Roto Grip Gremlin Tour X Bowling Ball
The legend grows, but the footprint gets more precise. Roto Grip is proud to introduce the Gremlin TOUR-X, a ball designed specifically for those who demand "professional-grade motion" without the unpredictability.
When the lanes get tough and the original Gremlin is a bit too "wild," the TOUR-X steps in to provide the control, predictability, and punch you need to stay at the top of the leaderboard.
Engineering the "Tour" Motion
We didn't just tweak the original; we re-engineered the DNA of the Gremlin series to favor control and versatility.
- The Rondure™ TOUR-X Core: By meticulously adjusting the densities of the original Rondure™ MaxD Core, we’ve lowered both the RG and the Differential. This creates a more stable, centered energy displacement that prevents the ball from overreacting at the breakpoint.
- V-R1™ Hybrid Coverstock: This proven hybrid shell offers the perfect "middle ground" traction. It provides enough teeth to handle oil while maintaining the cleanliness needed to clear the front of the lane.
- 4000-Abralon® Finish: Sanded to a smooth 4000-grit, the TOUR-X offers a matte finish that reads the mid-lane early enough to be predictable, but late enough to retain maximum energy for the pocket.
Why the Gremlin TOUR-X?
In the modern game, "more hook" isn't always the answer—better hook is. The Gremlin TOUR-X is built for the competitive bowler who needs a ball that blends the wet and the dry. Expect a medium-flare pattern that keeps your transitions smooth and your carry high.
The Bottom Line: If you loved the shape of the original Gremlin but want a more disciplined, "Tour-ready" version for league nights or tournament blocks, the Gremlin TOUR-X is your new go-to.
- Color: Smoke/Velvet/Ink
- Coverstock: V-R1 Hybrid Reactive
- Weight Block: RONDURE™ TOUR-X CORE
- Factory Finish: 4000 Abralon

Roto Grip Gremlin Tour-X – Ball Review (Tweener Perspective)
As a right-handed tweener with a PAP of 1" up and 3.5" over, about 14 mph ball speed, and roughly 330 RPM, the Roto Grip Gremlin Tour-X has become a very reliable option in my league bag. I primarily bowl on a 40' house shot on synthetic lanes with built-in friction, and this ball matches up extremely well with that environment. The first thing I noticed with the Gremlin Tour-X is how smooth and predictable the motion is. It gets through the front of the lane clean without burning up early, but it still reads the midlane strong enough to avoid skidding too far. For my speed and rev rate, the reaction shape is a controlled arc rather than a sharp flip, which helps keep the ball in play even when I miss slightly right or left. On a typical house shot, I can start around the second arrow and let the ball make a smooth move toward the pocket. As the lanes transition, the Gremlin Tour-X still retains plenty of energy, allowing me to move a little deeper without losing continuation through the pins. What really stands out is how well this ball blends the wet/dry conditions that house shots tend to create. It doesn’t overreact when it touches friction, and it doesn’t quit when it sees a little extra oil. The result is a very confidence-inspiring ball motion that makes it easier to repeat shots.

Gremlin Tour Review
Layout: 4 1/2 x 4 x 4 1/2 Surface: 4000 Abralon Rev Rate: 470 Tilt: 13* The brand-new Gremlin Tour-X is the newest "tour" ball in the Roto Grip lineup since the Tour Dynam-x. What sets this one apart is the new Rondure Tour-X core. This core provides the same low RG but higher differential and intermediate differential compared to previous tour balls. This provides a little more overall hook and backend compared to the Tour Dynam-X. The core is complemented by the new V-R1 Hybrid coverstock which helps this ball get very good continuation with the ability to blend the lanes more. I was able to test this on a fresh 43ft typical house shot. On the fresh, this ball did nothing but blend the lane out so well. Ample continuation while controlling the lane was the key to its success. I was able to be straighter up the lane due to its weaker core and strike fairly easily. As the front started to go, I started to see some early hook. As I moved in to about 20 with my feet, the coverstock came alive creating easy length and a very continuous down lane motion. It had no trouble turning the corner and going through the pins properly. As I had to get into 25+ with the ball, the weaker strength of the ball started to show and I had to slow down my ball speed to get it to hook enough in the oil. When I was able to slow down enough, my ball continued through the pins fairly well. If I got firm or missed into the oil, it struggled to get the corner out or hook enough. All of the reactions were fairly expected. Adjusting the surface to 2000 grit would allow me to get further left in the oil more successfully. On sport patterns, I would need to bring the surface down to get more traction in the higher volume of oil. I recommend this ball for anyone who is looking to blend the lanes better, get rid of that wet/dry reaction or just a weaker controllable ball for the fresh. The continuation of the ball will allow many styles to use this ball with ease. Compared to the Storm Ion Pro Solid at its Power Edge finish, I saw more midlane traction out of the Gremlin Tour-X. To me the Gremlin felt slightly stronger and not as fast response to friction.

Roto Grip Gremlin Tour-X Coverstock: VR-1 Hybrid Reactive Finish: 4000 Grit Abralon Core: Rondure Tour-X (14 pd) RG: 2.52 Differential: 0.034 Int Diff: 0.010 Layout: 4 x 5 ¾ x 3 ¼ - 2LS Layout Extras: 2 1/8 Finger Depth, “X” - 4 ½ D and 1 inch Left Tester: PAP 6 1/2 R, 1 1/4 D Review: The Gremlin Tour-X features the VR-1 Hybrid Reactive that offers a more traction footprint on the lane. The Rondure Tour-X Core enhances control and smoothness for a ball in the HP3 line. The ball’s intent is to create a ball motion not readily seen in the SPI line of bowling balls. In comparison to my Roto Grip Tour Dynam-X the Gremlin Tour-X has a touch easier time getting through the front part of the lane. Also, the Gremlin Tour-X is better balanced with it’s OOB finish for those that do not like to mess with surfaces. Rolling on a few THS patterns and on Highway to Hell this ball really does have a great balance of length and control. In my opinion, you’ll be able to stay more up the boards on the lane and be able to use various hand positions to make the ball do exactly what you want to do very easily. For me, I really desire options for sport and league patterns where control is the key, yet I want to move away from urethane due to its earlier characteristics where a lot of traffic may happen. I feel the Gremlin Tour-X might be that option over bigger balls like the RST Hyperdrive or even the Hyperdrive pearl due to my ball speed where big asyms get offline for me quickly. The cover comes out at 4K from the factory, so I simply have let it lane shined for a touch more length. Anything you desire in a ball to create earlier hook and control the Gremlin Tour-X is what you might looking for. This type of ball can be advantageous in today's bowling environment. I'm very excited about this ball being an asymmetric offering as well and its initial use has shown good results for me thus far. Michael Slatky 900 Global Staff Member York, PA

Roto Grip Gremlin Tour X Review by Casey Murphy
Orientation: Right Handed Rev Rate: 400 RPM Speed: 16-17 MPH PAP: 4 1/8 over and 1 up Location: Enterprise Park Lanes, Springfield MO Pattern: High Volume THS VLS Layout: Layout 1: 4 3/8 x 4 x 2 ½ (Pin above bridge) Layout 2: 4 x 4 x 3 7/8 (pin below bridge) Strength Rating (out of 10) : 6 Shape: Medium Sharp Best Use: Medium oil/transition I was big sad when the Ion Pro OG got discontinued, but the Gremlin Tour X cures those blues! The GTX is almost the exact same ball with some key improvements. The GTX is a little bit cleaner in the fronts, but it is also a hybrid, just no nano. The GTX has a flip block, so it comes off the spot much harder too. Overall, the GTX is fairly clean and responsive on the backend. But the lower differential keeps the ball from over flaring and burning up in the fronts meaning I can keep this ball in my hands for more conditions. For those who like lower flaring balls, the Gremlin Tour X is a great addition!

Gremlin Tour-X!
The Gremlin Tour-X is Roto Grips newest HP3 line ball. The Gremlin Tour-X features a modified version of Rondure MaxD core found in the OG Gremlin which lowers the overall diff drastically. This combined with the V-R1 Hybrid cover produces a much earlier and more stable ball motion. For anyone that was a fan of the Original Ion Pro Hybrid, this feels almost like a carbon copy. The Gremlin Tour-X is now available from any Storm VIP Pro Shop! Review Video: https://youtu.be/u5niRsqpQ1E?si=Fpwhlgr4F_fUmXWa

Roto Grip Gremlin Tour-X: Ball info: Core - Rondure Tour-X, which has a lowered DIFF and RG from the original Rondure core. COverstock - V-R1 hybrid coverstock, middle of the road in aggressiveness and backend reaction, a true “straighter is greater coverstock”. The surface was prepped at 4000 grit from the factory to keep the predictability of the ball intact. My Specs: Rev rate 420’s, ball speed 15.3 to 15.8 mph off the hand, axis tilt of 16 degrees and axis rotation of 70 degrees, PAP is 3 13/16th up 1/8th. Used on 39ft and 42 ft flatter patterns and 2025 Doubles and Singles USBC Open Championship pattern. The Roto Grip Gremlin Tour-X is the next release in the all-new Storm Bowling Tournament Collection of balls. When I saw this one being released, my thoughts went back a few years when the Rubicon UC2 was released with a 4k surface. I found out that the Tour-X was a little smoother overall, mainly because I feel lowering the DIFF and RG made the core a little more even, but not weak. The Tour-X has taken the place of my IQ Tour A.I. that I had at 3000 grit surface in my tournament bags for the medium and flatter patterns. In the past I needed to constantly adjust the surface to keep the IQ Tour to see the reaction I was looking for. So far, the GT-X, which is what I nicknamed it, has not had to undergo any surface adjustments to keep the angels closed down and really keeping the reaction even and still strong through the pin deck. The good news also is that I was also able to use the GT-X on a house pattern where the lane surface is very high friction from 2 decades of use, where everything else would hook instantly, or the Concept and LeveL is not strong enough the GT-X steps up and takes the lanes over like a true menace like a Gremlin should. Sneaky Smooth
The Gremlin Tour-X has such a smoother motion than the original Gremlin. It has been a great ball for me lately when I get to the middle of game 2. I love how predictable the ball motion is and it definitely keeps me out of trouble. The one thing I have noticed with this ball is that I can not move too much left but with how smooth it is I don’t really need to.

Gremlin Tour X is Money!!
The layout is 4 1/2 x 4 1/8 x 2 (50 x 4 3/4 x 30 using the dual angle layout). Since the tournament season is approaching, I decided to challenge myself and bowl on a 43-foot sport pattern with 31 mLs, and a 4:1 oil ratio with a speed bump at around 38 feet. The cover of the V-R1 Hybrid and the medium-low differential of the Rondure Tour-X core provided a smoother, yet rounded response to the speed bump down lane. The box finish of 4000 surface is amazing for me to to create a shape down lane that was predictable, consistent and provide continuation through the pins. A lot of strikes were thrown on this pattern and became very playable and adaptable quickly! This is a great replacement of the Storm Ion Pro hybrid that was discontinued some months back. If you are looking for a ball that is smooth, and reliable and ready for the tournament season, definitely grab this one! This one is definitely coming with me!

Ball Specs: Roto Grip Gremlin Tour-X VR1 Hybrid Reactive Rondure Asymmetric Core Finish: 4000 grit Abralon Layout: 4 x 4 with 2” Pin Buffer Bowler Specs: Right Hand. PAP 5” Over 1/2 up Rev Rate 300. Tilt 20. Rotation 50. Speed at release 17 Review: The Gremlin Tour-X is probably my favorite of the last wave of balls released from SPI. This ball fits ne even better than the Bionic which is very good. For me, this ball is better than the Ion Pro which was recently discontinued. The Gremlin Tour-X is stronger than I expected and is smooth and predictable but does pick up on the back part of the lane. The Gremlin Tour-X hits and carries very well. This ball seems to blend out wet dry conditions and has kept me out of trouble when my strong shiny equipment starts to bite too hard at the break point. Both gremlin balls have been rolling and selling very well, and the price point is very good for this high level of performance. I put this ball under my RST Solid but above my Hustle X-Ray in hook. I believe you will see this ball at a lot of tournaments and on the racks on league night. Summary: The Roto Grip Gremlin Tour-X is a predictable hard-hitting ball. The ball is better than the price point. The Gremlin Tour-X is a nice compliment to the original. Awesome bowling ball
I had to leave a review because I shot a 300 and a 741 out of the box. I love this ball so far, who wouldn't? It rolls so well, some compare it to the Storm Ion Pro, but this to me rolls a lot better, more controllable on the back ends. I thew a 300 with the original Gremlin a couple weeks ago, so I had to get this ball! And I'm glad I did! I feel I can start with the Gremlin tour-X and move onto the Gremlin if I need to. A great 1-2 ball punch. Also rolls different than the Roto Grip Transformer. There is a place for every ball, some people like the way they roll some don't. I just feel this ball is more controllable. I'm 52 years old and I love this ball. Watch videos for your style, watch other bowlers. This ball just fits in my bag for me, I'm really happy with it, its a benchmark ball to give you the option to keep throwing it, or go to something different.

Roto Grip Gremlin Tour-X
Layout: 4.5 x 5 x 4.25 The Gremlin Tour-X features the V-R1 Hybrid Coverstock wrapped around the Rondure Tour-X Core, creating a very versatile and reliable reaction on a variety of lane conditions. After throwing this ball on several different patterns, it has quickly become one of the most dependable pieces in my bag. The Gremlin Tour-X is clean through the front part of the lane, while still providing a smooth, predictable motion downlane that allows me to stay in control of the pocket. For me, this is a great ball to start with, or it fits perfectly as the second ball out of the bag after my Concept when I need something that blends the lane a little better while still creating continuation. If you're looking for a true benchmark reaction that gives you control, versatility, and a smooth shape, the Gremlin Tour-X is definitely one to add to your arsenal.

It features the V-R1 (Versatile-Response 1st Edition) hybrid cover and the new Rondure Tour-X core. The V-R1 hybrid cover was created to create mid-lane stability and provide a consistent reaction to friction on a wide variety of patterns. The Rondure Tour-X core was strategically reengineered to generate a smooth backend reaction and controlled shape. The Gremlin gave me a great look sliding on 30, looking 17 at the arrows with my breakpoint around 7-8. I was able to play multiple angles by changing my speed and hand position. It also did an excellent job blending out the wet/dry on the high friction house pattern. When compared to the original Gremlin, it was several feet earlier and much rounder off the end of the pattern. If you loved the original Gremlin, but need a smoother motion without compromising carry, the Gremlin Tour-X is what you need! Stop by your local Storm VIP pro shop to check it out! Available on March 13.

Gremlin Tour-X
Ball Specs: Gremlin Cover: Core: Review: The Roto Grip Gremlin Tour X is a high-performance benchmark ball designed to offer a more disciplined and predictable motion than its predecessor. By utilizing the Rondure™ TOUR-X asymmetric core with a low RG of 2.48 and a controlled differential of .034, it provides an early, stable rev-up that resists overreacting when it encounters dry boards. Wrapped in the V-R1™ Hybrid Reactive coverstock and finished at a 4000-grit Abralon surface, the Tour X excels at blending out wet/dry lane conditions, making it an ideal choice for players who need a smooth, continuous arc on medium oil or challenging sport patterns. It effectively fills the gap in a modern arsenal as a reliable "first ball out of the bag" that offers more drive than a traditional symmetric piece while maintaining the elite control necessary for navigating mid-lane transition. Gremlin Tour-X
The Roto Grip Gremlin Tour-X features the V-R1 Hybrid reactive cover wrapped around the Rondure Tour-X asymmetric core, finished at 4000-grit—so it’s built for medium flare and a super controlled, stable motion that blends the lane and keeps everything in front of you . For me, this ball is all about control and predictability, especially on tougher or transition-heavy patterns where I don’t want anything jumpy. It reads the midlane smoothly, never overreacts off the spot, and just gives me that “stay in play” type of motion that’s easy to trust. Compared to something like the Hyperdrive or even the original Gremlin, it’s noticeably more controlled and less aggressive, which actually makes it more usable when the lanes get tricky. I’m not using this to open up the lane—it’s more of a precision piece—but when I need to blend wet/dry and keep carry consistent without guessing, the Tour-X is one of the most reliable balls I can throw.

Cover: V-R1 Hybrid Reactive Core: Rondure TOUR-X RG: 2.48 RG. Diff.: 0.034 Finish: 4000 Abralon Roto Grip’s new Gremlin TOUR-X is a Hybrid (2 parts Solid. 1 Part Pearl) Asymmetrical piece that is good for Medium-Heavy Volume patterns. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Rev Rate: 400. Speed: 16.5. I drilled this piece with the Pin up between the fingers, CG kicked out 1” from the palm, and 1” Left of the Mass Bias. 5 x 4 x 2 ½. I threw this piece on a Shark 47’ pattern. Out of Box ball motion started in the mids with a strong predictable motion on the backend. I compared this to the Gremlin. Gremlin was overall 2-3 boards more. Cleaner through the fronts with a sharper backend compared to the Gremlin TOUR-X. This is a good 1-2 punch from the Gremlin Line. Gremlin Tour-X
Roto Grip Gremlin Tour-X 4 ½ x 4 x 4 ½ Very smooth, predictable and controllable. Clean through the fronts but continuous through the pins. I can see myself using this ball on the fresh (with more surface) if they are really hard and I want to control the pocket and even throughout transition. Gremlin Tour-X is very similar to the Ion Pro which has been one of my favorites since it was released but now that is has been discontinued I feel that this Gremlin Tour-X will be the replacement. This ball will get plenty of lane time for me in tournaments on a variety of patterns. Get yours Friday 3/13 at your local Storm VIP Pro Shop #squadrg #stormnation https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZThcuncMd/

TESTING ENVIRONMENT Type: Lakes Bowl After League BALL: Roto Grip Gremlin TOUR-X Coverstock: V-R1™ Hybrid Reactive Core: Rondure™ MaxD Core Finish: 4000 Grit RG: 2.52 (14 lb) Differential: 0.034 (14 lb) MB/PSA: 0.010 (14 lb) ME: Right-Handed Tweener Speed: 14–15 mph Rev Rate: 220 PAP: 6 3/16 → ¾ Up Layout: 50x4x25 The team and I spent some time discussing when and where the Roto Grip Gremlin TOUR-X would be most effective, and we decided to test and film it on a breakdown after a league shot. The goal was to see if this could be the go-to transition ball after throwing stronger pieces like the ION Max or Equinox Solid. Right off the bat this ball seemed familiar and after we were talking about what we were seeing it reminded us of a TOUR Dynam-X. Within the first few shots, I started standing on 25, playing the track area and getting the ball to 12-14 at the arrows and 7–9 downlane. Since the pattern had already been bowled on, transition happened quickly and we were moving every couple of shots. I eventually moved left to around 31 with my feet, looking 15-17 at the arrows, and the ball continued to shape really well through the fronts while still driving through the pins. Gremlin Tour X review by Lonnie Pemberton
TESTING ENVIRONMENT Length:43 Volume: Med-High Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):THS COMMENTS Cover:V-R1™ HYBRID Core: RONDURE™ TOUR-X Finish: 4000-grit RG: 2.48 (15lb) Differential: 0.034 (15lb) PSA: 0.011 (15lb) ME: Right-Handed Tweener Speed: 12-13 mph Rev Rate: 315 Axis Tilt: 14° Axis Rotation: 74° PAP: 5 1/8 R 7/8 Up LAYOUT: Pin Over Ring 4 3/4 X 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 VLS The newest addition to the Roto Grip HP3 line is a tour version of the Gremlin called the Gremlin Tour X. Like other Tour releases the new version of the Rondure core features a lower RG and lower Differential compared to its original version. They wrapped this new core in a hybrid version of the VR-1 cover that was on the Gremlin and finished it at 4000. I personally haven't had as much luck with with tour releases. I'm not sure if it's my lower ball speed but for whatever reason tour cores very often seem to hook too much for me until I try to play angles where I need them too. That being said I didn't go into this review with high expectations for my reaction with this ball. I noticed immediately that this ball was more controllable than previous Tour releases I've used. The Gremlin Tour X seems to blend this earlier revving core with perfect cover. I saw mid-lane read and great continuation immediately. I would hesitate to call the Gremlin Tour X either a strong or weak ball but rather it fits really well in the benchmark category. Now without the lengthy explanation of what strong and weak really mean I'll just state that this ball Isn't as early for me as the original gremlin was and it continues SOOOO much better. I could see the Tour X being helpful for literally every style of bowler. This ball also responds really well to hand position changes which keeps it in play even longer. With straighter angles you can throw this ball on the freshest lanes and you can stay with it much longer than you would expect for a core that revs up that quickly. Gremlin x tour
I just bowled city tournament here in Jacksonville Florida and this ball is absolutely amazing, I drilled it 4 x 4 x2 and it is the smoothest ball I have ever thrown. It held the line and drove through the pins like a freight train. I definitely would suggest this ball for anyone. Its a must have in the bag
