Brunswick Classic Zone Bowling Ball

Zone Classic features an inner core shape which is new, but familiar. Start with the classic Danger Zone shape, then stretch it laterally to create asymmetry. Keep stretching until you create a highly significant built in Preferential Spin Axis (PSA). Add the PSA locator pin and you have the new Zone Classic core, an Ultra Low RG design combining the proven image of Zone with Brunswick’s patented PSA core technology. Next add Activator Coverstock, the same coverstock used on the original Inferno, clean through the fronts, great mid-lane recovery, hard arcing backend, unprecedented durability. Factory finished with High Gloss Polish, the purple pearlized coverstock complements the Ultra Low RG Core to deliver an aggressive but forgiving ball reaction that matches up on medium-dry to medium-oily lane conditions.

Overall i gave this ball a good review,a 7 out of 10. cause it is fitting of it. This particular ball is the only non urethane Brunswick ball i have ever thrown and to tell you the truth, i am impressed. Even though this ball was heavily soaked in oil, probably due to not cleaning...it worked extremely well for me. I found it on the rack at my home center and threw 1 game with it after work..i shot a 200 on the dot (well the 4 opens were my bad). But i would recommend this ball to anyone looking for a straighter shot and excellent pin carry.<s

Like most of my equipment, I had this drille with Pin over Ring, with the CG kicked out to make it a little more aggressive. I Set this ball up to be my late transition or dry lane ball. It reacts very well on these conditions. However, if there is medium oil, the ball can tend to skid out and not make the turn. Great ball for late block runs (those 7th and 8th games) when the lanes get nasty. I redrilled it for stacked leverage to make it a little more agressive. Though it did seem to come up a fair bit more, it's safe to say that this will always be my light oil ball.

i did not buy this ball. i traded it because i bowl 2nd shift on one of my leagues. i just wanted sumthing with a little more length. this ball has good length, with a pretty nice move on the backend. this is a skid/flippy ball so if your not accurate or if you dont put a lot of hand in the ball stay away. this ball rolls the best when it can touch the dry early. if you bowl on a wet/dry pattern you better not pull this one in the oil b/c it will skate like you through it one ice. but if you like to move out really far and play in the dry, than this ball will be perfect. it never rolls out b/c of all the pearl, and hits like a ton of bricks if you get it to the pocket the right way. also if you bowl on alot of tournaments, this ball might be good on reverse blocks. i bowl in a sport shot league and they put out a reverse block a lot, so i move deep, (around 35-40) and keep it tight and it performs well. decent ball and if you can get one cheap try to do so.

The Classic Zone is a great all-purpose ball. 10 years ago I used to carry one ball and average 220. The ball I carried was the Danger Zone and it was the last Brunswick product that I purchased. Well, the Zone Classic is one of those special balls that you can take and score well with on most all but extreme conditions. What can I say? Smooth, clean through the heads, great length, consistent, superior transition from the dry, and great hitting power. The only condition I have struggled with this ball on is the EXTREME wet/dry shot. I'm talking heavy volumes of oil in the middle and toasted boards outside. The ball just doesn't cut it on heavy oil. Of course, it's not designed to do this but I tried to get it to work on this condition and just couldn't seem to get the hitting power at the pocket through the oil and I couldn't ride the oil line either as it just reacted too strong off the dry. What baffled me was that the ball 'appeared' to have a nice reaction, but would

This ball is a very nice rolling ball from brunswick. Mine has a 3-4 inch pin and a stacked drilling witha low weight hole. The ball goes very far down the lane and then breaks hard and does not stop until it hits the pins, then there is a problem....carry. I dont know if its me being used to my Lane #1's that carry the 10 all day or if its this ball that leavs them all day but i have a hard time getting it to fall. When using this ball i have to adjust differently then i do with my other balls, this ball does not absorb any oil, so i jsut pushes the oil down the lane, forcing me to change balls after about a game and a half if i want to play the same line. One last thing that i dont like about this ball is the color, it is a very solid color and i cannot see the rotation on the ball which is key for me because i use that to adjust. overall this is a good ball, especially for the price

i just bought this ball to replace my danger zone, and i haven't looked back since. it's rolls smooth off the hand with a nice late break down the lane with a finish that's unmathed thus far. i have a real deal as well, but this ball is definately my go to ball. if i'm struggling, i pull this ball out and shoot a line with it that's easy to find. it always finds a way to the pocket. i wish i had another ball just like this one, drilled to break earlier for the more oily conditions that exist out there in the world. for right now though, this ball has served me well, watch out for those lanes were it's really dry in teh backend. it'll take off on you and never look back till it slaps you in the face.

This ball has great versitility and is perfect for med to drier insides, such as a house shot or sport shot. If i got a brand new one i'd get it drilled to hook latter so that it doesnt hook in high like it sometimes tends to do. I think this is a good ball for a more experienced bowler that is looking for a more versitile ball in their arsinal. This is also a great ball to have in between a dry lane ball and a heavy oil ball. I got this ball to even out my line of bowling balls bestween my BVP punisher and my absolute inferno.

Overall this isn't a perfect ball, but its better than some of the other balls i've thrown. I use the red pin classic, but I like to stick to my blazing inferno compared to this ball. Two of my friends who have also purchased these have the same problem with the ball staying consistent on the lanes. We bowl on a house shot (seems to change to quickly) and found that it really isn't the ball for us. Maybe on a different type of shot this ball would prove usefull. I can't really complain, paid 50 dollars for the ball, so i didn't lose a lot.

I have 2 zone classic's now! my fisrt one just got beat up thats what happens after 200+ games. this ball has lead to an increase of my ave from 166 to 185 in just one season. I now have the strike zone and these two balls are a great combo. when the lanes dry I switch to the classic which I can play down and in on the 2nd arrow or move Left and roll it down the 4th arrow out to the 5 board this thing can cover a lot of lane! I highly recommend this ball to anyone looking to improve there game. I only have the green pin version. the red is a improved monster brusier (same cover stock) no over under reactions. just a strong all around ball that would be great for any bowler. I have my highest series with this ball and over 20 games of 250+. I liked this ball so much i bought a second one for later when the first one is dead!

Ball drilling: -1 inch pin. -Pin down at one o'clock -Pin in center of palm This ball has great legnth on a variety of shots. I was able to use this ball on 5 shots: 42 foot sport shot 29 foot sport shot and 3 different hosue shots. two of them on wood, one on synthetic. Must say this may be my new favorite ball, taking over my khameleon. The ball can get a little jumpy though if it is to dry of a shot, but it usually just needs to find a little oil down the lane. The ball also performs well with carry down, once it hits dry, it moves, and doesn't stop moving.

well this was a free ball that i wanted to be somewhat agressive but of course it wasnt it. ive had a green pin and now a red pin zone classic and both seem to do the samething....nothing at all. i dont understand why the zone classic wont move but i was thinking about knockin off some of the polish to see if that would help but im not sure about it. overall this ball seems like it would be great for those who have slower ball speeds and tend to have too many revs for most lane conditions<scrip

I am very impressed with this ball.I love the predictable reaction I get a very good skid flip reaction with great pin carry. This is the perfect match up on a typical house condition with or without carrydown. You must also give credit to it because it's easily fine tuned either sanded or polished as you all saw when Brad Angelo made the show in Medford with it.I'm very pleased with this ball and you should all be too!!! I am so pleased with the quality Brunswick has provided the even most competitive bowlers with.Truly a great company.

Liked it. Would buy one again. Nice action through the heads. I bought it factory finished and loved it out of the box. I find that keeping it clean and nicely polished is becoming a huge challenge. Doesn't like dry conditions at all - ball snaps like there's no tomorrow! Had mine drilled to be agressive and that it is - almost too agressive. I find that I get amazing action when I go brooklin! I've left a few too many 4-9 splits for my liking however! heheh I would recommend this ball to anyone who bowls in a house with all wood lanes and decks. Would like to try this ball on oily conditions to see how it would adapt and react.

Player Stats: Cranker: 430-450rpms Speed: 18mph at the Pins. Ball Specs: 15lbs, 2-3" pin, 3oz TW Drilling, Pin under Bridge, Psa under a little left of thumb, with X-hole slightly below axis. I drilled another Zone Classic to compliment my other Classic and give me a little more midlane read and smoother backend reaction on medium oil. This Classic revs up extremely quick, and has a very smooth continuous arc to the pins. It gives me an excellent read when the heads and mids are a little heavier, if there not, it revs a little too quick and hooks a little much in mids for my game. But that's why I have 2 Zone Classic's! However, the strong midlane read gives me an awesome look when the heads and mids a heavy but the backends are really hooking, thanks the smooth nature of the Activator Cover, with the modified Original Danger Zone low Rg core. I get a very smooth transition from oil to dry, without the ball being jumpy, giving me much better control on the backend. I a

I got this ball because I was looking for a benchmark ball;something to be the first ball out of my bag, and it would read how the lanes were, and to dictate to me the ball I should choose. I went the Awesome Kegel Training Center out in Lake Wales,Fl, and I was discussing my equipment, and I had my Super Charge-Heavy, Razor Wire-Benchmark/Medium,Stinger 2-Piece Low-Flare Pearl-Light, Spare Ball and a Big Hit-Dry. I was interested in my Razor Wire because it was supposed to be a Medium Oil ball, but it skidded way too much, and the instuctor Stephen Padilla agreed(he had one) so we took out some catalog books and I happen to see a Zone Classic on the bowling rack as we were looking. So he said that Zone Classic would be like an Original Inferno, with a Danger Zone core.. SO i was like nice..He asked me if I wanted it, and I said YEA! So I took it home, and drilled it all up( BYMYSELF! I WAS SOO PROUD OF MYSELF!) Its very good at Reading lanes, and has great backend. Its sure to be an

When I first saw the specs for this ball I was really excited to punch one up. Its been a while since I drilled something with an asymetrical core in it. My first session with this ball at the Tournament of Americas down in Miami. Right out the box I shot 775 for the first three and ended up winning the singles event. The roll was just sweet. I was really impressed. This ball clears the heads well so that it can handle a lack of head oil. I dont normally use this ball on a house shot, I end up leaving too many weak sevens. Great for flatter patterns JEFF MERSCH -UCF Bowling-

This ball is the sh*t, Period. As long as I kept the ball going along the right side of the lane, it'd find it's way back to the pocket. Oh, and it just crushed the pins. Just bought the ball off ebay a couple days ago (won it for just $56), after a recommendation from a teamate in my Sunday League. I'll just say that I earned that money times four back in pots earlier today (Friday) in my first 3-game series using the ball. Got me out of my recent slump (saw my 205 avg drop 8 pins over the past 2 weeks) as I bowled 258 - 230 - 193 = 681. I can't give specs or drilling info as I'm no expert in regards to these things. I do know that the ball is well worth the $102 that most of the online proshops are offering it for.

For quite some time now I've been very skeptical about using Brunswick equipment. The only Brunswick balls I have had up to this point were the Regal Quantum (great ball) and the Danger Zone (the best ball Ive ever thrown). Up to this point Ive been keeping up with brunswick and they just werent making product that offered the legnth of their older products without sacrificing some hitting power. When I heard that this ball combined that Activor Coverstock with the old reliable Danger Zone core I couldnt resist buying this ball. Out of the box is was a bit aggressive so I polished it up. Ever since then this ball has been an unstoppable force. The amount of shots I carry and the messengers that come flying across the lanes are amazing. If someone is looking for something that goes longer on a medium-light oil pattern and hits like a truck you should seriously consider this ball<sc

Bowler Specs: Lefty Rev Rate: 450 Speed: 17-18mph Ball Specs: 15lbs 3” Pin, Drilled with the Pin above the Bridge and the PSA locater 2” left of the thumb. Could this ball possibly be better then my original Inferno’s....I think it is. Even though I didn’t think that was possible. The Zone Classic is kinda like an upgraded Inferno, one of the things I didn’t like about the original Inferno was how early it started hooking, which forced me to put it away early a lot. The Zone Classic gets better length then the original Inferno even know it also has a low RG, It doesn’t “rev” as quickly. This means I can keep it in play longer without having to make a huge jump on the lane to find more oil. The Classic still has the lane smoothing ability due to the Activator cover, which means it won’t jump of the dry like other pearls. And is great for wet/dry patterns. I also like the backend reaction better then the original Inferno, it’s more angular, more of a hockey stick shap

this ball really isnt that great, but the only real reason i like it is because i will be able to play straighter up like i enjoy doing. im not really sure how anyone could hook this ball because it seems like it isnt really mad to do much. i used the most aggresive drilling. the problem might be that it catches a hole due to my high track. ah well i guess once i learn how to turn the ball again i this ball will hook a little more. really dont know though. maybe after a few more games this ball will start to hook. well dont know what else to say. PRICE WAS WONDERFUL

Very nice roll the middle, big turn on backend, hits like a tank better than the old Zones, Dry lanes you will need to adjust your track and throw this ball harder, seems to hit from any angle very good pin action .House shot of 34ft buffed to 38 ft this ball with the activator coverstock will destroy racks of pins. Drilled 1 inch off of ring finger ,cg almost in palm with psa below and right of thumb . This is the first new ball purchased in at least 10 years always buy used buzzsaws. Would highly recommend the Zone Classic for any style of bowler. Overall this is a great bowling ball for the dollar.

This one is so good I hate to review it. No point in letting your competitors in on your little secret! As good as the original Inferno is – this one tops it. For many of us, the original Inferno was a bit too “early”, and would lose energy on some medium oil conditions, due to the low RG core and strong Activator coverstock. I also had that problem with the Inferno whenever I was trying to cover a lot of boards. The ball was so strong it would use up too much energy in the midlane, leaving too little pop in the back. When the lane conditions would allow me to use it, there was absolutely nothing in my bag better than the Inferno. Sadly though, I was unable to use it much in my home center, as the oil volume and pattern I usually face is more in tune with a polished Fire Quantum (or Bruiser) on some days and a mild Monster Red/Black pearl on most days. I don’t have the ball speed and revs required to sling and zing like the young-pups. Ever since the Time & Warp Zones came out, I was

This is another ball I drilled up at the Mini-Eliminator in Vegas. Drilled this ball with the pin under the ring finger and the CG kicked out a little, with the mass bias just to the right of the thumb. Had to drill a small (but deep) weight hole and the finger holes are very deep to take out the finfer weight. I bowled the first squads during the morning qualifying and this ball needed the fresh oil. I am a cranker and could swing this ball coast to coast or go outside and play the track area, with a little more ball speed. Hook potential is very similar to the original Inferno, but the ball reaction is a little different. This ball will get a little farther down the lane and snap harder in the back - compared to the original Inferno. It is factory polished out of the box, but I had to polish it a little more with the Brunswick factory polish. Should be a great tournament ball.<
