The Fuze Detonator features a new Proactive/Particle coverstock that uses the Raging Red Fuze’s Aggressive Reactive (AR) coverstock as the base. The AR material has been specially formulated to retain the characteristic Brunswick Aggressive Reactive reaction to the outside dry boards and backends of typical league conditions, while at the same time providing increased mid-lane traction in the heavier oiled sections of the lane. Adding Brunswick’s patent pending Proactive/Particle Technology to this AR base creates a high-load coverstock that provides excellent traction in the oiled areas of the lane, while generating a strong, smooth, even arc off the dry boards. This combination results in a high hook potential ball that is forgiving of shots both inside and outside of target on typical league conditions. Like all Fuze balls the Detonator features Brunswick’s Geometrically-Balanced Core Concept, for enhanced mid-lane recovery and controllable breakpoints. The Detonator’s high tr

The fuze detonator was suppose to be a great ball for heavy oil. But, in heavy oil, the ball barely moves. It is good on medium-heavy oil and possibly a fresh medium shot with carrydown but that is it. When there is too much oil the detonator struggles to rev up in the mid lane. When the lanes break down, the detonator can't do anything not even go brooklyn. It is because of the proactive coverstock it has and the high RG. High RG balls can't do anything in heavy oil I don't understand the concept of these high RG aggressive proactive/particle coverstocks. If the RG was lower than maybe it will be good in heavy oil. This is probably why proactive coverstocks discontinued so fast. I do not recommend this ball for anyone.

i got this ball new. with a 2-3 in. pin and a 1-2oz top weight. this ball did hook a lot but for so much hook i dident understand how i kept leaving some weak 5's and some 7 pins i was totally hitting the pocket and the pins were flying all over but the 5 was still there. and when i did go light i left some real cool splits (that there was no way i could pick up). I left a 2-8-10 and that was real discusting. but othere wise this ball is good i struck 80% (when it was flush in the pocket) of the time so i gave it a 8 out of 10 makes sence to me.

This is a great ball I recomend it for any one who is looking for a heavy oil ball. This ball has impressed me. I have not seen another ball like it. It hooks tremendously on no matter what lane types and oil conditions i throw it on. And i play many types of shots, since im on the traveling team and i bowl in scholarship tournaments around the state. I recomend this ball over the mutant any day. And my friend has the freak out and throws basically the line i do and i can out performe him any day.

I have the pin under the ring finger with the pin stacked below it with a fairly small weight hole. This ball gets great length and a huge backend reaction. Still amazed at how much this ball flares. I get a good 7" of flare from it. I can use this ball from medium to heavy oil. I can usually end up throwing this ball over 4th arrow on medium oil, I just have to keep my speed up to get the ball to the pocket. The only problem with throwing this ball on medium oil, is sometimes I'll end up having too much entry angle and I'll end up leaving a solid 8 pin (I am left handed). As for heavy oil, this ball is the best. I can usually end up throwing it between 2nd and 3rd and it will start flaring at about 40 ft and will usually carry very well. I got this ball in December 2002, and I've heard people having their detonators dying on them after 50 or 100 games or so. I usually clean my detonator after every three game (I forget from time to time though) with Rev-It ball cleaner, and

don't buy this ball if you're looking for raw and unmatched hook, especially if you're a stroker, this ball just wont live up to the desired performance.this ball is more of a med-heavy oil ball it wont match up t a trakc freak or even sme pearlized particles balls on the market,i guess whats probably why brunswick discontinued it.but if you bowl on a house shot and know ur alley this would be a good ball for you considering the roll is great and it almost never overeacts and for the most part if u tug it a few boards it will usually be forgiving

I loved this ball when it still had life in it. I played the 3rd arrow with this ball and it had great recovery when I missed left of target. The Detonator has a really nice strong arc too it. Only part that sucks about this ball is that it died after less than 50 games. I had it backed and resurfaced, but niether gave the ball any kind of reaction. I also heard some horror stories about the same thing happening to other people with this ball. So it sucks. If your a bowler who throws about 18-20 mph, with plenty of revs and switchs balls every month or so, this is for you. Also, works good as a spare ball once it dies.

Great Ball. Nice for 300 games if you have the right lane condition. If not, you won't bowl good unless your good at changing your style. Be careful with this. It packs a mean punch. You almost never get a messenger for the 10 pin. Doesn't leave splits unless it hits the middle. Very fogiving if you throw it wrong. Hits pocket very often. Good bowling ball for tournaments. Bad for 10 pin shots. Ok for 7 pin shots. Nice hook to the ball even in sticky lanes. Good ball overall. Gets you were you need to be. Hard to bowl in dry lanes. Easy to get Brooklyn shots.

Unfortunately I have with this ball very mixed feelings .On the one hand am it a bambe am however after short time practically no more to use .Unfortunate for a so expensive ball of such a large and well-known am .Ashamed you it men of brunswick...I will back my Money ;-) How can it actually be, which a company such one ()mist to manufacture can do partial? Balls are verflucht expensively and should one stay to keep longer than 6 months...I will have to write probably times a complaint brunswick.. I will write probably times a complaint brunswick must perhaps get I a new? -)

so far i cant complain. my first shot the ball took off and picked the 7 pin. once i adjusted i was able to hang it on the left gutter till about 5 feet before the pins and then it buried itself in the pocket. i noticed the ball does not like speed, i had to keep it between 15 and 16 miles an hour. anything more and it slid too long before rolling....a little less and i was hitting the right side pocket. so far i cant complain. it hits like a truck and creates the craziest pin action ive seen so far. i missed the pocket a couple times and somehow the ten pin took out the head pin.....in flight.

This is a cool ball. I love the name and you will atract lots of attention if you have any revs at all!! I love this ball in oil it just diggs in so well in the back end but manages a very smooth front end. This has to be the most balanced proactive ball I have ever used. However I have to say that with league conditions, this ball is a bit too mutch for a cranker like me. It will over react pretty bad if given the chance to. I think that if you are having trouble in the oil or just getting the ball to hook this ball could be for you.

This ball is too touchy and unpredictable. As long as you get the ball rolling pretty early, then you'll be ok. There has to be a certain shot out there for the ball to be really consistent. It can be predictable at times, until the shot changes and adjustments have to be made. This ball has to be cleaned more often that most balls, but even that didn't seem to help it after it had some games on it. I sold mine and got the eliminator, which does what the detonator as supposed to, and more. I had a better reaction with this ball when it was polished up.

15lbs pap 4 3/8 over 1/8 down, RH tweener, medium speed, medium revs drilled the ball 75 x 3 3/8, pin even with fingers, 1/2+ side, 0 finger-thumb There are definitely better choices for oil balls than this was. The ball would roll out, and it hit a bit weak. Had a hard time clearing the heads. Definitely a big hooker though! I recently redrilled the ball a lot weaker, and found better hit, with the ball clearing the heads better, and not rolling out so bad. Pin + CG stacked, pin above fingers I'd probably steer away from this ball when recommending it to a customer.

This ball is great on typical league conditions as it will hook smoothly off of dry outside boards. The ball packs a real punch when it hits although it does cause weird pin action on occasion that results in splits from perfect pocket shots. It is a great ball for a player that puts medium revs on the ball as it has a high hook potential. It is possible to sand it to hook more, but I haven't tryed it because i haven't found a house where I ever needed the ball to hook more! I only hope the new Fuze Proactive ball scheduled to come out in November builds upon the design of this ball! P.S. - I didn't know the actual grit of the ball surface but Brunswick's website says it's 35-Micron Trizact.

This is a very picky ball. It is very very picky. You have to have the perfect lane conditions. If you do, I'm telling you this ball will always get you 600 series and above. If the lane conditions are not just right, this ball is a nightmare to adjust to. If you throw hard like me, with medium revs, then I hope your lanes are usually heavy/medium oiled. If you have extremely heavy oil, slow it down a bit, and good luck. If you have dry lanes, SELL THE BALL. The pin action is pretty predictable for a proactive. They bang hard to the back, so don't expect no lucky strikes. <sc

Can we say LITERALLY EXPLOSIVE?! When my little brother got this ball a little over a month ago, I was very impressed by the incredible power and pin action it displayed. Well last week, my dad was feeling downright generous and experimental, and got me a Fuze Detonator. I'm practically in love with this ball...my first two or three games were not so hot with it. But then, I bowled a 193, and then a 227 (Featured a double, a goose egg-spare conversion that had the most beautiful messenger I ever had (A pin slooooowly and barely got the five pin down before the sweep came.), and a four bagger.)! And the fun did not stop there...in league the next day, I bowled a 155, 159, AND a 195, which featured a turkey and double. Obviously, I still need to work with my Detonator more, but I'm already loving the results I've had thus far... Warning: A strong approach and good controllable speed are highly recommended in handling this load of dynamite. ___________________________________________

I think I made the right deal on the ball. it has a very predictable hook. Had it way out on a few (close as gutter as I want to get) and came back ,left the 10 but sure could of been worse. Had the ball drilled to roll early , it still had a hard snap down deep with the oil carried down. Not a good ball for med to light oil. The big cranker on the team was also impressed with the action, I see another one on the team soon. Over all I believe this is the ball I've been looking for in heavy oil
