AMF Titan Bowling Ball

(10 reviews) Write a Review
In a recent news bulletin, AMF 300 announced the arrival of Titan, its latest mid-price ball. Sources say this ball is designed for medium oil lanes. AMF's expert R&D team have taken proven core and maxed out its differential to .041 to perform with a stronger roll. They also lowered the RG to 2.473. And with pearlized Super-Flex coverstock, Titan displays ultimate control. Word on the street is this is a perfect one-two punch when matched up with AMF's Valor/P Tour

Got this ball knowing that it had the columbia coverstock on it and had always liked that. Also knew it had a derivative of the pulse series weightblock and also liked that. Sadly this hybrid turned out to be an inbred for me Ball was drilled pin under bridge and cg shifted right, ending with 3/4 oz finger and 1/2 oz positive side, no X-hole needed. The TITAN was NOT what I expected. I was looking for the patented pearl skid/flip reaction that I had become accustomed to from columbia, but NO, this thing didn't want to skid and actually read the lane almost immediately. Even when I did get it through the heads, it read the midlane too hard and would start its hooking action before I wanted it too. Couldn't keep it on the right hand side of the rack. For a pearl ball, this thing sure didn't ACT pearl, at least for me, anyway. It wasn't skid/snap at all, just read, hook, and roll early. Actually didn't even seem like a pearl cover at all. Was able to use it on

Well i just got this ball off of a guy i bowl with and he traded it to me and i gave him my ebonite TPC Shooter because it didnt really move for me and he said that the TITAN was too aggressive for him. I was happy to trade with him and boy was i a happy camper. Over all this ball is pretty average though i gave it 8 pins in the rating. I play this ball with a slight down and in shot but i can stand a lil more left and then throw it out. The way its drilled it goes some what long and then has a strong roll to the pocket but when the lanes start to dry out then it gets a lil snappy and i then put it away. I really like this ball and im glad i traded the shooter for such a quality ball.<s

My Titan is a 4 1/2 by 4 label drill with the cg below my ring finger & CG at 5:00. The ball easily slides through dry heads, strong mid lane roll, and punishing hook through the pins. Great carry on pocket hits; it flys the pins low & hard. Ialways clean and polish the Titan to retain the clean look through the heads. I have used mine for over six months, and it is still a tremendous ball on light or dry lanes,a nd you can play it up teh boards on oiler conditions. This ball can really open up second shift lane conditions; I was able to lay down at the 20 and send the Titan to the 5 and back with tremendous carry & no loss of power. Again, thanks to Jerry Francomano of Texas Station for the tremendous drill. This ball is a perfect complement to the Maximum Velocity.

I picked this ball up for 50 bucks shipped and I can honestly say that was the best deal I have ever gotten, not for the price, but the quality, the roll, the hitting power...geesh this ball is a striking machine once lined up. It rolls well on drier lanes and if I move just a few boards right,it rolls on heavier oiled lanes, very, very versitile. I have always favored AMF and Ebonite and I am glad AMF keeps putting out quality balls and not pumping out new balls every day for the heck of it...thanks AMF! *Update* Oct 15 -16,2005 I won my 3rd Team Shoot out title,I averaged 227 for 10 games with it. my team was as follows....we got 425.00 a man. D - Jim Decker C - Dave Monroney B - Rick Rogers A - Paco Hoopingarner

this ball its very hard to control sometimes goes to long and others not and hit very very weak hits like a polyester ball ..yes it hooks and rolls good but its very poor at heavy oil lanes and in medium to heavy oil i recomended more the rule or the gp2 or also the back yard bully for those condition but realy realy desapointed for this amf ball its awful in color but i still saying this ball rolls ad hook very nice maybe if they put a harder cora to a better hit the ball wil be one of the best

This ball is good, actually very good, my 1st series in the 590's in months. It did take a few games to warm up to. This ball is a skid/flip monster. I love it, if you have the chance to buy it, go for it, thinking about one for my girlfriend, she could use something that isnt over agressive. This ball does not over react alot, moves nicely. Very controllable, great for carrydown but not for heay oil patterns, just keep it down and in, if you must use it in the wet stuff. Great ball on the burnt heads. Amf's victory and victory spt did not impress me, infact there now closet space but this ball is an Amf god, dont expect to hear that coming from a hammerhead very often.

Ball has great control and does what it is supposed to. Start to make move about 45 ft down lane and all I have to do is hit withing 10 boards i have that much room!!! This ball does hook more than I expected so if it starts to hook to much put it away. I only have two games on this ball and around five games of practice and it hasn't dissapointed. I'm a 185 ave bowler and i have rolled in league a 195 and 220 i have a feeling that my average will jump throwing quality equipment that plays to my game.

DRILLED THIS ONE UP WITH MY USUAL LAYOUT, OVER THE LABEL, CG IN MY PALM, PIN NEGATIVE, BELOW MY MIDDLE FINGER. WENT RIGHT TO LEAGUE WITH IT AND STARTED WITH 279, 207 (2 POCKET SPLITS) AND ENDED WITH 268 (FRONT 7, STONE 9, DOUBLE, RING 10). BALL REALLY IS EXTREMELY READABLE, GREAT THROUGH THE FRONTS WITH A CONTROLLED AND READABLE BREAKPOINT. NOT TOO SNAPPY, BUT NOT WEAK BY ANY STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION. THE ONLY THING I NOTICED WITH THIS BALL WAS YOU CAN'T PLAY STRAIGHT UP THE OIL LINE, YOU MUST CATCH A LITTLE BIT OF DRY AND YOU HAVE A MONSTER ON YOUR HANDS. HIT...FANTASTIC, THIS BALL, LIKE THE OTHER AMF BALLS I HAVE DRILLED JUST FLAT OUT HITS HARD. 2 NINE PINS TONIGHT AND THAT IS NOT CHARACTERISTIC TO MY STYLE, THE BALL IS A MONSTER WHEN IT HITS THE HOLE. I THINK THAT ALL OF THE AMF BALLS I HAVE DRILLED THIS WEEK HIT HARDER THAN ANY OTHER BALLS ON THE MARKET RIGHT NOW, I AM GLAD I HAVE JOINED STAFF WITH THEM, GREAT BALLS.

Beginning weight: 15 lb. 3 0z. 3" pin 3 oz. top Bowler specs: Medium-high rev player (400-425 rpm) Ball Speed-17.3-17.7 MPH Axis Tilt-45 degrees Played over third arrow, maybe 16, to around the fifth or sixth board, trying to keep it from going out of bounds. Condition type: THS, out of bounds at five, oiled to 36", buffed to 45', fresh backends. Drilling specs: 4X4 No weight hole needed ending imbalances 3/4 oz. finger, 5/8 oz. side. First, on behalf of all humans that thought AMF was dead, I apologize. Columbia's help on this piece of equipment is outstanding. Ball revs up clean through the heads with a very nice, pronounced, predictable move at the breakpoint. This ball is VERY similar to the Emerald Buzzsaw C/2 or Silver Diamond, but at a fraction of the initial cost. After alternating shots with a new Columbia Bully the first game(221) of courtesy week this afternoon, went 267-279 for 767 not having touched a ball since I shot 300 with my Uranium

When I decide to purchase this ball is because of this ball has very outstanding color combination & popular core design(simular with Columbia Piranha Retro). After drilled this ball as label leverage & used on midium lane condition. This moves great!!Much more better than I expected... You may have one in your arsenal. The reaction of Titan will beyond the price tag.Only be aware do not use on heavy oil lane except you are high rev player. For stroker or tweeker,it is quite enough to cover most of the normal lane conditions with now a days oil patterns. Thanks,AMF 300.You provide a nice selection for all bowlers.
