reaction Characteristics The Ultimate Inferno is a heavy oil ball designed for bowlers who prefer Reactive over Particle coverstocks. The Ultimate Inferno uses the same core as the original Inferno but combines it with a solid 800-grit dull version of Activator coverstock. Compared to the original Inferno: -The Ultimate Inferno will match-up better to oily lane conditions, longer patterns and heavy carry down. -The Ultimate Inferno will match-up better for bowlers who struggle with excessively long ball reaction. -The Ultimate Inferno will match-up better on heavily oiled - over/under lane conditions. Brunswick’s new Activator Coverstock has quickly established a reputation for excellence in ball reaction, durability and longevity of ball reaction. On the lanes, Activator Coverstock is clean through the heads with excellent mid-lane recovery and a strong arcing back-end reaction that creates powerful pin action.

I order this ball from R&S Pro shop at Sierra Lanes in Fresno last Wednesday and picked it up Friday before my league in Lemoore started. When I show up Rich Shimoda talk to me about how I wanted it drill I told him I wanted to maximize the hook on this ball for heavy oil condition. So he gave me couple good option finally I decide to take his first suggestion a push the drill away from the CG area of the pin. The ball is 15lbs 3 oz 4 oz top weight with a 2-3 inch pin. After Rich drilled the ball I was on my way back to Lemoore with it to bowl on my Friday night league on base. I pull it out of the box and bowled a 247 the first game, 266 the second game, and a 174 the third game for a 687 series it should have been my first 700 series game, but I pull the ball on the first frame of the tenth frame of third game which gave a 174 oh well that was my fault. This was the first time that I actually pulled a ball out of the box and shot with it before practicing with it like I usually do.

This ball hits the pocket hard and leaves nothing in its path. it gets some great hook on it, you can miss your mark and somehow this ball seems to hit the pocket solidly. Babying the ball or cranking it isnt good however, just throw it out there and let it do most of the work. If you put it over the right mark i guarentee you that it will just destroy the pins. I dont know whether or not my former strike ball was a flip side wow and wasnt hooking much for me. But i must say that i truly love this ball, i would suggest anyone to buy one if they are serious about bowling well. At least try one of your buddies at first and if you dont like it then thats unfortunate you can buy a triple X or a total annihalation.

I bought this ball on a whim. I was able to get a good deal from a pro shop so I whent ahead and bought it. It was the best thing I could have done. This baby could do anything. If the lanes where slick, no problem just move right and BLAM!!!!! ten in the pit. Bowling a late league with dryer lane conditions, no problem move left and the ball will read the lane just as good as if you where bowling on a fresh shot. As long as you can put the ball in the right spot this baby will not dissapoint. If you happen to find yourself struggling this ball will allow you to miss. Miss in thats okay the ball goes very long and has a smooth arc. Pitch it a little and the ball will roll up with a smooth and furious motion killing the rack. This is the best ball I have ever thrown.

The ball started off hooking way to much for me to handle with all the revs that i have on our typical house shot with medium oil. I tried to give it a high gloss polish and on wooden lanes it worked like a charm. I took it to my high school bowling regional tournament and i placed 2nd overall in singles and i qualified with a 670 something...not too bad but i could have done better if i would have gotten spares...the ball itself worked very well i was playing middle arrow out to about 2nd and then as i went on a couple of months it just slowly stopped hooking. The ball itself is a sponge. This thing soaks up more oil than i have ever seen a ball soak up. I got it at 800 grit factory sand, and by about the 10th game i played with it, it looked like i had polished it quite a bit...and this was with using a microfiber towel that takes the oil out of the ball!!! Well i gave up on it for a little while and then i decided to try and get the oil out of the ball so i left it in the car

Very nice ball. i drilled it for maximum hook and late reaction. I think tyhat that is the best for heavy oil but if i get a burnt out track area, i shoot awesome! I can play a variety of ways like down and in, (not with this ball but with intense inferno) and a big looping action!! I bought this ball for that tournament and it also works well with the leauge shot!!! I am very happy with my purchase and i would recomend Bowlingballmall.com to be the site for your next ball!!!!!! If i could i would buy that ball 10 times so my game would improve 10 times better. Since i bought it , i have improved my average 10 pins a game!!

if you don't own this ball you must get one i used to throw storm and i still do when the shot calls for it but so far this ball will carry from just about anywhere i throw it . it sets well in the middle of the lane and if i go outside with it it comes screaming back and just obliterates the rack. i have mine polished so it goes a little longer and then snap. it is a truly unbelivable ball. I have owned brunswick in the past the sapphire zone when they first came out but this is the best one yet

I've always been a Brunswick guy. Speed Zones, Time Zones, Attack Zones, Zone HPs, Zone ProActives, all of them. I figured it was time for a new ball, and I got an Ultimate Inferno, and it seems that everyone is happy with this ball except me! I have had a few good games with it, but overall I can't stand it! I get more hook out of my Speed Zone! I just can't seem to be consistent with this ball. I was thinking of getting it plugged and re-drilled so I can get some kind of reaction out of it, because I'm getting literally NOTHING! I don't understand it, if anyone has a layout they'd like to share please let me know!

The only time I had trouble with my original Inferno was when the lanes were wet, this ball takes care of that problem and then some. I very seldom use my original Inferno now and thats not because it did not perform, its because this ball just keeps performing even after the lanes slow up some. If you have the right driller, this ball is all you need!! As close to perfect as you can get. I bowled on a fresh shot for an 8 games set and never had to change balls and only moved a couple boards twice! -----UPDATE----- On December 5, 2004 I shot a 300 with this ball and this was my fourth 300 using the Inferno line. The ULTIMATE bowling ball!!!!

This ball is the ultimate ball. I like that you can change the cover and not hurt the reaction of the ball. THIS BALL IS MEANT TO BE PLAYED WITH. Most people will buy a ball to do one certain thing. Well, not this line of stuff from brunswick. I like most of you that actually read this am a proshop rat, and average a respectable number. To date, this ball is the best I've ever used. when the pockets can open up a little, i'm gonna go buy another. The ball I am using now is drilled pin directly under the ring finger, and CG next to the thumb, paralell to the grip line. Please abuse this one, it can take it. i gaurantee it will pay off in the end.
