Brunswick Fuze Purple Pearl Bowling Ball

(10 reviews) Write a Review

The Fuze Purple Pearl, featuring the XLR-G2 coverstock (Extra Length Reactive-Generation 2), provides cleaner front-ends with more length than aggressive Reactive or Proactive (particle) coverstock balls. Excellent traction in carry down results in a strong and continuous back-end reaction. Combined, these characteristics make the Fuze Reactive Purple Pearl less sensitive to broken down heads while maintaining excellent recovery at the breakpoint as the lane condition continues to break down. High Rev rate players will find the Fuze Purple Pearl matches up well on medium-oily to medium dry lane conditions, while players with more average RPM rates will find it best suited to medium to drier conditions.

The Brunswick Fuze Purple Pearl is an excellent choice when your medium-light ball is flipping too much on the backend and your dry lane ball either is not getting good carry or just still can't hook enough. This Fuze has a late breakpoint and usually starts it hook in the same place unless there was carrydown. I like the fact that it has a low differential, .023, but still has a medium RG so it creates mid lane making the ball very predictable. This reacts the way I originally wanted my Blazing Inferno to react but the Blazing had a strong cover which made it a better choice for medium-light oil. The Fuze had a weaker cover, not mild but very close, so it would do much better in light oil by not over snapping on the backends. I do find though, due to the RG, the Fuze will create to much mid lane and start hooking too early when there is virtually no oil. Do not try and use this on anything more than light oil, it will just skid and not create friction. My thoughts on this ball,

Love the way it does not overreact on dry backends. Keep trying to replace it with another ball, but I keep posting consistantly higher scores on my light-to-medium oiled home lanes. Also tried the hammer Pearl Blade, and Columbia ICON2 with good success on this condition, but they could not consistently outperform the Fuze. Crankers will probably hate this ball, but if you are a deliberate stroker, you should love this ball on drier lanes. Because it hooks continously and predictably time after time, you can score with this ball. It will not impress everyone on the lanes with a dazzling sharp hook, but it will impress your opponent when he looks up at the end of the game and realizes he's on the short end, and he'll wonder how you did it with a ball that seems so benign going down the lane, but just continues to knock 'em down.

I hadnt used a Brunswick ball in quite some time, i got this ball for my birthday about a year ago. I had it drilled up so it go really long. I hated the way it reacted so i had it re-drilled to hook up earlier but so i could only use it on dry conditions. I bowl in tounreys where i have to travel around the state, so its a great ball on the second block games. I can rarely throw the ball up the boards, i usually have to play about a 10 board swing with the Fuze. This ball has been really great for me and im in the process of pondering about getting either the new Eliminator or the Inferno.

best b-ball i've ever drilled and i've drilled a lot of them(lol} my 2 fav b-balls in the past were the danger zone and then the sage quantum{ which i still would love to have, unfortunately it cracked when i left in the car for two days. the prple prl is really clean thru the heads but not quite as strong as the sage on the back end, but still strong enough to go in to the 4th and 5th arrow and carry out the corners w/o the over / under reaction i got w/ a x-zone. thanks brunswick, good job<scr

I have it drilled with the pin right next to my ring finger and the cg not kicked out very much. Great overall ball. Works well on many different conditions. I personally love pearlized coverstocks, so this ball seemed like a good fit for my aresenal. This ball also does not overreact. Very little over/under reaction. On a regular house condition it did not carry very well but I hit the pocket very consitantly. The ball hit very hard also. The pins really get some air time when I am throwing this ball. This is truely one of brunswicks best balls in the past year.

great ball for the leugue bowler ball reacts consistently even after lanes start to breakdown the type of ball you can throw all night with little adjustment goes long and comes in hard every time versitile drilling for all types of bowlers easily controlable for average or high rev players cleans with ease and stays clean i clean mine about once amonth with around 12 games per week ball can be thrown down and in or high angle out and reacts beutiful every time doesn't seem to rev up to early like some of brunswick other balls i would recomend this ball to anyone who enjoys bowling raised my average from 179 to 198

GREAAAAAAAAT!!! This ball does everything it's supposed to!!! I can play down and in or swing the ball 15 boards. This is my favorite ball and when dies out I will definently get another. I have well over 250 games on it and all i do is clean one a month and it still reacts great!!!Well the only thing that I could dislike about this ball is NOTHING!!! There is nothing wrong with it that I can think of. It fits my game perfectly. I don't know why other people wouldn't like this but it wouldn't seem as good of a ball for a cranker, I.E. I'm a stroker/Tweener.

I'm not a big Brunswick fan, but this ball is one of the best balls that I have ever thrown. I highly recommend this ball to anyone that wants to get length on the ball and hard hitting power. I've read one of the reviews about this ball on this web site and they were very negative about this ball. I wouldn't go by only one opinion because this ball works great if it's drilled right. This is a great ball and I'm really glad that I bought it, my average has gone up since I've been using this ball. I had this ball drilled for maximum length and It goes down the lane really far, even on dry conditions. I've even thrown it out wider than I wanted and it comes back with ease. As long as you have enough hand this ball will do what its supposed to do. This ball is worth every penny and then some. A must for every bowler who wants to throw big scores . Keith (Midland, MI)

Pin out 3"-Top wt close to 3 oz-Drilled pattern #1 with axis hole. First game out of box was 268 with first 6 in a row. On right conditions this ball hits extremely hard with nice even arc.Nice complement to Trauma Recovery and Trauma ER. Pull this ball inside and it holds, let it out a little too much and it tracks back to the hole. I normally stand 29-30 and shoot 17 out to 6 bd. this ball holds it's energy until ripping the pins apart. Light hits no problem High trips are common. Only pins I've left have been 8's and 9's with an occasional 10-that's bowling.

Ball Specs- 16lbs., 3.5" pin, 2.5 oz top weight. Drilled ball with pin @ 1:30 cg in palm(1st time) which is supposed to give it length and good back end. The ball never did anything I wanted it to I even put a negative weight hole in it for more length and more back end but it never changed. I redrilled another one with a more aggressive drilling and no luck here - a big waste of money(at least I got one for free). No one else I have ever talked to has liked this ball. There is a reason why none of the pro shops in my area carry these in stock anymore- The core/ cover combo is terrible it never had any back end pop. This was my 4th Brunswick ball and the reason why I will never own one again. Ironically my average has went up 10 pins since I got my wake up call and got all new equipment.
