AMF King Cobra Bowling Ball

(2 reviews) Write a Review
This small volume 2-piece construction makes this ball even arcing and very controllable on even the most overreacting lanes. The King Cobra has medium hook and flare potential and works best on medium oil.

As I stated I learned to bowl with this ball. If you can find one it is good for a starting bowler. You get great pin action. Granted it is very unforgiving if you miss your mark, but it teaches starting bowlers how to hit thier mark. I used it for 5 years before I broke down and bought me five new balls. I bought a AMF Whiplash Pearl, Brunswick Ultimate Inferno, Hammer Faball Wheel, Columbia Bully, and a Hammer Faball Red Razor. I still keep my King Cobra around though because it is nice to have Old Faithfull around.

I got this ball when it was first introduced a few years back. This ball seemed to have a lot of hype behind it, but that faded quickly. The ball had a nice look to it and reved up well, although hit was lacking. The AMF urethane cobra;s were outstanding balls in their time, but this one did not live up to that. The hit of this ball was pretty flat, the only people I saw have much success with this ball were extremely heavy handed. By the standards when it came out I would give it a 7, using today's standards it is a weak 5.
